I'm getting into magic, and I have some friends who could enjoy playing it too, but I'm not interested in bankrupting myself trying to keep up with wotc's constant deluge of new cards, and my friends would be even less interested, so constructed probably isn't worth investing in. Draft is fun and gives you some nice variety and an even playing field, but I'm not paying for everyone to open packs each time they play and I'm not going to pressure them to pay their way either, so that isn't a great option either.

That leaves cube as the obvious choice, except for a relatively high upfront cost. How much will an enjoyable cube set me back? Are there worthwhile savings to be made by making much or all of the cards proxies? And I don't have a strong enough knowledge of the game to do a good job curating a cube list, are there any good sources to look to for inspiration?

Haven't read Worlds Without Number yet, but you've given me a couple ideas of integrating playing cards and tarot cards into the system too. The idea being that allied/minor factions work off of playing cards somehow, while "world events" or at least broadly sweeping effects are based off tarot arcana.
>>
Is there a system that actually goes into dick sizes? and treats fetishes and kinks as advantages and weaknesses with critical chances?
>>
>>97167135
Labyrinthus takes into consideration "dick size" only when you want to try to have sex with those of a different size, giving penalties from discomfort or just lower arousal, and has some traits and items who sort of play in such case, but it's not a huge focus. Kinks and Dislikes are part of the seduction process so it's not like you cans educe everyone if they find you not interesting. There are no "critical chances" only degrees of success or failure
>>
>>97162523
it's pretty good, like most things, it could use some editorial to simplify or condense aspects, but the rules really attempt to maintain the idea of action costs and complications

The only time we got all the RKs in one set was BT13, where they took up both SEC slots, most of them didn't get any individual support, and like half of them were kind of irrelevant even in the Royal Knights deck. Just the Iliad and blue TS stuff looks like more support than they got and that's just for 4 Olympos.

>>97169601
I think Locomon and the Blimpmons are loosely signalling Vulcanusmon, and Junomon could fit in the last Purple Mega slot. And of course Neptunemon.
>>
>>97169740
It was absolutely necessary that we waste 10% of the set on appslop.
>>
>>97169601
This set covers up to the end of the Abyss Area post time skip. So Vulcanusmon and Neptunemon are in, everything else is out unless they're SEC. By this point in the game we've met Junomon and Bacchusmon, but it would make more sense for Bacchusmon & Ceresmon to be paired together next set.
>>97169846
Pretty sure the last purple slot is Beelstarmon. BlackGatomon and Shiroki fit the mystery champion and tamer slots in purple.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: How often does Bulk come up in your games? What do you do to make it interesting?

I've never used guns' rules (only played GURPS in fantasy settings).
My friends say it sucks, you aim forever then miss.
Any thoughts on modern/near future combat in GURPS? Suggested books or house rules to ensure it's fun?
>>
>>97167555
Gun rules are pretty decent people just forget to apply a lot of the bonuses but apply all of the penalties. Also aiming for four turns isn't an issue with a good DM for whom turns are extremely quick and you can get through a round in less than a minute but some DMs make that single second one action turn painful.
>>
>>97167555
Your friends have no idea what they're talking about. It sounds like they played a super realistic game with low point characters and were fighting at really long ranges but you can just use the GURPS Action rules if you want gunfights where you can run around shooting and hit without spending any time aiming.
>>
>>97165750
I have a wealth level of Poor so I can't do much
>>
>>97167555
If you've used bows in fantasy games, you've used the gun rules. They work almost identically.

https://archive.org/details/b.-a.-s.-e.-d/mode/2up
I'm not sure if this is actually an RPG or a modern warfare handbook.I found this on the internet archive, and while I do not believe in the author's Templist religion (essentially syncretic Indo-European paganism) which is used as a framework for the game, many of the facts in it are useful. It reminds me a lot of F.A.T.A.L., since it has a very clear vision (an RPG which is just real life in a certain setting which may have some speculative elements), but it is more like Braunstein in design, and has very few mandatory dice rolls, with the implication that the game master finds the most realistic way to determine the result of an action.

Theres little to be called based about this "RPG". Its unreadable garbage, its just lists of facts, which is cool I guess, but I see no point. No one can actually play this and keep the mental load to do anything remotely fun it in. When you do all the math at the end it can be usually boiled down to a simple roll so why even bother?

Welcome to /wbg/, the thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art. Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have, cunt!

In 3e you lose all weapons you started with when you buy an upgraded weapon (see pg 167 "choosing an army"). Note that this page is cut out of one of the most common scans of the 3e rules because it's part of the "black book" army rules section. Later on they clarify that replacing a pistol or CCW on a model with a similar weapon only replaces that one weapon.

There was an autistic redditor that compiled their every roll and everyone but the big guy had cheated. on a d20 everyone else averaged something like 16-17 with abnormally high amounts of 1's and strangely few 2-8. Iirc the small guy was inconclusive since he had a Rouge ability to reroll ones. Theres also the video of Liam Neeson rolling and cheering for a 20 and Matt looked at him and asked really? Did you really? With a disappointed look.
