Now that the Chink chimpout over the $11B Taiwan weapons deal and most recent numbers print from their imploding economy has wrapped up, I want to tally some numbers for the 'explicitly presented as the largest-ever military exercise around Taiwan'. This exercise was also explicitly stated as a blockade exercise vs the strike exercises of 2024.Taiwanese sources have reported that >6:00 a.m. Dec 29 - 6:00 a.m. Dec 30, 130 PLA aircraft detected. 14 PLAN warships + 14 CCG vessels.>6:00 a.m. Dec 30 – 6:00 a.m. Dec 31 Aircraft: 77 PLA aircraft detected. 17 PLAN warships + 8 CCG vessels. What's so damming to me is that the area of operations for the exercises were 2x larger than that of the 2024, and 3x that of the 2022 Pelosi chimpout. Yet there were less aircraft than in 2024, 130 in a single day vs 150 in a single day. The sorties also started slow, taking till the mid afternoon to get to peak detection rates as per Taiwan MOD. So this is where I really get to the main bit. A blockade requires substantially more sorties, I'm talking 48 sorties just to get 8 planes on CAP for 24h. Yet the PLA did only 130 in a day, barely enough for a dozen planes to be on 24h CAP. There's just no excuse. You NEED to have CAP or else US and Jap planes can just sneak in and rape you. The second day is so pathetically bad with 77 aircraft so I don't even wanna talk about it, just assume it's 2x worse. So you've got what is >supposed to be the biggest exercise ever>covering an area 2x bigger than previous ones>supposedly have 1600 aircraft stationed east of Beijing>yet can only muster up 130 sorties 6 hours laterImplessive. My theory is that the PLA airforce not only has a low readiness, but the logistics are so fucked that they actually can't turn around airplanes fast enough with things as basic as fuel.picrel is taiwan missilehttps://news.usni.org/2025/12/31/china-wraps-justice-mission-taiwan-blockade-drillsComment too long. >>64705133>Japan's also apparently dedicated to defending taiwan which explicitly involves G6any absolutely shit-retarded behavior by Japan to that order will be 'unilateral' and they will be completely on their own with whatever actions they take, especially if they decide on "collective suicide" by making taiwan their business, when it absolutely is NOT

https://nextgendefense.com/poland-invisible-shield/>Poland’s STRATUS system uses high-intensity electromagnetic pulses to disable hostile drones, creating an “invisible shield” without explosive or kinetic effects.
>>64690721So it's a win-win?
>>64709915Which one of them has stuck their dick inside it?
>>64709915Normally it would be combined with a parabolic refector or a metamaterial lens. They may have perfected the single cycle Doughnut (toroidal) pulse with such a device.
>>64709915Also, that's not 'huge'.Most non nuclear EMP projectors take up the size of a semi truck trailer.Google THOR by either Lockheed Martin or Raytheon. EMP pulsers can be the size of artillery cannons easy enough... certainly doesn't mean they can't be mobile.I'm surprised by the lack of intelligence on this board. I thought you people knew tech, apparently not. Must just be a bunch of dumb Eglin nigger kikes who run this board eh?
>>64710821With a horn antenna and the proper timing and switching circuits, you can produce a perfectly radial or azimuthal polarized pulse. With the right kind of reflector or lens, you can focus that pulse below what would normally be the defraction limit of a typical linearly polarized beam/pulse.If I had to guess, they are perfecting the single cycle radial pulse with such things.

