Do you think the Imperium let the Guard have access to sex servitors like how old European navies let their sailors have sex dolls or Dutch Wives on their ships? Is that too big a luxury for a shitty guardsman? Or is this exactly the "a bullet costs more than a human life" kind of scenario where a decraniated man or woman being a lovedoll is enough of a tiny morale boost that the Imperium rubbestamps the cost?
>>96911374Why, though? If it's just a clone. Don't they just go "say, this one supermodel turned into a criminal and we made her a sex servitor and that was pretty alright. Let's just use her DNA for a bunch of them".Not even adding to the argument of the thread, I'm just asking why cloning a specific attractive human would be any different than cloning a strong one in the vats?
>>96911509>Not even adding to the argument of the thread, I'm just asking why cloning a specific attractive human would be any different than cloning a strong one in the vats?Well, two points.First in general, you'd have epigenetic and other growth factors. The hows and whats of your growing process will have huge affects on your final product.Second, the 40k universe has issues with direct cloning, resulting in duplicates that are cursed or somehow jinxed.
>>96911063They wouldn't but OP is neither the first nor the last faggot engaging in mental gymnastics to somehow justify his fetish.
Why are people geniunely discussing this? It's just a thread made by a faggot and everyone with half-a-brain already explained, multiple times, how retarded "sex-servitors for common grunt" are. All the faggots still arguing for validity of mass produced lobotomized sex slaves, are faggots too stupid to just masturbate instead of whining about their fetish to people on internet. I'm being serious, this thread is just a waste of time, staring at a wall is more fulfilling experience than this.

>>96908154But it's not a middle ground, you absolute tacticslet. If you have a choice between two approaches both of which will render your opponent's vehicle incapable of hurting you if they succeed, and one is FAR more likely to succeed, you're simply a retard if you choose the less likely option. It's too easy to dump a bunch of status effects on a vehicle and render it - functionally - just as useless as if you had blown it up. Maybe in a system that hadn't culled two of its six turns in order to free up time for a faggy little challenge minigame that was a solved problem before the game even officially launched it could have worked, but in 3.0's 4 turn progressive scoring approach being able to pretty reliably lock down opposing vehicles for several of those turns is ridiculous, especially in comparison with how resilient they are against attempts to actually blow them up with proper AT weapons.Every word 3.0tards speak convinces me further that all the bleating and moaning about 2.0 was due to the fact you lot were all fed on a steady diet of lead paint and methylated spirits as children.

>>96911850I'm saying the interesting bit is the retconning nitwit, that's what it's always been. There's like two paragraphs written on these historical events before they expand it, and that's what people want to see.
>>96911599If there's a Techmarine or Magos around said vehicle then they will happily clear all the statuses up with very little effort. Supported vehicles need to actually be killed, or have their repairmen assassinated before you can status them down, so if you can just dump a bunch of hull points onto it it's a much more reliable way to go about things if they actually bring Battlesmith.>>96909041Also helps to make said big tank a transport because superheavies can take multiple units, so you can pile a bunch of guys in your Mastodon and jump them out individually. Good for when you want to skip jump packs on some of your characters, too.

Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.If you're wondering where to start:- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.Thread question: What do you want there to be in the additional 27 pages of the new Basic Set?
>>96905541Future History has a section about determining a society's TL through methods other than raw "what's the most advanced tech available," instead looking at things like rates of energy consumption, degree of urbanization, global per capita income, etc.Anyway, by those methods, modern Earth lands at around TL5 overall, with certain areas (US, Japan, northern Europe, etc.) having High TL and higher Wealth as common traits, just as there are certain areas (rural inland China, parts of Africa, etc.) where Low TL and lower Wealth are common traits.
>>96905941>2 ps5s have the same processing speed as a 2000 super computerHow does one properly represent technology being significantly more powerful, but somehow being able to do far less?
>>96911675Depends on what you mean by far less.If you wanted to play 2025 CoD in 2000 you would have needed to get your hands on one of these super computers. Conversely, our current super computers can do shit the 2000s couldn't even dream of.Current day gamedevs are certainly less skilled than 2000's cutting edge computer scientists, but the same is true today, and they're probably less skilled than 2000's gamedevs too.Perhaps you could represent this by accomplishing things being easier, thus the tools' users' need to be less skilled. If this was a societal trend then advances in Tools could lead to stagnation in Skills, leading to relatively the same outcomes. As much as people like to complain about how bad videogames are today I don't think we're there yet. Yes modern day videogames are bloated beyond belief, but they're also, as a whole, significantly better than 2000's vidya.

Sup /tg/. I come here tonight to present you with The Realm of Yolmi.I first learned about this book years ago while reading the Critonomicon thread on one of the arhives, from this post >>24433917.>I hate to break this to you, OP but this is not the true RPG hunt.>The true all consuming RPG hunt, is the hunt for an intact copy of Realm of Yolmi. This fabled book has gained near legendary status as one of the strangest RPGs ever written. As far as I know, there are no scans. When it came out in 1977, the book had a very small circulation and seeing as it was printed literally on printer paper and bound with plastic rings it should come as no small surprise that very few copies have survived. I chalked it up as a neat little oddity, set an ebay alert, and forgot about it. Just last year a seller with an intact copy posted a listing there, then I shat bricks as I remembered what the hell I was looking at. I managed to be the lucky soul to buy it from him, and then I proceeded to be a piece of shit as I procrastinated fixing my printer and scanning it.Today I finally took 30 minutes to finally troubleshoot my printer, and then spent the next few hours in between handing out candy digitizing this old tome. Did a page check of the PDF and found pages I was missing, also finding out that the book skips page 32 due to a typo, going straight from page 31 to page 33. Regardless, here is the complete work as a searchable PDF for your amusement and bewilderment. The text may not be entirely accurate due to OCR errors.
