Friendly reminder that the creator learned that people on 4chan liked his comic and the huge tonal heel-turn was specifically done out of spite because he had a vague idea of what 4chan even was. Nigga literally tossed his own work in the garbage just because some people he didn't like in an imaginary sense were enjoying it. Fucking mental.
>>151737524I heard that Two Annies was fun from people here and I will admit that kind of stupid shit opens the doors to a lot of incredible story opportunities that even if stupid can be incredibly entertaining but I can't go back and read it.When I say I can't imagine what kind of person engages in those threads I mean that but obviously those people exist and I can't imagine who they are in person. I have never met people so horribly broken that they engage with such a horrible product out of habit. I mean how do you go through life and not find something better, better enough that you stop reading something that has so little stakes as Gunnerkrigg.>>151737563>learned that people on 4chan liked his comic and the huge tonal heel-turn was specifically done out of spiteI know he started to fucking hate us on 4chan but I can't imagine he murdered his own comic out of spite that is totally insane. Nobody fucking writes dodgeball to spite someone - that is simply incompetence and at best mimicing Dragon Ball. "I wrote the dodgeball arc to spite 4chan" - actual insanity.
>>151737219Difference being that Poppy stopped updating almost immediately after switching.
>>151737607I just read the update in the morning from my feed and move on, haven't posted in the actual threads in years now. Again it's really just sheer habit from me, it's just kind of... there. Like how you might read a.Sunday funnie but it's Gunnerkrigg.Holy shit typing that out really made me realize how far it's fallen. Damn.
>>151736596>What the hell? The TL;DR is that the artist got a girlfriend that is a crazy yaoi fangirl. This completely shifted his personal life and the goals of the webcomic.
I am finally watching the new seasons of Futurama after giving up two eps in when it was airing. I just got to the COVID episode and am not impressed...do the next season's get any better?
>do the next season's get any better? No. There's one or two good episodes per season but the rest is just nothing, it's honestly even worse than Zombie Simpsons

Also known as "The YA dragon books/comics for kids to young to remember what warrior cats was." Well we're here. This is a big one. Darkstalker is something of a big deal as WoF books go. Widely considered the 'best' book of the series with three POVs for a mid-arc prequel dropped before the Talons of power which by some good juggling on the WoF team's part is set to release right after this. The art is by one Jake Parker who was brought in since Mike has his plate full doing the main series. But enough prattling about the Scavengers, this is Darkstalker, and now you get to experience it as a comic.THREE DRAGONS. ONE DESTINY.THIS IS THE BEGINNING... OF THE END...In the SeaWing kingdom, a young prince learns he is an animus capable of wonderful magic that comes with a terrible price. In the mind of a Nightwing dragonet, a thousand futures unfold and almost all of them, she knows, lead to disaster and destruction. And under three full moons and the watchful eyes of his NightWing mother and IceWing father, the most powerful dragon Pyrhhia will ever know is clawing his way out of his egg: Darkstalker, the dragon who will change the world forever.Long before the SandWing war, lifetimes before the Dragonet Prophecy. darkness is born.>-Quote on BackcoverRegular words of introduction do not suffice for...DARKSTALKERhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUcrFKHMZ-kComment too long. >>151736221>Mao alone starved 30.000.000 people to death.Yes, he did, due to a combination of local officials being too afraid to report that their peasantry needed help leading to help not getting sent to those in need and even food that could have helped prevent famine being exported while people starved, severe weather destroying crop yields, that bullshit with the sparrows, and Lysenkoism. The moral of the story being anti-science bullshit is bad, the environment should be protected, and authoritarian regimes that leave people too afraid to report failure are bad actually.Meanwhile, Britain starved 3.8 million people in India through deliberate neglect, inflation, and the extraction of resources for troops. The moral of the story being shut your whore mouth.

Was Hawkgirl really second most famous DC heroine back in 2001?
I don’t know why but I really like the guardian episode of american dad, especially this scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jod0xfh7xDk Something about it feels like an anti finale, literally telling the viewer that no matter what, the show will always eventually come back, whether it be a season after a long drought or even a reboot or revival, you can’t kill it. I honestly feel like this mentality can apply to most /co/ media, like name me one piece of /co/ media you are 100% sure will never get a comeback.
>>151735773A lot of the season felt like them thinking about the show possibly dying now that I think about it, especially the mountain climbing episode and the greek episode
It qas ok but them maki gkamala harris presidentAnd then not proceeding to make fun of her at all despite being the most ridiculous person to ever had the political spotlight on them in history was really annoying. The woman has been droolingky intoxicated in cspan in her capscity as vice president, multiple times, and she wasnt the butt of a single joke. They jnfact portrayed her as competent and serious.

