Heavy bolter because its terrifying, rocket launcher because its fun lol. But it is mostly just what you like the look of and fancy converting which is basically what I did.
>genespliced tyrant with 2+ to hit
Id avoid doing this to start because BS and WS upgrades come fairly cheap XP-wise during the campaign, so it makes more sense to spend your gene-smithing upgrades from Tyrants Own etc on wounds or attacks which are both extremely expensive.
Feels a little bit gamey, but you cant have your bossman getting wound-mogged by a dyel Orlock roundcaptain, and as long as you dont take the piss putting dermal hardening your whole gang I think its fine 2bh

If they become necessary in short order, I can take a moment to draw the square.

However, If my players have decided to go picking cabbages for session one, instead of trying to get themselves into some sort of "adventure" then I've already failed to sell them on the concept of a dungeon crawl, or possibly on roleplaying entirely.

Assume crops are using standard rotation methods, with a season for a nitrogen fixer like beans, and a season for ground cover, and a season for the staple crop, and moving round the plots; small sharecropper's lots probably.

I mean, I COULD let you pretend to chase geese and ducks round, but at that point I might as well just let you play with your phone.

The GM is supposed to have fun too, remember.

Difficulty fighting him doesn't have anything to do with Kentaro's choice. It's all about the person as a whole, fighting skills are just one of many components of a person. Doesn't matter how good of a fighter Itsuki is, Kentaro sees him as a wimp, or maybe a crybaby, only one that just so happens to be able to fend for himself in a brawl.
Great opponents all have a "special something" each, which Kentaro prides himself in being able to sense.

I didn’t think we had stumbled onto one of the best dynamics in the whole MP when I first wrote that writefag. Somehow, all three of us understood this relationship in the same way and everything is working out perfectly. I NEED to write more Ai. She’s such a cool character. I wanted to add a bit to this, from Kaoru’s perspective.

Kaoru isn’t quite sure whether to call Ai a friend either — she’ll externally call her a friend to others, yeah, but she sees her in a similar way to how Ai sees her. Not quite a leash, but someone she’s forced to trust. And that’s making her go nuts. Someone so unreliable, who could go off at any second — worst possible friend for a person with trust issues. Kaoru tries to hold Ai together, for her own sake and Ai’s, almost at the same level, but in a way she wishes she COULD be friends with Ai, with SOMEONE, without pretensions. I thought that moment where Ai said Yae would figure it out, and that hurt Kaoru, that was perfect because maybe in the back of her mind, Kaoru might’ve innocently trusted Ai to value her judgement at that level, and that stab would STING.

I kinda wanna see these two become genuine friends eventually, but I want to flesh out Scarlet Senshi’s activities in Bleeding Zones first. I want to show her off fighting enemies, helping other people and then vanishing before they could figure out who she is. I wanna write some Light/Kira shit with Yae. I wanna write some Census Club shit with Alyona. I think Takaishi might be fun to write about, even, he might be a pretty good ship for Kaoru in the long run NGL. Not even memeing. I’d have to kill myself. I don’t think I have liked an MP this much since I started doing this.
>>
>>96734155
Peak... It's great to see more of best (read schizo) girl. We're getting to see more of her relationships too, a bit of Madoka, a deeper look into Kaoru. Good cooking anon.

What colours will go well with black decals? I have a few sheets of pic related so I don't want to buy any of those fancy decals from LBM since they are not available in my country and buying them abroad would cost me an arm and a leg.
I was considering painting shields with a mix of red, white and bronze for details and swap them between shields for variety. I'm not sure if black won't end up too dark and blend with red.
I was considering purple as well but that one I should reserve for Royal Guard/Silver Shields.

