Alright, y'all, how'd I fuck this one up?
>>97821163I only got /int/ and /a/ captchas all day
>>97821573The only /int/ one I got was /CUM/

>>97820468I picked the Raven Guard as I assumed it was the legion here that GW didn't give a fuck about and I was correct.
Wtf you guys got fun captchas I was just asked who some anime characters nobody's ever heard of were called all day.
Serious question: What value do slaves actually have to your average PC? Like, I've never seen any PC / group actively engage in slavery because there never seems to be any substantial reward worth the effort. It's like crafting or running a business, there's just no *point* in engaging with the mechanics because the rewards are puny. How could you make it actually appealing to players? It's not like they can load up a ship and sail off to the ivory coast.
>>97808048why would that push anyone? what does that mean?
>>97808048well?
>>97814624>Sure, each human is individually weaker than the giant they serve, but that's always been the case for slavery, a Spartan hoplite was stronger than his helot slaves but he wasn't going to till the fields. It was roughly the same amount of work for either. Farming was an actually meaningful amount of labor for a Spartan that he didn't want to do. For a giant, the labor the slaves can spare them is utterly negligible. Digging a pit or filling buckets of water should take minutes. It's like getting slaves to tie your shoes. Ridiculous and stupid.
>>97797671Most TTRPGs are focused on combat and adventuring. Slavery generally only has utility in getting menial tasks done (or, in some cases, like Roman slavery, niche skilled labor as well). The only point of slavery in most TTRPGs would be having extra bodies to throw at the enemy, but you'd have to somehow justify why those slaves don't rebel, run away, etc.The most practical "slaves" in your traditional TTRPG would be magical creatures that are forced by their nature or some even greater threat to be loyal to you, like a genie or some NPC whose choices are "be a loyal slave to these adventuring autists or get smited by an angry god" or something similar.
Recently I found some Humanity Fuck Yeah YouTube videos that use AI voice narration on my feed. After using them as background noise while cleaning my apartment I found that that most of them are more or less the same. Humans are the only ones who know how to fight/love sex/survive/etc. How can we save the genre or reinvent it so it isn't so stale?
>>97821566You just encompassed the core concepts of this narrative trope.I wouldn't really call it a "Genre" because technically, it can slot into many genres. The trick is to bin the whole "HFY" conceit, and just write scifi or fantasy.
>>97821609I liked one HFY idea that did have humans as the physically weakest race in the galaxy on an individual basis, and had all the aliens as giant super evolved predators like giant tiger people or super fast snake-like aliens but it hammered home the persistence nature of humans and how little we sleep compared to a lot of other animals. So the super badass warrior alien who killed hundreds of aliens was recounting how fucking scared he was of going to sleep and simply never waking back up again because he needed to sleep for 16 hours a day while humans could get by on 4 or just stay up three days in a row
>>97822994Why does that even matter when you're a space civilization that can afford things like "alarms" and "rotating schedules". That's completely fucking retarded.
>>97821566You can't. It's inherently self masturbatory trash, and is thus bad.
>>97823121yeah typical "smart" hfy justification >duude what if humans are the only species in the universe to invent mirrors so all the hyperintelligent superpowered aliens are scared shitless by their reflections wouldn't that be so badass?!?>dude what if, like, humans are so special because we have thumbs?? all the aliens have ray guns and shit but can't use them because they don't have thumbs xd

>>97822226Is this some post-modern meta-spam thing? I'm pretty sure I've already seen this thread recently.
>>97822226Puckee is a type of off-topic spam threads on /tg/. These threads are spam made by someone who only comes here to spam images he either commissions or finds on artstation. He doesn't play any TTRPGs. He doesn't care about them either. He will only occasionally glance at 5e for ideas on how he can hide his shameful spam under the guise of actually playing a TTRPG. He is a pest that feels entitled to shit up /tg/ and then pretend that he's just trying to talk about worldbuilding, and for reasons beyond our control, the mods have not permabanned him.
Previous thread: >>97680129GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.If you're wondering where to start:- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.TQ: what's your least favorite disadvantage for a player to take?
>>97821720No it's doesn't.
>>97821736It does THOUGH
>>97821337Oh this is an interesting ruling. Makes All-Out attack less of an suicidal move.I think I'm gonna use that.
>>97823028>>97821337>>97820980In the same thread as this, Kromm also says>No, it was thought out at great length. In fact, it was the subject of two hours of phone calls and a lot of playtesting. It's fine as it is. People might not like the fact that going fully on the offensive means you either kill your enemy or he kills you – and boy, he had better not have pals – but that's death for you. The real issue here is with Berserk, not All-Out Attack, and whether it's fair to get +4 all the time. I tend to agree that it isn't . . . personally, I think that switching Berserk to Committed Attack would be the fairest tweak. Which I think is actually also a great ruling.IMO either double the number of points berserk gives or change it to committed attack.
>>97823062Doesn’t the Elder Thing/Deep One (whatever its called) in the races book have IT (Homogenous)? It might be an option in Power Ups, if not.
I'll start>D&D 5E is a heroic fantasy game (I didn't say good), trying to do anything else should have you using a different system.
>>97821910Stop replying to yourself.
>>97803734
>>97822592I think your time is better served arguing with that retard who doesn't think RPGs are games.
>>97823064Nice inspect element rajesh. kek
>>97822479This is completely nonviable for so many reasons. It takes time and mental effort to learn how to play a game, and about three times that amount of both to learn how to GM it. Unless you're pirating everything you play or are exclusively playing obscure free RPGs like Risus, almost every system you can play costs money, as well. Only the kind of autist who actually cares about this hobby to spend time on a board like this are actually going to be doing things like consistently seeking out different RPGs, buying them, learning them and then trying to find people willing to play them, and all of that is much harder than convincing people to go play a new video game or something with a lot less mental effort involved instead. Playing a campaign is often the only way to get people to stay invested in an RPG in the first place without immediately dipping out, because playing a campaign maximizes the amount of time spent actually playing as opposed to all the other bullshit that learning to play an RPG entails.

>>97822238NTA but is resin's fluid physics capable of just making a suction siphon? Run a fluid line from your vat to your destination container, prime the line with the syringe and then it should empty it all out on it's own, like siphoning a fuel tank? Or is it too viscous?

I think that more games aught to feature ducks. Post ducks to remedy this
A duck inspired Kang the conquerer which in turn inspired Spider-Man and the Hulk being created. Also Ming the merciless and Genghis Khan irl. This goes all the way back to Adam of Adam and Eve fame. Ducks are behind every great human moment. Think about it. God has a bill.
>>97793175never saw a rabbit move like that before
>>97798030well there's a couple other rich ducks. sure they're a minority compared to poor ducks but that's just how being a billionaire works, not everyone can be one
>>97809004someone said sci-fi ducks?
>>97816303>Ducks make orcs seem civilized.ducks are wild animals and thus completely unfamiliar with the concepts of civilization, so it should come at no surprise that intelligent beings, even if savage, are more civilized than them