Pistol related but last question thread died a while ago. Are all 1911 .45 barrels interchangeable with all other 1911 models? I've got a Kimber and want a threaded barrel for it and I'm wondering if I should just get a Kimber barrel for it.
What are these tiny things in my M96 bolt ?
>>64709363147gr or higher hollowpoints. They'll be quieter inside and you don't have to worry about over expansion due to the extra velocity out of a carbine barrel. >>64710595Popped primers bro.
>>64708241He may have just brought it back for shits and grins. It's not as if there weren't tens of thousands of Garands and Carbines (and other stuff) being used by the RVN forces and the ROK forces.
>>64708764In an extreme case, "Yes" (with caveats) , but only if the thing is such a soup-sandwich of faggotry and fail that you cannot hold it and get a clear, repeatable sight picture.
>>64710595Those are M96 seeds. If you plant those you'll grow a whole M96 tree that will bloom every May.
Was Flak useless or just a bad choose against bombers? The window to shoot them was tiny and the fragmentation radius was too small, it need almost a direct hit with time or proximity fuse.It only make sense when you don't have fuel and aluminium for your interceptor planes.
>>64705305You don't need to force the bomber to actively evade. Just having heavy flak present means bombers are forced to fly higher to increase survivability against it. And in a WWII context that means their accuracy goes to shit.
>>64706300Night raids were just as bad. There's A LOT of shit that can go wrong.
>>64709584>I recall a book about the stg-44 mentioning that the germans were incapable of producing as much 8mm as they were consuming. That's because it was surprisingly widely adopted for a late war invention, I guess.
flak was the best they had and main point was to force bombers high so they are inaccurate and at least try to shoot down
>>64708368Flak shot down 2x the amount of bombers as fighters German Flak was highly effective and had complex and accurate targeting systems
Why isn't the 5.56 RDB more popular? I shot one at the range today as it was extremely pleasant to shoot. Nice trigger and adjustable gas system
>>64700485i should get one of those, its basically the only IL legal bullpup
>>64703194Disappointment
>>64698062G3 magazines would have been a poor choice because they don't have a bolt hold open tab and they are only cheap because of a huge glut of surplus. That has been drying up for years and prices have been going up.The only good magazine pattern for a modern 7.62x51mm rifle would be the DPMS/SR-25 AR-10 pattern. It doesn't require locking in, it has a bolt hold open, good availability, low cost and a robust enough design.
>>64703194its ok. not the best but an ok rifle

It's barely visible, but her thumb does hit it at the same time her other fingers touch the carry handle.
>>64710659Nah, that was someone else. Probably the same person I stole the webm from on /tv/.
>>64710662Why are you posting this?
>>64710706Well, one: I want to know what kind of gun this is if it is not an M-16, when it damn well looks like an M-16.Second: I want to know if what she is doing with her thumb is normal. She's clearly doing it to keep the magazine from sliding out.
>>64710746Hello fren. Beginner shooter here. I have some 200 hours of AR15 training and have never seen anyone to operate the charging handle this way. I just tried it at home and it is straight up impossible. Also it looks like she is reloading; in that case you only need to hit the bolt release button.
>>64710807Yeah it's really weird the showrunners decided to draw attention to such a strange thing.>Inb4 "Stranger Things" pun
Why do third world shitholes rely on centralized defense that can crumble in 3 JDAM strikes and not on decentralized massive militia (paramilitary/national guard) network equiped with smart ammo like Ukraine in 2021?
>>64710708You mean the ones that had to put down a rebellion every 10 years?
>>64710692garbage militias that are politically alligned are a core component of dictatorships and tyrannies see the red guards, paramilitary goon squads groups that act death squads and enforce vililange capital punishment are the first step for anti democratic movements and neo marxist terrorist groups
>>64710330I mean, Venezuela actually relied on manpad spam than it's big iron SAMs.They even made a big thing of showing the t shirt militia guys with them. For larger systems they had 2 S-300 and like 8 buks and allegedly a lot more Pechora of dubious readiness for what they're worth.

According to images from recent military drills and some Marines talked about it on the Internet. The Republic of China (Taiwan) Marine Corps decided to replace all their T65s and T91s with US supplied M4A1 carbines, instead of buying the new T112 assault rifles. Do you guys think it's a good idea? Dumping the short stroke gas piston and go back to DI.
>>64710757its just taiwan
That puts their guys in a slightly better position to receive future aid and overall they really can't exist without the US so being under the US umbrella more isn't an issue.
>>64710761It's official name is still Republic of China.
>>64710778Apparently dropping the "China" part and just calling it "Taiwan" is actually now antagonizing to the CCP since it implies a true independent nation rather than just unconquered territory in an un-concluded Chinese civil war. Won't you think of the poor, poor feelings of the Chinese people, Anon?
>why do you need so many guns?>why do you need more than 1 gun that does the same thing?

In this moment I am euphoric. Not because of any phony fudd's overmatch. But because, I am enlightened by George Kelgren's intellect.
>>64707137>>"what if we shot a guy with a bb like 1000 times, would he die then?">cool.*where just a single BB (1) hitting your forehead means instant death, and the gun shoots 2500 rpm
>>64708675>today it would not work because body armor is much stronger)M4 carbines etc don't penetrate SAPI plates. As for kevlar 4.6x30 round penetrates 150 layers of kevlar (typical flak/IIIA vests is 15-30 layers). If anything proliferation of SAPI plates makes Kellgrens concept of spam more micro bullets even more viable. Real way to deal with rifle plates that is used now is to shoot around plates and more bullets full auto 40 rounds per second gun with minimal recoil is what you want for that.
>>64708675>>64708686>>64708988It is also pretty neat to mention that in a real life engagement you are quite likely to only see the enemy's head as he peaks from behind cover.
