Selection tests your durability and tolerance to poor conditions. Maxing out a fitness doesn't test this.

What's hard to believe? Your tolerance for suck decreases with your lack of rest.

PT tests aren't grueling, exercising is a leisure activity and elite level PT scores (competitive eg for SEAL officer applicants) are not comparable to elite athletic standards and, excepting pull up numbers, are legitimately attainable for in-shape women women in their 40s given prep time.

Huge difference between being a ranger and having a ranger tab. The option isn't there for computer wonks but even I could have gotten a tab long ago if it was within career. I could not by any means or way perform as a Ranger. I have nothing like their skill set. Simply because I can keep it together in gulag conditions does NOT make me a ranger either.
My job is getting in a slush and snow filled ditch, and I never have the boots or gear, you just get fucking cold. You have to fish around and rebuild the civil drainage and it's all the same get in the shit stuff. You can spend all damn day so wet you may as well be in a river. And simply being miserable and doing a job is 3% of what a real Ranger does.
Hazing is just a filter for people who will not get in the shit. Real rangers have much more.

Based post but sadly,Tahu is already carrying them.
The other answer is just copy Axonn's power axe or find a way to make linked cordak blaster rounds for better fire volume. Or linked ignika sphere launchers. Or build a clay pigeon thrower that can handle the Metru Nui disks

Funny that for a long while the bad guys were always severely under armed vs the toa's long range weaponry. Cordak blasters shoot actual high explosive missiles, and zamors are filled with a substance that 99.99% has a chance to kill you. That goes without saying all of their elemental powers could easily be used to kill someone instantly, but the toa don't kill so I suppose that that is the narrative point

I dunno. Those fpv drone racers these days require pretty speedy feedback, and i doubt there’s be much input lag if you’re hardwiring the optics to the headset and just using normal video as a protective device against lasers.
>>
>>64720161
There's a difference between moving a drone and replacing your own eyes with a laggy screen. You're still much better off with the goggles.
Also, what do you do if a laser fries your optics? Take the goggles off, or go blind?
>>
>>64720191
I just know that laser goggles are wavelength specific and broad spectrum laser goggles are prohibitively dark as well as not really good. I would rather an optic fry/get damaged and take cover than be a casualty.
>>
>>64720200
As dark as normal sunglasses, and sometimes not even as dark as that. Light a few more flares.

I was not that worried about level 4 m2ap, certainly not from a 300wm 24", priority was multi hit 855/193 and 855a1/m80. Like a 4601 would be a good balance if not a lil thick and pick up a few more hits on a few of those and some more too but price. I'm prioritizing just getting a complete system and can always circle back for Gucci stuff. M2ap is a good bar to have, wish there was more 993/995 rated stuff.

I did find some 2020 panels of safariland extreme line 3a concealment cut panels, like 35-40$ a panel and they're very lightweight. Might try some butchering on it. Also caps apparently, that's new.

So yeah I'm interested to see this video but I have to think (hope) the armor industry rests on more than a YouTuber, for now I'm going to stick with 4403 cuz it was so cheap, and getting the protech I could have got a shit one and still need to buy plates which at that point I probably woulda just got something 3++ that was lighter even if it had to be icw.

Looking at carriers and I don't want to pay spiritussy price, but I really want tubes, and first spear is not a deal either. Looking at possibly defense mechanisms, beez, greyghost gear. Laser cut with loop on the front, semi structured laminate cummerbund with tubes if anyone has a /pfg/ rec

