BVILT FOR BIG BLOODTHIRSTER COCK
>>
The emperor being immortal and responsible for humanity's progress since pre-history is spin written by a fanatical church. He wasn't 10 feet tall, the most powerful psyker ever etc. that's just how his legend has grown over the 10k years since he fell.

Next you'll act like the primarchs were actually his "sons" and not just warlords he recruited and put in charge of the legions during the crusades. Probably with some obviously bullshit, overly complex backstory involving teleportation and time dilation to explain the hundreds of years difference in ages of some of them.

I'm brainstorming some stuff for DCC, thought /tg/ might have some good ideas.

Premise: Dungeon Crawl Classics night at the local pub, we do one-shots every week (characters persist, but it's different DMs doing different stuff across a bunch of settings and plot threads). Games have to be tight, well-paced, and light on the deep RP and bartering with shopkeepers; the best adventures start with "You are at the entrance to the dungeon."

The arc I'm working on is the city of Noctburg; its central-europe-themed gothic/industrial horror. It mostly exports alchemical goods; the Chymic League has enough political power to ignore what scant regulations exist regarding pollution, and working conditions in their refineries are horrible enough that organized labor agitators are popping up.

The theme of Noctburg is predation and exploitation; humans are very much part of the food chain. Half the muggers are human, the other half are some manner of urbanized monster; ettercaps with garottes, cockroaches that walk upright and wear trenchcoats, selkies/kelpies/rusalkas/ect in the river. Heavy emphasis on anglerfish tactics; everything that wants to eat you has a pretty face or sounds like a child in peril.

Even the spooky stuff just wants to eat you/live in you. There's ghosts, but also all manner of non-dead-human psychic parasites and manifestations of ambient misery; Silent Hill stuff happens at lot here.

The alchemical/industrial stuff means that players have access to lots of consumable items; flares, grenades, acid, healing serums that cause addiction, chemical sprayers. I've been considering including blade oils as well. Also, constructs; less steam and clockwork, more wet-cell batteries.

So, Dunwall+Yharnam.

What I'm stumped on right now is Vampires. No one else has done anything vampire-y yet that I've seen, so it'd be novel content for the group. But I want to up the urban predator angle and do Blade vampires; I want that scene from Blade 1 where the PCs are at the in-universe-equivalent of an underground rave, then the blood sprinklers turn on. The problem is how to translate "techno rave" into gothic gaslamp fantasy, and I'm still lacking a proper premise/narrative.

Also, haven't put much thought into representing them mechanically; lean into the more-grounded Blade vampires, or the spookier Nosferatu shapeshifting-shadow-projecting-animal-controlling sort.

I just want people to be humming techno beats to themselves while they kill vampires in a basement.
>>
>>97220164
>technobeats from the 2000s

Might be hard to achieve. Could do very elaborate punch fountains with clockwork mechanisms and statues that have blood coming out of them at various points and the statues are iron maidens with bloodbag sacrifices in them. The tricky part I think, is that gothic vampire stuff doesn't have high pace as any part of it really. The shift from very prim and proper high society party people to total savagery when exposed to bloodlust might work.
To keep the DCC oneshot hijinks you could start everyone at a masquerade ball, explore a bit, statues activate and its a reverse dungeon where the players have to get the fuck out as the revellers are in various states of failing their humanity rolls.
>>
>>97220626
I was going less for high-society and more grunge/underground; the vampires LARP as punks. But yes, I am hitting up against clashing genre/period aesthetics.
>>
>>97223964
Not sure what grungy underground gothic stuff would be so I defaulted to lestat. Could do something with low class theatre or dockside musical gatherings. Most of the rave stuff I went to was entirely rich kids but I was 2000s not 90s.
Could do a play on early humanist philosophers having parlour game thought experiments where there's a garden or a parc they're using to do Rousseau's noble savage in the state of nature but its just a cover for vampires to eat people.

Moloch's Fun Park Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?

For what it's worth, apparently Eire/Ireland was shown as a heretic region in the late 19th century even before the war over it had concluded. So if there are heretics in there its clearly not enough of a presence for the church to accept the place as a region struggling for control.

If you think about it, Ash it´s kinda like Called By the Grave in a way. Sure unlike that, Ash is very fair when used going second and sometimes it´s not even enough to stop the opponent going full combo. But if you are going first and you have Ash, you have a tool that denies the opponent Mulcharmy, meaning that Ash can secure your position Going First and go full combo anyways, much like Called By the Grave.
>>
>>97224928
And if they don't have a Mulcharmy, you have an extra interaction that can just stop your opponent from going off.

