>>97207928I like the cityscape backdrop.>Evan DickenI didn't really check out his first Vedra novel, I just had no interest in the character. I've heard his Red Hours novella was pretty cool, but it's been a few years. Shade of Khaine was simply inoffensively adequate. Not great by any stretch, but okay.
>>97208049I think it's by Anna Lakisova. BL commissions her for book covers relatively frequently.
I get being mad at GW but calling whatever CoS had going on 10 years of fluff and world building is kinda pathetic ngl. As someone who’s religiously read early AoS until life decided to fuck me around mid 3rd and I haven’t read much the vast majority of CoS lore was the exact same paragraph, summary, and blurb theme repeated a hundred times. There was barely any exploration, barely any expansion, and next to no modern representation models wise. They were incredibly static even in campaigns where you’d think they’d have a lot of information about them like Firestorm. We can be mad but we gotta be honest man

>>97207867>how the fuck did they get 7.92mm kurz ammo in sufficient quantities?Soviets captured a bunch of German arms and provided them to their allies. This would certainly include stockpiles of munitions. Vietnam was just 20+ years after WW2, so I doubt they burned through all the munitions in that time. It's also possible to convert, say, 8mm Mauser down to 8mm kurz. Or rechamber the gun for something more common, like 7.62x39mm.>Or even a usable number of guns?Soviets. In 2012 in Syria they, reportedly, found a cache of a few thousand StG 44s that were put to use, such as this remote operated turret.

New Vale is controlled by a syndicate of five criminal families collectively known as the Five Fingers, who hold the in their ever-tightening grip.Foremost among them are the Malvrenzi, an old drowish family who dominate the Underlanes borough. While publicly known for their underground clubs and tunnel-smuggling operations, their true power lies in the city’s vast intelligence network; an unseen lattice of secrets, blackmail, and surveillance the Malvrenzi refer to simply as the Whisperweb.

>>97207346Right. It's meant for a series of games based in my part of Canada in an alternate history where a civil war broke out in between ww1 and ww2. That got me interested in VBCW, which seems to be a setting rather than a ruleset.I prefer 28mm, and Im more interested in skirmish level games than large engagements. However, a game that is easily scalable would work out great.Im picturing confusing, raggedy ass street engagements and small rural dust-ups where multiple factions weigh in.
>>97207199>a Very British Civil WarI've never heard of this but it's a cool idea. The idea of burning your country down because your king married a slag is a bit silly though.
>>97207412Any WWI or WW2 will be OKBolt Action or Chain of Command, Nuts or FiveX for skirmish games. But theses rules fit well:https://www.destrancheesauxbarricades.com/index.php/product/rulebook-des-tranchees-aux-barricades-english-version-late-pledge/The point of this kind of hypothetical conflict escapes me, and I wonder how you're going to find suitable figurines.
>>97207754It is meant to be a bit silly. Suffragettes, Mosley's fascists and top hat wearing city bankers shooting it out while the Royal Mail rocket teams bombard the Socialists. It'll work great for a Canadian confederation war.
>>97208034The point is to have fun. As for suitable miniatures, I think any mix of Interwar style British/Canadian troops and contemporary armed civilians would work. Im thinking- british/Canadian troops- commie militias- rural types with guns- various character type minisShouldn't be too hard. Footsores 1914-1939 line looks pretty good

>>97188452To continue more Lazlo fluffing:>Bone Brothers (or The Boners)A biker gang that rides around Lazlo and its satellite communities. Too soft to do the Coalition Goosestep, too hard to so the Lazlo trot, the Bone brothers dont quite fit in. They take up riding in packs on whatever assorted vehicles they can manage to afford or repair favoring motorcycles which they see as an extension of personal independance. They keep a loose military structure in terms of hierarchy, although they make a distinction between their rank in the CS and their rank in the gang. They are to be summed up, riotous oafs. Communities are leary when they here the parade of their bikes and most will decide to close shop early as they come to town. On a good day, they will ride up to the local bar, eat and drink anything not nailed down, and then roll away leaving a mess behind. At worst they are a gang pushing a drunken version of Coalition Law and killing anyone protesting. They argue that crimes committed by members are the fault of the individuals and that the Boners are not responsible, others argue that they are not-so-secret insurgents trying to weaken Lazlo for an invasion. The Brothers are given more slack from authorities under the premise that they are just adjusting to this new life, and roving bands of fighting men does suppress random banditry. What they don't know is that both opinions are true. The Boners are in the middle of a power struggle between the current leader, Bobby Robinson, and his honor guard and a fiery new comer, Ronnie Bibbles. Bobby wants the gang to be an outlet for motor heads and treating soldiers who were made to do bad things. Ronnie is a secret CS spy and wants to take over the brotherhood and create a crime cartel focusing on drug trafficking and political terrorism.
