It happened so little (spell crits) that it never overloaded the game in any way. Added a bit of pizzazz I thought. Only the wild mage ever got much use out of it though. Fun rules but entirely supplementary though I feel you on the making wizards et al any more powerful. They didn't really need it.

Thanks for the dopamine hit. The buildings were printed into seperate pieces by floor. Im really happy with how they turned out with the .4 nozzle and the time it took.

My dream is to have a narrative campaign of empire vs orcs and the first battle will be around the crossroads where the tavern is located to secure supply lines for the larger army and to force project into the surrounding area.

Vignettes are cool but p. overpriced because there’s whole expansions there at a similar price point or even cheaper and a lot of vignette’s value besides a separate flavorful showdown comes from “man I’ve already fought x so many times I wish there was something new to the encounter”

Happy Easter Sunday everyone on /tg/! To celebrate, how do the people in your settings celebrate the changing of the seasons, especially winter to spring? And what mystical significance do said holidays or even the seasons themselves hold? Does the goddess of spring get summoned by the rites, does the magic of the seasons affect how spells are cast, do special beasts show up to herald the seasons, etc.? In my world, every spring temples are deep cleaned and sermons are conducted outside, a whole little festival taking place, especially with the larger temples, the gods often stopping by incognito.

In ascending order of complexity, I can think of:

All of them allow for lots of customisation, with 5 or so models per player, also fun to play.

If you want something with a higher model count, Xenos/Dragon Rampant allow for very freeform units and aren't too complex to get into.

Part of the problem was that Argonnessen was intended to be one of the "Epic level" zones of Eberron during 3.X. Remember Eberron was supposed to be a setting that could hold a version of "everything" in D&D with in it which included the Epic stuff. This idea was lost in the 3e -> 4e and 4e -> 5e transitions.

Sounds like it could be a real pain if it was played super competitively and legalisticly (THe GM sniper 2 might become meta because its articulation is more flexable than any other or something as an example), but could be neat in a more casual atmosphere.

Definitely something like that. Our clan is one of the fewer ones who has the license to copy books and record history which is one of the strong points beside Kelpie eggs that we use for political leverage.

Okay, but why? All you’ve done is make ability scores even more pointlessly abstracted. If ASIs grant you the same mathematical benefit as before and proficiency bonus counteracts the mathematical impact of the new modifier math, you’ve returned to where you were but with fuzzier math. Any impact of increasing randomization is negated by your concessions.

The only classes that can really get away with just one stat are Artificer, Cleric, Fighter, Paladin, and Rogue. Anyone else needs a modicum of Dexterity for AC.
Paladin might seem like an odd inclusion there, but even if you roll 15 Cha and everything else is 10 or less, you can spend your Background to get True Strike via Magic Initiate in the 2024 rules. If you're still in 2014, Paladin is still the best use of those scores, but involves taking the Blessed Warrior fighting style so you can just get an attacking cantrip and being a worse Cleric.

Classes like Wizard or Sorcerer are the ones that suffer the most because unless you roll exactly a high Dex alongside a decent casting stat, you just won't have the AC to actually survive.

D20 needs some decently big numbers for mods to matter more than dice. Anything less than +11 means the dice roll probably matters a lot more than the mods. And this is before getting into what you want your target numbers to be. If you want mods to matter more than rolls you're probably gonna wanna do 3D6 where the majority of rolls will land within a smaller average range, where +1 actually matters a lot more than +1 in a D20 system.

Work on Inversion RPG Beta 4 continues silently and slowly.

Somehow, last month Beta 3 managed to hit the front page of itch physical games, and it got way more eyes on the game out of nowhere. That's been really helpful for getting feedback on things to fix and couldn't have come at a better time.

I'm hoping to add a decent bit more art to Beta 4, and I really don't like posting things until they're done, but here's some preview for the art for one of the skills.