Just for the sake of argument i did use gurps as an introductory ttrpg and worked well (one of the guys eventually even became a gm and run gurps by himself).
To be fair the actual merit isn't imputable to the system itself but to me that i layed the game out in the most digestible manner incrementally introducing rules at the table own pacing of absorbing them. I genuinely believe you can use whatever ttrpg you like as introductory, the important things is the signal-noise ratio of the information conveyed. This whole thread is essentially moot.
>>
>>97222318
I assume Is for "I never play a ttrpg and i'm planning to run a game for me and my fríends" so we're talking about learning and explaining the game at the same time.
>>
>>97223091
Well, in which case i agree with him, not that isn't feasible but kinda unrealistic to expect. They main issue in that case is that the GM-in-the-making tackling gurps will have in his hands a bigass modular system with little to no guidance on how to build a game with, conversely something like d&d is presented as-is as already full-rounded for the specific task (that one may argue to be good or not at but still).

To be more precise it's an issue more specific of gurps 4e, the 3e basic set offered more guidance in designing games, including a full adventure and even a solo one.

They're never very consistent on the exact size of the world. The Empire is probably the best documented of the setting, but its actual size will vary. I've seen one common map listing the Empire as only about 500-600 miles from roughly Bögenhafen to the easternmost frinches of Ostermark, while this map of Hochland (a reproduction of an older) has the entirety of the Empire's smallest province be roughly 200 miles from one end to another.

If we want the Empire to be of a "fun size" then I'd say about 2000 miles from the westernmost parts of Reikland to the ends of Ostermark would work the best. For the entire world? Four times as large would be four times the fun content.

Most games don't support individual clothing items
CP2020 does and I guess technically GURPS too, if you use splats, but good luck getting most players to care about that
>>
>>97222660
you can't say that and not tell us what they are, anon
>>

I meant more as a character design element. Though yes, a lot of non-armor clothing stats just come down to weight, price/quality, and maybe being able to help in warm/cold/humid climates if they're not explicitly items with some sort of power.
>>
>>97223432

>>
>>97209182
White Wolf's games are heavily rooted in Christian mythology and Gnosticism is basically Christianity/Judaism deep lore, so it really should come as no surprise here.
But yeah, sure, I get what you're saying, seen plenty of it as well.

I think it's largely because the core themes of Gnosticism are
>reality isn't exactly what it appears to be
>god(s) are lying to you
While the core them of HPL is
>there are forces/entities/civilisations out there that operate on an entirely different level we can barely comprehend
And those really are kind of the most obvious angles if you're trying to write some major, plot-twist "deep lore" for your setting

Another reason I see is there's probably a pretty big correlation between people who are into the concept of deep lore (and thus want to include it in their setting) and people who are into /x/ stuff (and thus are probably aware of Gnostic stuff and think it's some extra cool secret knowledge they'll be extremely original for ripping off)

Vitae and its bonding aspects are the specialty of one of my siblings, but not mine, so I don't know it super-well, much as it chafes against my super-smug persona to admit I don't know something. That said, I'm fairly confident that true love don't matter for shit, babes, blood bond's the blood bond.

If you love somebody like a mother, the blood bond might focus on that, and if you want to fuck them, it'll probably be romantic and sexual instead, and there's a lot other angles, even hate-fucking and rivalry as blood-bond fuel. Buuuut at the end of the day, blood bonds are slavery! Next to chains of iron, whatever emotions somebody feels really doesn't matter for shit.

I don't want to benefit from someone else being in thralldom. Only reason I can tolerate this is a bond is somehow better than the default Malk mental package and I refuse to treat her like a thrall.

very solid new antioch paintjob, also like the mix of mud and dirt on the base for variety

Needs some weathering to go with the rust, like the other anon said you'd expect it to have holes and for the rusted parts to be thinner, especially at the edges, if you want to sell that rusted tractor look. I think the paint job and color scheme are both really well done though

Dear Anon, thank you for the wonderful gift!
The weird Stirlander has been enlisted into a free company and will be supplied an appropriate livery. The Kriegork will lead a Kommando squad, they have been lacking discipline lately.
The squigs are adorable, I'm thinking about substituting my bomb squigs for them for the upcoming holiday game. The plushie is going to live on my bedstand guarding my books.
As for the Leviathan, he's perfect. I'm working on one right now and wonted a second for symmetry. I'll try some freehand on his large front armour panels.
The sweets will likely be gone by the end of the day. I'm very fond of panettoni!

I hope you have a warm and cozy Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year in matters of hoby and otherwise!

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

You're doing it wrong, Anon. Serious discussion is to be had in the real /osrg/ >>97206024

This thread is best used to discuss ACKS (ideally praising it) and "AD&D" 2e pointing out how retarded it is.

I don't think I do. Was he run over by a car and stuck on a hospital bed for a few weeks?

>they HATE being called out as BrOSR
On the contrary, we find it so hilarious we've even immortalised it in FISHFAG - THE MOVIE.

You're adorably retarded, fishfag.
