i just don't see why Games Workshop wouldn't give Ikit Claw a cute nerd daughter with an amazon stormvermin BFF. does GW hate diversity or something? i thought this was 2025, we NEED representation!

Que Retardado Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online, but are split between the website and the discord. They have all been collected here for your convenience:

LMAO you're chatting shit based on 10-15 year old information, boomer scum. There is no Specialist Games or Forgeworld. They are called Specialist Design Studio. Their counterpart that does 40K/AoS is the "Main Studio".

No they did not get "their own machine" you wretched dunce. SDS shoots their plastics through the same facility all GW's stuff is shot through, the same facility that is constantly tapped out and failing to meet overall kit demand. GW does not and cannot spin up new plastics injection plants at will, ya turd-mouthed idiot.

a) they are not a subsidiary, and b) by your own retarded logic GW would be unable to poach "Forgeworld" employees for 40K if "Forgeworld" was a totally separate entity.

You put on an absolute showcase of Dunning Kruger excellence, though, grandpa dumbfuck.

The warp and the force aren't comparable whatsover. The force is an observable and somewhat physically founded mostly predictable phenomena. Warp entities are sentient manifestations of general emotions and the collective uncounscious with active personalities, most of which often times do nonsensical stupid shit because it fits their archetype. Manipulating chaos is not THAT hard, big E did it, Archeon did it, Eisenhorn did it, even Yvraine did it. Im sure Palpatine could end up in a tard wrangle situation given he's shown the skills to do so but they're completely different systems

Imperial Guard and Navy could easily take them out via overwhelming force.
Imagining doing a strike solo but with 100 times the enemies rushing at you, that's how badly the Guardians would be outgunned and outnumbered, they'd get completely swarmed.

The biggest character trait of the Emperor, which is old as fuck in the lore, is that he sees himself as literally the only possible way for humanity to go on and he is physically unable to accept that other ways might be viable. We literally have an example of Crusade era Imperium meeting a federation equivalent and it was straight up genocided. It doesn't matter if yes, the federation is actually reaching his stated end goal better that what he could ever do. If anything it would make him even less able to accept it as a viable alternative. Picturing him seeing the federation and go "I'm wrong actually" is character rape on the level of Palpatine deciding to retire as a farmer.

Actually, just let him be a conspiracy theorist and invite his player to metagame wildly. His 'value' to his handlers is that he's already read in on all the conspiracy shit, but if he ever tells anyone he looks like a loon.
Bonus points for not using commonly-known spooky shit, or playing unconventional conspiracies or cryptids.

I'd probably have some really vague allusions to it, disappearances and the like, weird scrawls of some weirdly shaped thing that seemed very hastily made, etc. The players would have to avoid learning too much whilst also still trying to find a way to get rid of or entrap it.

Finally finished reading the copy of Noctuary and Spectral Link I picked up last year. Ligotti is always dense but I was really sucked in with the final story The Small People.
I pictured them as these little mini fig people or those wooden modeling dolls but flesh but no apparently they're disgusting veiny creeps. Still, a pretty interesting concept if you just look at it surface level.
These entirely unexplainable creatures that mimic humanity and are constantly moving 'Small Country' around leaving areas no human can approach due to an inexplicable distaste for anything to do with them.

I woke up this morning with the anomalous desire to run a deep sea horror game. I'm picturing a mini-sandbox in Mothership so I can use some tweaked rules from the Dive fan game. Picturing a near-ish future setting on an Earth devastated by some sort of climate catastrophe that's rendered the surface a corrosive/poisonous hell, forcing what remains of humanity underwater (to brush up against horrors created by man's arrogance and unleashed by the melting of the polar glaciers). Variable depths (abyssal, hadal) will require the players to take on mercenary missions from a variety of factions and upgrade their submersible. Anybody else run anything underwater?

I'm trying to make a campaign where the party is taking a sea route around the east coast from Alethkar to the Reshi Isles (pic related), and I'm trying to come up with stuff to fill in the gaps of travel time and the different visited locations. Give me some ideas for things to throw at the party.

If there's a Techmarine or Magos around said vehicle then they will happily clear all the statuses up with very little effort. Supported vehicles need to actually be killed, or have their repairmen assassinated before you can status them down, so if you can just dump a bunch of hull points onto it it's a much more reliable way to go about things if they actually bring Battlesmith.

>>96909041

Also helps to make said big tank a transport because superheavies can take multiple units, so you can pile a bunch of guys in your Mastodon and jump them out individually. Good for when you want to skip jump packs on some of your characters, too.

Daily tea ritual which hides self-medication behaviour. Her specific morning blend (boiling water three times, three leaves, pinch of smoked root, citrus petal)

In Stimulants: Highly concentrated infusions of known adaptogens or mild stimulants (like fantasy-analogue caffeine or kola nut) hidden in her tea/water to combat sleep deprivation (3–5 hours of sleep).

In Sedatives: Low-dose, non-addictive calmers (like fantasy-analogue chamomile or valerian) used to break the screaming nightmares or prevent a FREEZE response after a major trigger.

Clean, Boiled Water: She learned the cost of disease tending camps and due her background. She beliefs it repeals demons in water.

Controlled Pain/Release. If she drinks, it must be something strong, taken in very small, measured amounts—never enough to impair judgment, but enough to feel the burn. This mirrors her choice of self-inflicted pain.

Fermented Milk Drinks (Analogue Ayran/Kefir): Cultural Anchor/Childhood Comfort. A sharp, cold, cultured milk drink offers a faint, bittersweet connection to the stability of her early years. It is familiar, nourishing, and not decadent.

>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that focuses on simulation gameplay and has a black trenchcoat aesthetic.