>>151736791Entirely depends on their goal and approach along with how experienced Lucy is. Generally speaking, trying to deal with a somewhat decent mage head on with them aware is going to result in a bad time. Though Marauders (Lucy's mage type) can also be fucked with by their own insanity.
>>151732553Kek
>>151736791>>151737068Mages are strong, no doubt, but they're gimped by the fact that none of what they do is "real", in the strictest sense of the word. And the more consequences their spells have, the harder it is to get around that - this is called "paradox", and if enough of the universe "notices" the discrepancy, it retaliates by wiping the mage from existence. They need to either rely on indirect, secondary effects, or do things in such a way that there are no witnesses. Marauders are insane and therefor don't bother with subtlety, so they're much more dangerous to themselves and others. The problem is, Lucy's insanity is pretty minor by the standards of mad mages, so she's not causing much paradox. But if Mike/Daisy/Paulo keep their confrontations with Lucy in public, it will limit the effects Lucy can manifest and maximize the paradox she'll incur if she does. At which point the question is whether Lucy's magic is subconscious, in which case she'll basically just be a normal person so long as she's under enough scrutiny, or if she's fully aware she's a mage, in which case they'll have a mutually assured destruction situation where Lucy can destroy them instantly, but then she'll be destroyed by paradox.
Is anyone reading this comic? It's a wild elseworld.

Why do people like Roger but hate Quagmire when they're basically the same type of character?
>>151730283But I HATE Roger...
>>151730283Lol I dunno
>>151730283Quagmire just goes back and forth on what he is and it's annoying.Roger is a Bender-tier jerk that's also funny and has a cool gimmick with his personasAll fagmire does is say the same catchphrase over and over.
>>151730283They're not. Quagmire is an obnoxious, self-righteous, hypocritical rapist that never faces consequences. Roger is an obnoxious, charmingly self-absorbed hedonist that very regularly gets comeuppance for his shitty behavior. It's fine for a character to be a piece of shit, but only if they're charming and learn lessons occasionally.
>>151730283Roger didn't grow increasingly jaded as American Dad went on. Hell, that doesn't just apply to Quagmire come to think of it. MOST Family Guy main cast members quit being as fun to watch after a certain while
I love Wonder Woman
>>151736733WE love Wonder Loli too
>>151736825Welp it was obvious this would be the best one.>Wonder Woman (2017)Who would have thought that the DCEU, which had exclusively made garbage schlock up until this movie's release, would end up making one of the best representations of WW1 from mainstream Hollywood?A great use of setting, WW2017 makes its themes of war and the nature of humanity very apparent by utilizing one of the darkest and most morally grey conflicts in history. Gal Gadot gives her first and only good performance, and Chris Pine is excellent at a wonderful interpretation of Steve Trevor. The movie is thoughtful in regards to war, takes it very seriously. It is really impactful and striking seeing Diana, clad in her Wonderful armor, fight against the Germans to save that poor Belgian town. The extended cast of human, non-powered supporting characters are great. I still remember being moved by that sniper who was too shell shocked to shoot. It's unfortunate the ending had to go to the standard superhero action battle. The movie would have been much more poignant and meaningful had the Greek Pantheon not exist, but Diana would still fight for the good in the world anyway. There are few complaints I have about this movie, I think it's my favorite superhero film. Maybe even better than 1978's Superman.8.5/10
>>151736702Yes though the recent Mouse Man arc by Tom King dragging as much as the Sovereign story did.The fill in writers are the ones actually dealing with the lore and continuity like how the Amazons react to Diana having a daughter. What’s Nubia’s reaction. Where are the other villains, etc.And King relies too fucking much on Batman and Superman in Diana’s comic as if they were her only supporting cast.
>>151736702I'm buying Absolute Wonder Woman, but the main book right now is pretty lame. Tom King manages to be too serious to be fun and too poorly paced to be engaging
>>151736908i think im the only person who liked the wonder woman soundtrack/theme
