Got connection errors even when attached to the net, I was still watching a stream and my wifi was working. Both me and my opponent were disconnecting till it gave me an error. The game gave me a loss for my draft. First game. I opened a ticket and my friend said it will probably be reimbursed. Will it cancel out the potential reimbursement if I continue the draft? I just want to play another at this point, but can't. Would it be better if I just resign?

How the fuck does this even work?I wanted to try giving Twilight 2000 a go, but Im having a hard time finding a group and I don't feel ready yet to be a GM.Then i noticed some people mentioning that they like playing it solo, but i don't really understand.Isn't the whole point of this to play with people? How do you handle being a GM controlling everything trying to kill the player if you are also the payer? How do you handle the unravelling story of a module or a campaign as a player if you already know it as a GM?What's really stopping you from fudging your own rolls every time so you win all the time?Whats the point of roleplaying if you are basically mumbling by yourself? How do you get fun out of this?Im not really sure if I should give it a go, or instead just try to do my homework and attempt to be a GM for once.
>>96632941>Nah a lot of solo players also play a group game.Source: trust me, bro>You say writing a novella as if that's a bad thingNo, I find writing a novella far, far superior to playing solo. What's the most self-indulgent thing you've added to your world?I love world building, I've done various settings that are all wildly different from each other. The only thing they all have in common is that my Phobia doesn't exist there. It makes me happy to imagine a world where what I fear the most doesn't exist.
/m/ shit, particularly smaller, more "realistic" ones like VOTOMS. Shoehorn them into any scifi or magi-tech setting possible. Never done any magical realm stuff, though. None of my own fetishes really fit into a combat-focused campaign, thankfully. Come to think of it, I did once do a faction based on a particular fetish, but not something I was into personally, it was just a thought experiment.
>>96622144>Come to think of it, I did once do a faction based on a particular fetish, but not something I was into personally, it was just a thought experiment.Details please.
>>96598317>What's the most self-indulgent thing you've added to your world?I have a character that I put in every game I run - like seeing the same actor in different movies.Sometimes she's very important: she was a major villain in the Fabula Ultima campaign I recently finished up. When I run Exalted, she's a 1500+ year old Chosen of Serenity with numerous identities and businesses across Creation. Sometimes she's just a background character: whenever I run Shadowrun she's a world famous simstarlet but the runners never interact with her, just occasionally hear her songs over the radio or a job coincides with a concert she's holding. In Deadlands, she's an entrepreneuring alchemist in Tombstone.Sometimes she's a faceless opponent(s): in Mutant Chroincles she's an entire line of new bioroids produced by a Cybertroic subsidiary that have a built-in anti-Symmetry (and all other mystical effects) field that increases in strength when there are more of them in close proximity with each other. In Star Trek she was foot soldier caste of identical snake girl aliens belonging to the dominant power of an unexplored expanse of the Beta Quadrant.Regardless, she's always there. It's predictable on my part, but my friends generally have fun guessing what role she'll play in each campaign.
>>96598317Immortality. In my world if someone 'really' wants to do it, there's a couple of methods of becoming immortal. Many decide against it because there's a confirmed afterlife, even if the details are forever obscured, and just extend their lives and health a bit more. I hate it when immortality is depicted as negative, if I had my way we'd all be uploaded to the cloud by now.

>>96620627When one of the gods of death was alive, he very firmly held the title of "worst human being to ever live." He was both personally a shithead, but his goal was equally monstrous - his goal was to use a spell to drain the world of its essence to fuel his ascent to Godhood. He knew doing this could very well kill everything in existence. He was fine with becoming a god of a ruined, lifeless world if it meant he got the power he wanted.Of course, that was one defeated campaign and an entire era ago. The world survived, but it was damaged. The land he ascended is was drained dry, and the rest of the world is kind of fucked. In his current form, he is somehow not as bad. The dark god he now is has become apathetic. The power he sought mastery over itself was weakened by his own actions. And more over, he has nothing to gain from scheming.

>>96629816If you don't like McCarthy's prose on its own you're not gonna get anything out of the book. >They came to know the nightskies well. Western eyes that read more geometric constructions than those names given by the ancients. Tethered to the polestar they rode the Dipper round while Orion rose in the southwest like a great electric kite.
Long past dark that night when the moon was already up a party of women that had been upriver drying fish returned to the village and wandered howling through the ruins. A few fires still smoldered on the ground and dogs slank off from among the corpses. An old woman knelt at the blackened stones before her door and poked brush into the coals and blew back a flame from the ashes and began to right the overturned pots. All about her the dead lay with their peeled skulls like polyps bluely wet or luminescent melons cooling on some mesa of the moon. In the days to come the frail black rebuses of blood in those sands would crack and break and drift away so that in the circuit of few suns all trace of the destruction of these people would be erased. The desert wind would salt their ruins and there would be nothing, nor ghost nor scribe, to tell to any pilgrim in his passing how it was that people had lived in this place and in this place died.

>>96315518OP here, sorry for disappearing, am back. Was busy with work on some competition. Thanks for all the interest!>Elemental is an online 1v1 card game where players build their decks and take turns playing cards from them. Their decks start weak, but they can improve them by buying better cards or removing weak ones. Each player also has some mana (used to play cards), gold (used to buy cards) and HP (if it reaches 0, the player loses). Some cards give gold, deal damage or restore HP, while others provide various forms of utility, shielding or buffs. Seven elemental dice determine the strengths of various cards: Chance, Fire, Earth, Water, Nature, Gold and Magic. They are rolled at the start and stay as they are. However, some cards can change the values of these dice, thus changing how strong other cards are.>Elemental scaling is Elemental's core unique mechanic that sets it apart from other games in the genre.>Many cards' descriptions have an element symbol instead of a number, e.g. "Deal Fire damage to your opponent". This means that the amount of damage dealt is equal to the current value of the Fire die. We say that this card scales with Fire. Note that the die is not rerolled when playing such a card.>This mechanic makes dice control (using cards that can change the values of the dice) crucial, as doing this can drastically change the strengths of other cards. One player might have a deck that is on paper 2x stronger, but if all dice it scales with are 2s, while all of the dice the opponent's deck scales with are 7s, the opponent is still stronger.Did some more work on the AI opponent since a lot of people seem to be playing against it.New gameplay showcase is now up: https://youtu.be/F1p0CdXhxBUComment too long. >>96479550>Elemental is an online 1v1 card game where players build their decks and take turns playing cards from them.this part being the only part of the pitch that showed for me in the catalog made me lol
>>96621717I've written a better blurb now btw.Elemental is a 1v1 card battler deckbuilder. Its core unique mechanic is elemental scaling: all attack and restore cards scale with one or more elements, whose values (strengths) are randomized at the start of each game, which makes each game play out differently. Then, various cards are able to change (reroll, increase/decrease, flip, swap) the values of these elements, thus changing how strong other cards are. There are also special Relic cards (somewhat inspired by roguelikes) which (once bought) provide ever-present passive or active effects. Additionally, the game features a fairly unique for its genre shop mechanic, where you pay to refresh the set of purchasable cards, which is however shared with the opponent. There are also new twists on classic mechanics such as face down cards and interruptions, which provide interesting tactical decisions. Lastly, with its two win conditions and multiple possible deck archetypes, the game really rewards adapting to what's available each game.
