this, the retardation of zoomers was inevitable when you realize a majority of their parents come from the “dude! whatever! Kurt cobain!” generation.
>>
>>217368685
In our defense we thought the world was going to end post 1999, when it didn't we just found ourselves existing.

Boomers will only transfer the power when they die, they hold onto it tightly. We could take it from them, but it would only lead to the same results we've seen when boomers try to take power from other boomers. The grand strategy is to wait and bide our time and not repeat the mistakes of the boomers.

Zoomers don't complain as much as milennials and seem show the same stoic indifference to the entropy of existence as Gen X does. We will see.
>>
>>217368933
At least he had an apartment and a salary that could support retirement. The vast majority of Zoomers will never have that.

At the time, there was very little difference between the French and the British. All their nobles spoke French and the war was due to British King having French blood and claiming land on the continent. The French only became different after the Hundred Years War when Paris exerted its control over the other provinces.

>It was the worst punishment for a devout christian, because you don't get buried and your cinders get thrown in the wind. Not to mention the pain of course.

This is not true. Historical documents show that in the vast majority of cases victims passed out or even died from smoke inhalation before the fire even reached them. Often the crowd would throw flammable things onto the pyre to make this happen quicker

Likewise, while it was a punishment often reserved for people deemed heretical (not even in directly anti Christian ways, but in ways that violated the Christian order, e.g. treason would be considered blasphemous due to the idea that lords and kings had a divine mandate)

The actual practice of burning at the pyre was symbolic in that they would hopefully be purified before receiving gods judgement. And thus hopefully go to heaven

One of the interpretations of the Delayed Choice Quantum Eraser experiment (indeed, the standard one) is that retrocausality (effect preceding cause) CAN occur as long as no definitive evidence is left that this has occurred.

...So, seen this way, Terminator 2 is actually REQUIRED by Terminator 1.

The first Terminator has a massive effect (the destruction of the world) being caused by an acausal event (the discovery of time-displaced super-advanced Neural Net technology by Cyberdyne).

The second movie ERASES most of these effects, thus arguably making the time-loop that causes them possible in the first place.

At the end of Terminator 2, the number of paradoxical events is greatly reduced.

Arguably, there are none left at all - the effects of the Terminators and Kyle Reese could conceivably be the result of a Boltzmann Baby-type occurrence: an incredibly unlikely event creating a short-lived living thing.

Mindboggling unlikely, but not necessarily paradoxical as long as it doesn't violate conservation laws.

...And now, having written the Nerdiest thing that anyone in the world will write today, I will go and do something more constructive:

For anyone else that might be reading, I'll do a run down, you can see I prefer the sci-fi stories over the fantasy ones.

>Examination Day
Simple future story, can get you into this 1980's series
>To See the Invisible Man
Another future story, but with a much stronger plot and interesting twist on society
>The Star
Very sci-fi, and barely a twilight zone at all. It's really just a short story playing out with some thought provoking questions on alien life.
>The Toys of Caliban
Written by George R R Martin and it's very his style and unsettling, this one stayed with me.
>A Game of Pool
Remake of the original, but felt it was well acted and directed. Hard to do a whole episode on pool, but they do a good job.
>Many, Many Monkeys
Doctors dealing a disease, but also how they deal with grief and move from the suffering of the world

Ehhh I just really like 1960's cinema in general but never really watched any tv shows until I found TTZ. The episodes are kind of like low budget short films. I don't mind newer or older stuff but right now I just really feel like watching something from that era with a similar vibe. I'll keep your reccs in mind and I have seen Last Year at Marienbad. If you liked it yourself you should see the lesser known ones by Alain Resnais. Personally I really love Mon Oncle D'amerique and Je T'aime... Je T'aime (this one is actually a sci fi story set in Belgium/France in the late 60's, it's about a suicidal guy that wants to use a time machine to see his dead girlfriend again, but then it malfunctions and he gets stuck in a time loop or something. It's very surreal and late 60's, I'd definitely call it an underrated gem)
>>217367902
I don't really like anything David Lynch but i'll check out the other show ty for the reccs anon.
>>217368005
>There is an episode actually called almost exactly that, but- i won't spoil it
I've seen like 90% of the show that's why I'm looking for something new and yes 100% agree on the show mostly being about human interaction/nature with a scifi twist. The particular episode you mentioned got parodied in Either Futurama or The Simpsons not that long ago I believe.
>Black Mirror
Yeah miss me with that shit I don't even have to watch 5 minutes of the first episode to know I won't like it lol I might see an episode or 2 of TTZ reboot that the Mad TV guy did for the lolz
>>
>>217368698
>The Curious Case of Edgar Witherspoon
the original of that story is far better. I was searching for it for years, then someone 15-20 years ago told. me where is was from and then I forgot it. wasn't t a twilight zone
>>
>>217368698
of the 80s series, a couple of the only ones that stuck with me were "the cold equations" and "a little peace and quiet".
