How the fuck does this even work?
I wanted to try giving Twilight 2000 a go, but Im having a hard time finding a group and I don't feel ready yet to be a GM.
Then i noticed some people mentioning that they like playing it solo, but i don't really understand.
Isn't the whole point of this to play with people?
How do you handle being a GM controlling everything trying to kill the player if you are also the payer?
How do you handle the unravelling story of a module or a campaign as a player if you already know it as a GM?
What's really stopping you from fudging your own rolls every time so you win all the time?
Whats the point of roleplaying if you are basically mumbling by yourself?
How do you get fun out of this?
Im not really sure if I should give it a go, or instead just try to do my homework and attempt to be a GM for once.

You seem confused about what I said. Describing a feature doesn't imply that the feature has no history in the world. Bridges don't build themselves.

when it comes to initiative: the low rating doesn't mean all his cards are shit and slow. it means that his highest initiative cards are lower initiative than fast characters' highest initiative cards
so when it comes to red vs red or gold vs gold, Brogan isn't going to go first.
i'm sure you did this right, but did everyone at the table realize Brogan needs to move two spaces before attacking with his red? anyone within one space from him is essentially safe unless he swapped into axe throwing after leveling

Cursed character honestly. Good thing she never got pregnant, that kid would have the burden of bad luck on him his whole life.
>>
>>96633621
The thing that was kinda crazy was that this campaign as that character had me thinking about that too... The life of an adventurer would kinda suck because you would either be a heartless bastard that went around knocking barmaids up without a second thought, or you'd be sending gold "home" each week as child support.
>>
>>96633647
I mean, for most kinds of adventurers they wouldn't even realize they have a bastard. Unless they're a strange sort who are localized to within a couple day's travel of their home town or sweetheart's home.

whats a new World of Darkness game line you would like to see? Either because it genuinely adds to the experience or because it would be fun
>Alien: the Invasion
>You are an alien infiltrator that has been sent to Earth because your people have taken an interest in the large amount of extra-ordinary phenomena that have been observed taking place there. You may be there on a genuine scientific expedition in the pursuit of knowledge, a soldier looking for ways to harness these phenomena to your world's own ends, a fugitive in hiding looking to start a new life on Earth (or has already been there for years), a wannabe conqueror who wants to harness these phenomena to achieve their own goals, or a survivor who's been on Earth for years and is desperate to find a way home.
>You and your cadre of fellow extraterrestrials will need to cleverly outwit Technocrats, dodge Werewolves, broker deals with Hunters, and generally survive everything Earth will throw at you until you can complete your mission.
This game is intended to allow you to pull from the rich history of Ayys from decades past and insert one of your choice into WoD:
>comedic aliens like those Mars Attacks, Alf, Coneheads, Paul, Lilo & Stitch,
>serious aliens like Alien, Predator, the Thing, War of the Worlds
and find unique and interesting ways that they might mesh into the greater World of Darkness

then like with any other WoD splat, have multiple zombie types.
The two splat types for zombie are what kind of zombie you are, and what attitude/approach you have towards unlife and undead

>Voodoo Zombies (dead)
>Voodoo Zombies (transformed living)
>Plague/Virus Zombies
>Parasite Zombies
>Evil Curse Zombies (separate to voodoo traditions)

>Spreaders (want to turn everyone)
>(Death) Seekers (cannot die, but want to die)
>Haters (want to ruin the world, separate to "turn people")

How often do you play? This sort of stuff happens all the time at pro play, where politely making known your intention to access public information (contents of graveyard) often telegraph relevant plays. It's not that big of a deal, and the equity you're getting from hiding your intention for such an action is minimal. Just ask your opponent for the text of the card. There's no way you can really read the text on these cards from across the table if you're actually having trouble remembering them anyway, you'll probably need to ask your opponent to read the cards regardless.

That being said, if your problem is poor memorization, then you're probably not going to get too much higher than the average PQ 2-2 player because one of the first steps of mastery of the game is knowing the expected contents of each player's deck and being able to plan around that.

Tell me about weird niche properties that got a tabletop RPG adaption, fan made or official.

I found this from 1980 and through it was weird and interesting. Dallas, the "TV RPG". Who one-shot JR?
https://www.spigames.net/PDFv2/Dallas.pdf

It's a bit of RPG history from the wild west RPG boom, when people were making up new sets of rules, when games came in boxes with punch out cards and chits because it still wasn't quite split off from wargames and board games.

Tell me, anon. When did /yourthing/ get a game? You liked Angel and played the tri-stat game? Babylon 5 d20 RPG? You played every single pokemon tabletop RPG and compared them all in a detailed journal?

Show me the weird RPGs that didn't begin life as RPGs.

>Why yes, I AM a clockwork automaton, thank you for falling for it small boy! i mean noticing! I have traveled to London from my master's secret workshop off the coast of Paraguay(Is it called that yet?) to seek a network of clockmakers to replicate the spell that created me on a massive scale to create an army of clockmen powered by souls. If you see that other guy who looks like he's got lizard scales growing over half his skin he's here to stop me. Now excuse me as I kick him off a roof into the river where you won't find the body. We're going to fight again in 3 weeks you see.

A technology for interuniversal time travel is found and we use it fuck with people in the past by making LARPs in time. Killing natives is fine but killing other larps isn't. Players 'can' die but being uncovered or having their personas revealed isn't. The masquerade is considered a succuss if a majority of people will believe in broad strokes the backstories of some 200 people for the better part of 10 years before they all dip for their next 'season' in some other timeline. Obviously not all fictious identities are created equal (in believability) and the guy in the op who's calling himself a soul powered robot is a lot harder to keep up then one who's pretending to be a real magician pretending to be a normal magician. Or you can be a pussy and just be spring heel jack. Would-be costumed creeps have as much resources as real cosplay/Larp can be expected to drop as much money into the effort as a house plus accounting for their having to be living in the past for months/years of a time. As part of their pre-training for the trip they get primers on how to not be completly out place when/if they go out of costume. The LARPers will have a few 'safehouses' established where people and materials can be shipped in by the truckful so they can collect depletible resources or replacement components to their kits.

The Great Hunger Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online, but are split between the website and the discord. They have all been collected here for your convenience:

Personally I think you need a blance of
> Looks very old-fashioned
> Looks individual and unique

So we can get MHI wearing refined and engineered (not very individual) but its basically old school armour (looks medieval).

Or we can get mecha (not very old-school) being hand crafted by a sect of monks (very unqiue to each mech).

It's a mashup of 1980s-through-modern combat, especially since said Elfish US uses all the experimental shit that the US funded (Steyr ACRs, etc)

Given that Nyarlathotep is their autonomous heart and soul, I think he's representative of the inherent malice in all of them that has simply gained a life of its own.

Basically:
>The Outer Gods (Azathoth, Shub-Niggurath, Yog-Sothoth, etc.) are completely mindless. They're more like living natural disasters than anything else. There are occasional exceptions -- Nyarlathotep is infamously cruel and intelligent, while Yog-Sothoth seems to be able to communicate with humans, but only through using avatars.
>The Great Old Ones are more intelligent, but have their own motivations largely irrelevant to anything humanity does. Mankind's worship is, at best, an occasionally somewhat useful tool that they can use to further their goals; otherwise, they might not even notice it.
>The Elder Gods are not exactly a specific type of entity, but are instead just a collection of Outer Gods and Great Old Ones opposed to the "main" pantheon for whatever reason. Kthanid is sentient, while Bast's "messages" to its followers are basically the equivalent of a monkey smashing the keys of a typewriter until something happens that it likes.
