Shes a Shadowrun fan shoved into being responsible for Battletech too because CGL wont just hire a second person. With how much the times we live in are a giant monkeys paw if they did hire another person itd probably one of the mentally unstable trannies running the gay shrapnel mag

Having to constantly add convoluted inelegant abilities to try to fix issues because your system is beyond groaning about outgrowing itself is bad yes. And then they spedrun it with Gundam that is already fundamentally broken and it isn't even 3 releases in

Blast Digivolve. Literally just that piece of shit solution to lack of interactivity and the game being in a bad state and how convoluted it is

Also not understanding what should or should not be a keyword for brevity

>[When Digivolving] You may play 1 level 5 or lower yellow or purple card from your hand or trash without paying the cost. Then, if this Digimon's stack has 2 or more same-level cards, trash the top cards of both players' security stacks so that they have 3 cards left.

This is objectively a fucking disaster for no reason but because there's a fuckload of effects doing almost the same thing that aren't consolidatable the result is this shit constantly. If your single effect needs 3 clauses spelled out it needs to be a keyword, period. But they can't. Every trainer having the 'if you have X type digimon, add 1 memory lol" which is somehow not a keyword. Scrying isn't some kind of keyword and is spelled out every time.

would it be balanced to just have

Vindicator Knight {1WB}
Creature - Human Knight
First strike
When this creature enters, destroy target nonland permanent.
2/2

I think we've gotten to the point where standard is such a pushed fast format where this would be a perfectly fair card
they'd still be too big of pussies to make it destroy lands but that would also one-up fulminator mage so no thanks

my setting has the players fight as civilian monster hunters (ala a civilian militia), and they're all incentivized to customize their mechs for branding to receive better recognition and contracts, so it greatly varies based on region and personal aesthetics. Some people use the parts as they come, while some come up with shit that makes them look like they're 12. It doesn't help there are widespread artisan-mechanic guilds that are paid to do this work with specialized tools and materials. The military itself uses basic muted colors for their mechs or camo, and leaders get a special mark to distinguish them.

People that know Lancer, I need to know if this works.

Quick Action - SSC Javelin Rockets in a line behind target
Overcharge - Javelin #2 to fill in the empty spaces
Skirmish - Walking Armory Thumper, Stormbringer 2 Lightning, Concussion Missiles.

6 squares of knockback through 6 javelins for a grand total of 1d3+18 kinetic, before nuke cav or overpower caliber, assuming the hull save failure. 9 if they succeed.

Yes?
>>
>>97262762
your GM might rule that you can't put the 2nd Javelins adjacent to the 1st, but that's up to him, otherwise it seems like a good damage dealer in exchange for an overcharge and a limited system use assuming you manage to hit everything and the enemy fails all their saves

Do Clan Pestilens Skaven and Nurglite factions get along? I know that's kind of anathema to how Skaven work but you'd think their would at least be a commonality between the two. When running Curse of Strahd, my players (or at least the face) had thought Strahd to be misunderstood, especially after hearing about his curse.
I thought that was well and good, but Strahd is a motherfucker, and I intended to make that clear. So during the dinner party, he had a charmed Milivoj and Father Lucian come out. (If you don't know, Milivoj stole some bones from a cathedral that Strahd couldn't enter cause of said bones. The only person that knows of the theft of the bones is Father Lucian of the cathedral.)
Strahd told the party that he was a fair and just man and asked if they believed the law as something to always be followed. They agreed, and Strahd was only happy to hear that, since he decided that since the party was such a paragon of law and order, they should decide the fates of Lucian and Milivoj. Lucian's crime was being complicit in endangering the lives of the Vallakians by not bringing up Milivoj's theft of the bones, and Milivoj's crime was stealing the bones. Because the way Vallaki is, they'd be put to death either way, so he tasked the players with deciding who should be punished.
Milivoj was chosen, and Strahd had him bow his head at an altar so that they (he and his brides) could slit his throat and drink straight from the source while the party watched. (At that point, Father Lucian had been uncharmed so he could watch too.)
It made for a very establishing moment, and led to the party rethinking their strategy of how they were going about in Barovia.

I'm also running Lost Mines as a first time DM with similar levels of grey to you, I think:

>Goblins are just evil fucks out for themselves
>Iarno Albrek was supposed to start a constabulatory in Phandalin, ended up finding a cursed glass staff in Tressendar Manor that bid him to do evil things, and he ended up bringing in like-minded individuals to be his muscle, creating the Redbrands
>the Many Arrows Orcs were displaced from their lands around Icespire Peak by a white dragon and are now raiding to survive while the tribal elders debate trying to take back their old home or taking their tribe elsewhere, either integrating with the existing peoples or taking over by force
>the Drow clan in the area, lead by the Black Spider, were warned by a prophecy that a great cataclysm would befall the land and are trying to secure the power of the fabled Forge of Spells by force in order to combat this
>Venomfang is trying to bring about said cataclysm and is utilizing dopplegangers to introduce instability in the land by playing the various other factions against each other

I get the feeling my party wants to have a little bit of morality to sift through but not to make too many hard moral choices. They might also decide to join up with one of the evil factions. I'm excited to see what happens.

Lol, Empireaboo mad as per usual. Newsflash Gordo, the good guys do always win and the bad guys do always lose, it's a fairytale in space. By the way, I don't mock you because you like the Empire, the Empire are cool, I mock you because you *don't* like the Empire, you're just too much of a fucking coward to collect WW2 Nazi armies like so you obviously want to.
>>
>>97262215
I don't get your schizo rant
My point is you need the villains to be a fucking threat to make victories look important. If the Empire always loses then it makes them a total fucking joke and the OT becomes pointless cause the Rebels would have won anyways. It's why George made the Empire win various times in the OT: they take over the Tantive, they successfully kill Ben, they win all throughout ESB and both Yavin and Endor are barely victories with tons of Rebel casualties. Lucas knew how to make the Empire threatening, Henry doesn't
This is the exact same thing we all complained about with TCW, the Republic always wins and the CIS always loses which makes the war a fucking joke.
>>
>>97262208
yeah just like that. I think the ak has almost enough greebly details as is, it just needs some fantastical aspect to it to help it blend into the setting.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

The Hide in Shadows change looks related to the Combat Backstab interpretation, if you can't move how the fuck are you backstabbing and since you now CAN move while in hiding, they probably nerfed the Move Quietly to make it fair.

But fuck if I know for sure and I'm not getting paid for defending whatever stupid shit Finch et al thought cute to play with so whatever.
>>
>>97259820
Hide in Shadows isn't a requisite for a successful backstab, however.

This is funny, because Gygax in the DMG says the Hide in Shadows (in OSRIC only Hide) is one of the most abused ability by players. What Finch do? Make the ability more powerful

Does anyone have a copy of (pic related)? - Hail Caesar: Rome's Conquest of the East.

Bronze Age collapse

I just painted my first minis ever. I'm painting 15mm Germans and Americans. It looks meh. Besides the stupid skin tone which I will fix after buying some more paint tomorrow, what can I improve? (The base isn't primed yet, ignore that)

Dunno really, more interested in good rules rather than particular eras which tends to push me towards popular eras with more attention from rules writers. Sam Mustafa's Aurelian is on the cards down the track though, and I'd love to run Over The Hills and Far Away but that would be a big project readying it.

anyone know any cults/my mini factory makers of 30yw/english civil war era miniatures? Thus far Atlantic Games has a pretty solid line of renaissance era stls, and I've found the odd miniature arquebusier character on cults, but not much else.
