Before getting serious training, I must figure out that cleaning problem. Since spraying itself works fine and problem arise when I clean for color change, it must be result of leftover paint accumulation between cup and the tip. Those are generally the best kind of people to ask. They are oftentimes just happy to talk about the craft, casually giving you a trove of knowledge that others gatekeep behind patreonwall. Also, if he's doing classic art with the airbrush, he might give you some good advice on art airbrush paints, some brands are supposedly excellent (like Schmincke Aero) and mogg the fuck the hobby ones.

I generally pour out the paint > squirt water inside from a bottle until only mostly clean water comes out (I have a bottle with an applicator, but bottles for ketchup will also do) > pour full cup of the water > backbrap > pour the dirty water out > repeat > another full cup > spray it all out through airbrush > put in new paint.

Wait so hold on. The booby traps you set here don't actually... do anything. They don't explode. They don't even slow down the opponent. Not even the lazy route of making it dangerous terrain. They just do literally nothing on their own. All they do is give you bonus VP for killing guys standing near them. So the traps themselves add ZERO fucking lethality or even "disruption" which is the whole point.

GW is trying to pull a fast one on us pretending to make more narrative mission rules while putting out dogshit like this that is literally functionally IDENTICAL to "raising banners", just pointless action monkey shit that doesn't have any real narrative mechanic to it, reskinned over and over. It's obvious they didn't even playtest this, or someone would have asked during a game "uh, so, what do the traps actually DO", they just shit this out probably with ChatGPT and slapped it on some cardboard and expect us to shell out to buy the mission deck like good goyim.

I'm so fucking sick of it, man. 11th edition already looks like a flop between this and the extremely boring models they're showing off. I know it won't actually be a flop because people keep paying but like, why. At what point do we just collectively decide to play a better older edition and 3D print all the models?

You fight round by round, but yes, unless one party dies, routs, or withdraws in good order (which is also a non-voluntary action in Chainmail proper, the result of a mildly failed morale roll, but can be assumed to be voluntary for PCs in D&D whio have no morale scores since the player's feeling about how the battle is going constitutes their morale) the melee will continue. Note though that in Chainmail itself there are no hit points, so the assumption of the MTM rules as written is that there won't be that many rounds of melee since one combatant or the other will just die.

The animated series, which was made to directly lead to the film, shows a zoomed out view of the battle with probably hundreds of ships. We don't see that many in the film, but the film mostly has relatively closed up shots, primarily following Anakin and Obi-Wan flying to Grievous' flagship, so we never really see the entire battle. Even the relatively small slice of it that we do see has dozens of ships packed in close together, so there could easily be several hundreds or thousands in the orbit around Coruscant.

20 000 ISDs would mean about a squadron of ISD per sector. In practice, I would assume sectors with important locations like the Imperial capital or major shipyards would have more ISDs stationed there, while backwaters in the outer rim would have only one or none at all. Reading TPM novel and never knew that Anakin found and saved a Tusken only to be found by more Tuskens that then left him in peace. All because he thought the stories everyone said about them can't be true.
Poetry was missed.

Two sessions into an EoTE game too, an ex scout trooper (me) crash landed onto an uncharted world where I encountered an OOM pilot droid (other player) who was the only droid left from a crashed munificent.
Over a bunch of hijinks we encountered other survivors and stole their ship to get off world. We decided after that session we want to form a droid army gang and repair the munificient. The planet was luckily near Geonosis so in session 2 we went there and I almost died after stumbling into a cave of Massifs. Luckily we found a door in the cave which led to a battle droid factory still being guarded by 1 B1 and 1 B2.
I got blasted to unconsciousness by them and the OOM managed to deceive them into not attacking anymore. And then convinced them I was a CIS operative and that he is in command now.
I got healed up but the factory is in shambles so we only managed to fully complete a further 9 B1s and 2 B2s.
We decided to go to Tatooine next to see if we can find parts and make credits to get a bigger ship to transport a workforce to the munificient. While there I went into a bacta tank for a day while the OOM went about Mos Shutta doing basic bounties and surprisingly murking everyone he needed to.
He's been wearing a cloak to not be seen as a battle droid. So when I got out of the bacta we had a nice stack of credits and no trouble. Next we went to Mos Eisley to do a bounty for a Hutt and our session ended right as we were standing over our bounty. He was in a warehouse of corpses and trying to smooth talk us but the OOM blasted his brains out.

Mandrakes would be pretty strange, their rules are so specific. Metamorphs have hand flamers though, so maybe you could tool them up to be novitiates or sanctifiers? It would require a bit of conversion and a few extra models almost certainly but it could work really well.
Otherwise, check how goats would work.

I thought about Mandrakes exactly because of the sneaky theme, low armour, only 4 specialists for less conversion and i thought they the basesize was the same. Now i see it is different. Mandrakes have 28 and Metamorphs 32, like marines. For Sanctifiers and Novitiates the theme feels less fitting and the equipment differs way more. Even if i could improvise most of it for Sancts excluding the Missionary.

I wouldn't go that far, since the fanon does need at least some loose connection to the canon in order to make some vague kind of sense. Also, if you enjoyed wasting that time, then you didn't waste it.

When I started thinking of Lancer this way, as a wargame with with visual novel segments in between skirmishes, it made a lot more sense. I really fucking hate that, but it's at least more coherent then I originally gave it credit for. I think it says a lot about the (fucking baffling) priorities of the devs that the combat works so well but it has very little backing it up.
Either way a DM worth his salt can make the narrative engaging. But then a good DM and good group could make a chess work as a ttrpg.

Lancer would be better with less narrative functionality imo. They try to take a hardline order-of-operations approach to freeform when less would be more.