Cyberpunk RED is the fourth edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that is set after Cyberpunk 2020 following the Fourth Corporate War, focuses on more balanced gameplay and is more streamlined but has less content.

Ok, James I’ll bite.
I think most reasonable assumption is to see what kind of homebrew people like (since they make it, means they want it in their games) and then which parts of books are praised the most (since they enjoy it, means they want more of it).

I’ll admit. Most of the gaping issues are fixed by this point, we got FBCs, we got… hmm furries aren’t my thing, but we did got them, martial arts were greatly expanded, we got a shitload of weapons, vehicles, sometimes drugs, drones, net gear and shit.
Man, just thinking about it makes me realise how far we went the DLCs, sure part of the content is whack (it depends but it’s like 40% for me), but hey, it’s free.

Compared to the 2020 series, at this point we would’ve had like 5 books about entire continents lore (including space), multiple adventures (I don’t even count them because I dislike the concept of pre-made adventure).

Isn't Mike in his 70's? I assumed he's soft retired and Red was just the last big project he worked on. CDPR wheel him out every so often to ramble on about lore while he leaves R.Tal to his kids.
>>

>What are you expecting/hoping for - more premade adventures, more rulebooks or..? I assumed most GMs prefer homebrew adventures.

For the love of god, stop with the adventure books. Personally I'd like a rules supplement, something like Xanathar's Guide to Everything or Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

Also does anybody know if the NC45 is just a lorebook or if there's going to be any new rules, items etc
>>
>>96911958
Don't remind me. I know he'd be against it, but it'd be nice to get an engram of him so his virtual ghost could be consulted. You can kinda do that with LLM training today, but I think he'd have a Dixy Flatline philosophy on being brought back in that capacity.

A better option would be some rejuvenation therapy that helps people live longer and gives them a more youthful body, but sadly, I think that tech is about a decade or so away at best.
>>
>>96907018
>What are you expecting/hoping for - more premade adventures, more rulebooks or..?
Official, proper support for the 2070s, and not another fucking premade adventure. Less filler DLCs, I'd rather have less frequent DLC that is more consistent than a monthly thing that puts undue workload for something that isn't worthwhile. And stop with fucking ELO.
RTal is an expert at hitting when the iron is so cold it's starting to rust, the CEMK was announced in November 2022 because Edgerunners (which aired in September) was a massive success so they scrambled for it, releasing in June 2024. The 2077 book hasn't just been getting kicked down the road for years (it's hard to look up when it was announced because the phrase "2070s" shows up for the first time in May 2024 and "2077" constantly comes up because of the game), it was downgraded from being a sourcebook for the period (so presumably rules, gear, vehicles, setting info) to being a campaign set in it as of GenCon this year.
I'm sure there are people who play in the 2040s, but most people I see online have been running the 2070s using Red for years, or even the 2020s because they prefer the system to 2020's.

And the smug cunts on here who post "have you tried not playing D&D" when your retarded lolzrandumb ilk, from the "golden years" of /tg/, posting Los Tiburnos and Sir Bearington copypastas that started the lolsorandumb normalnigger meme train that led to D&D being ruined in the first place? I'd love to punch you fucking cocksuckers in the face. You fucking fat smug twats.

There's still a party in west marches you fucking idiot. I bet you thought you were so smart typing that out. I can just see the smug expression on your ugly face. Yes, you still have a party in West Marches. Just because different groups of PCs adventure in different sessions doesn't mean there isn't a "party." Would you rather I say "group" or "troupe" or "company"? You don't know anything even about troupe-style play. You don't even understand the point of what West Marches is for. It's not just "lol randumb drop-in game because all my players are too busy having gay polyamorous relationships and working odd shifts at their low-tier wagie jobs to show up consistently" it's supposed to take ADVANTAGE of that style of play for downtime activities and slower healing to encourage playing multiple characters. Plus competitive play between different subgroups.

I stand corrected. I never really thought about it being done as a troupe style thing as I've only ever participated in a more open world type of thing instead.

That being said, you are still a cunt. As much as I agree that meme train can be cancer at times, I've seen plenty of groups where the local shitposter was also capable of wielding that same energy and forging the best, serious stakes out of the players.

This thread is all about solo games and campaigns. Apparently nobody bothered to make the new one.

Thread Question(s): At what point does solo turn into novel-writing? Is that something you enjoy, don't? What can you do to prevent/promote it?

I'm glad they're doing this for games now.

Anyone got a method for just generating quests?

Bandit's Keep's actual play.

look at the tables for captain's log and the various generator tables in the STA splats.

instead of generating 'an quest' STA goes about the whole thing totally differently. each 'mission brief' is actually generated as if it was an EPISODE of a ST show.
so you have a whole bunch of A,B and even C plot matrices.

try thinking about your play that way. instead of 'una questa!'

think about it as if you're crafting a story of your characters going off to DO a thing, and other stuff can happen along the way / complicate / interfere with or even change tack or track of the 'quest' totally.

use the game rules so you aren't being a munckin etc, and having OP mary sue's or gary stu's win at everything forever, but think less about the 'quest' and more about the story of the characters, how they would act, react, within the scenario.

almost like a play or tv show episode etc you are 'watching'

i am explaining it shittily.

uh... let's try again...

so let's say you roll up a quest, go kill the goblins. simple.

but you suck at dialogue and roleplaying 'in character'.

but your character is a loner who works solo, and really really hates goblins. so he doesn't charge in headfirst like a retard to die he uses traps, poison, he has light chain and leather armour, a buckler and a short sword, he knows goblin nests will be close in and foul. so he fucking smokes out the nest first by blocking every exit but one and firing the last, taking the 15 goblins one by one when they come at the entrance.

and that is how you get goblin slayer.
