RIP Lynchman 1-year anniversary edition

>QOTD
Do you gravitate towards arthouse or classics? Why? What draws you to a particular style of cinema?
Is there really any 'true' division between the two, or have we just tricked ourselves?

Eh, can't really do a film in New York without it being crowded. It's passe as a setting now though.

Saturation will lead to distaste and disengagement. Entertainment changes is a red herring anyway. When you can hand wave away war crimes and incriminating footage as AI and forge credible-enough videos of people you dislike, truth goes out the window and tribalism and justification to persecute innocents increases. Besides auto weaponry and other obvious military applications, AI's real threat will be its ability to manipulate news cycles more than propaganda already does. Michael Jackson won't just be accused of pedophilia, somebody will make credible footage of him performing sex crimes, and if enough people decide that it's true, willfully ignoring the possibility that it isn't, then it's good enough and he goes to jail. But this will happen to smaller people with no defense, too. Talking about movies, games, and students submitting shitty Chatgtp essays is nothing compared to the implications it will have on perceptions of truth.
>>
>>217395794
Its gonna be the same impact as Youtube creators had, they basically start to become part of mainstream. AI content creators will become mainstream

Nobody is gonna watch a film that is just an 90 minutes of me but 10 feet tall and made of 900 lbs of pure muscle using my three foot long prehensile penis to murder journalists and brown "people" except me
So, since there would be no one to discuss my magnum opus with I would get pretty bored and want to watch someone else's creation so at least I could talk about the parts I liked and hear other people's point of view.
>>
>>217395794

what even was the issue with this anyway
were the ships shields supposed to just shrug off a projectile travelling at fucking warp speed? It makes sense how much damage it did

Why didn't they do this in New Hope or Return of the Jedi? Like why go to all that trouble to get the plans and do those dangerous runs where a ton of people died if you could just kamakazi one person and one ship in and win?

Like I wasn't really paying attention to be honest because this shit was boring as fuck so I might have missed it, but like when I thought about it later it just made the rebels in the OT seem really fucking retarded

Yeah I was too surprised/disappointed to gt Tate in that role but then use almost none of her comedic sensibility. I mean I get the whole progression of comdian-actor but I was always sort of waiting for her to wreck the doctor with how funny she is, which distracted somewhat from the more dramatic part she was actually playing. A problem entirely in my own head.

I think Mary Tamm is still my fave.

>>217393136
The one where she gets mind swapped and becomes really horny. Can't remember the episode name but it's 10's first proper story, it's set in some hospital run by cat people in the far future.

they were retarded they could have waited a while before trying to run the park. they didn't need rails and cars they could have used helicopters even have landing sites designed that no dinosaur could get up there to view them. they could have made even more money using their dropping as potential fertilizers and their blood and organs for science, heck they could even just add cameras all over the park and sell the documentaries to whoever with no casualties ever being possible

They played with this idea in an annoying way in the first Jurassic World. They had a minigun mounted on a helicopter with plenty of ammo and the decision to fill the Indominus with lead until it dropped. Then they pulled out a deus ex machine with pterosaurs and crashed it. It was such a frustrating cock tease. I appreciate that the plot pacing required the big bad not dying yet, but it would be so refreshing to see them depict a T-Rex dino being smoked with superior firepower and military discipline. Film makers absolutely love "subverting expectations", the audience would love it too in this case.
>>
>>217396942