From what I understand they restricted lists to being more true to "scenes" from the movies. So you can't have any models or wargear that was not present in that specific scene that represents the warband.
>>
>>96732263
In the previous edition you could build factions in a very free-form way. Very few restrictions. Could just pick the heroes you wanted with whatever wargear you wished for. There were a lot of options that didnt have specific models which encouraged converting.
What I miss the most is that factions could be allied into each other to make cool combinations. For example khazad dum dwarves and lothlorien elves. The alliance matrix heavily discouraged super lore breaking combinations though, so you mostly saw things from lore or very plausible combinations. For example my personal favorite was Lothlorien Numenor. Or from super wacky variety Isengard Moria (which wasnt very good but a ton of fun).
Now the factions are incredibly restricted. Cant even have Lurtz leading armoured Uruks for fucks sake. And in tournaments just by seeing the faction you already know what the player is running pretty much to exactly, the creativity is nonexistent.

Also, I frankly hated the Legendary Legions which they started pushing in supplements. Faction variants with restrictions and a page's worth of bloat special rules. Now every fucking faction is a legendary legion with asinine rules. Gone are the days of an entire faction's special rules being just "+1 courage".

I don't get "rules light" systems.
It's fine if you're getting into the hobby I guess but once you and your table know a crunchy system, that system can do everything a "rules light" system can and more.
I was browsing through the daggerheart rules and it does nothing you can't do with plain old D&D while missing depth when you need it.
Rules getting in the way of story/character development or whatever is a people problem, not a system problem.

>>
>>96713766
God this thread is so fucking stupid it isn't about whether rules-lite or heavy crunch. What matters is if the rules aren't obtrusive and confusing. People don't mind rules that aid play, and too much rules bogs the fucking game down, numbers too.
Its about having the right amount of
>"can the average wageslave compartmentalize this?"
It doesn't fucking matter how much rules there are, if you're rules are shit nobody wants to play. Sometimes people don't want to spend all their fucking energy into number cruching, sometimes they do. That's why different systems exist. It's insane that ANY of you fucking retards think there is a one-size fits all for that. Different shit exists for different reasons. You can bitch all you want but that isn't gonna make people play any of either. It's all preference and you know that's the truth. God this thread is ragebait shit.
>>
>>96713766
Your hot shit takes on what kinds of systems people you don't play with enjoy or not are a "people problem". I play RPGs to relax and have a good time, not to solve needlessly convoluted math exercises. Yet another waste of a thread.

That's still 30 seconds of burn time, which is relatively short.
>>
>>96733378
To be fair you kinda screwed up by using bridges to ignore water and based on both of your pictures the deployment zone mostly effected one side more then the other. Looked like red side could just outright ignore water and team blue goober could just use the bridge to ignore water 50% of the time.
>>
>>96734386
30 seconds is long time if you're the one on fire. And game wise making it any longer would have been a bit overkill, back then it was 6 heat infilcted on mechs per missile and against vehicles that was 3 turns where you had to make an instakill roll.
>>
>>96734419
I'm mostly comparing it to actual incendiary weapons. 30 seconds isn't a long time realistically, but the current ~10 seconds is probably the best for gameplay.

Trench Crusade General - /trench/
Let's Make A Warband Generator Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online, but are split between the website and the discord. They have all been collected here for your convenience:

One of my players for sure. Group voted 5e and I was DMing and allowed feats. Of course the player that usually tries to make the game tedious picks Sharpshooter (old version, I don't know what it's like with the 2024 rules) and complains constantly because surprise, few battles take place 600 feet away from enemies on empty fields.

This friend of a friend.
There was my friend, one other guy he knew, his GM friend, and me. I'd never met any of my friend's friends.
We were playing a one-shot CoC scenario. I quickly made my character, a big game hunter.
Something odd was happening at an isolated mansion and we drove up to check it out. It was dark when we arrived. When we got out of the car the front doors opened and a servant invited us in. The GM also mention that we might have heard/seen something in the dense trees next to the mansion.
My character, being an experienced hunter, decides to check what the noise could be, while the two other guys go inside.
GM turns to me and goes: "You're dead".
Then he continues the game with the other two guys.
I kept waiting for something to make sense. Maybe we're all supposed to die and return as zombies? Maybe I'll return as a possessed body? But no, I had to sit there for 30 minutes until he gave me a new character, a policeman stopping by, to play as.
I've no idea what his thought was. Perhaps he didn't really want me in the game and just wanted to play with the two guys he knew? Perhaps he panicked and couldn't come up with something?
Never played with him again.