> Muh Militech/Gilliam/Etc. doesn't have NIJ certification
This is ENTIRELY the NIJ's own fault. They've been teasing 0101.07 since 2017, which is almost ten years now, and the .07 CPL is still nowhere in sight. It's always "just around the corner, super serious guys, I swear"! At this rate we're not going to get an .07 CPL until 2028.
> B-but Militech should have certified to .06!
First of all, you can genuinely argue that this could have looked like a waste of money and time, with .07 always "right around the corner!"
Also, the ShotStop guy got five years in Club Fed for importing "counterfeit" Chinese plates. Let's say Militech opens a US office. Let's also say that the US legal establishment is hostile to bulk Chinese armor imports. What's to stop the DoJ from claiming that Militech's Chinese imports are so-called counterfeit, and going after everybody associated with that office? Also, are you DEAD NUTZ sure that they'll actually certify a plate where the location of manufacture is China? I'm not. And I think that trying to put a new label on it in the USA would genuinely be perceived as counterfeiting.
> B-but!
With the geopolitical realities in play, I'll concede that Militech should certify to VPAM or a different specification. But you really can't fault them for avoiding the US. Also the NIJ looks like a clown show rn.
>>
>>64719400
Whatever the case, the 4403's NIJ cert stands and it's proven to stop M2AP at up to 2,910ft/s post the 0101.06 drop test. The 4601 is significantly better but it's pretty thick. On sale lately for $900 a set which isn't terrible for a midweight NIJ cert III/IV. Better than what Highcom has and much better than the 0101.04 holdouts from LTC that bulletproofme has been selling for fifteen years.

The armor industry rests on the NIJ. There is an "alt-armor" movement centered around Buffman and his affiliates (Ace Link, RMA, Adept, Militech, Stealth) that are light on NIJ certs or have none at all, so they use youtubers like him as alternative credibility. He's in really deep with RMA and they get special treatment on some tests, so he's not entirely impartial.
>>64720086
The counterfeit plate issue was because Shitstop was putting fake NIJ labels on uncertified Chinese plates. They were also, unrelated, taking Tencate Cratus-series plates, ripping out drop foam, and re-covering them to save weight. Longfri is NIJ certified, Chinese, and not getting prosecuted. Militech doesn't have an excuse. Certify to 0101.06 in 2017 and then recertify to 0101.07 whenever.
>>
>>64720183
> putting fake NIJ labels on uncertified Chinese plates.
What if those were the actual plates he had certified? ShotStop didn't have any manufacturing capabilities.
> Certify to 0101.06 in 2017 and then recertify to 0101.07 whenever.
Plenty of excuses not to certify when the NIJ's position is that they're not accepting new plates from China, lol. Also 2017 was a long time ago, and the NIJ has been saying "right around the corner. . ." ever since then.
When do you think the .07 CPL is going to drop? Later this year? 2027? 2028? Never?

The fact that a president of a state could be kidnapped by SOF, doesn't it mean that nuclear war could be "won" against a nuclear power? Just send SOF, kidnap their president alongside his "nuclear football". Point a gun in the head of his wife and kids so he gives up the nuclear codes. Then proceed to nuke each airbase of that country and naval bases with nuclear bombers and SSBNs and the major cities of that country. This leaves only the patrolling SSBNs for launching a counter strike. But still, this "simple" specops mission would have transformed a massive, unmanageable nuclear exchange into a limited engagement that modern Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) might actually be able to manage and thus win the nuclear war.

>>
>>64718748
>what are the odds some of the Delta Force guys stayed behind
Zero.
If they needed guys to do that, there would be a different team doing that already.
You wouldn't send an exhausted team fresh out of the fire into a new op and carry two entirely different sets of gear on the helo to do both things.
They *only* sent like 150 guys max to assault the safe house.
They have thousands of other guys they can send in separately to train Contras if they really want to go that route.

I think part of why ziggers are oblast-posting as seething Europeans is because this abduction, unlike Noriega, who was a US puppet that got too cocky, Maduro was a more or less a zigger puppet and the rule of the cold war was always that containment is overt but roll-back is covert.

This was overt roll-back of Team Dictator's influence, which exceeds and escalates past Reagan Doctrine.

NAYRT but cases don't carry away as much heat as you're assuming either. Firing 200 rounds instead of 220 is less impactful than what you could with the kilo of weight you free up by switching to caseless, even putting aside logistics.
Or better yet, do PCT and get better heat rejection than brass with most of the weight savings as caseless.
>>
>>64714371
You can't dissipate heat anyways because there's no air to exchange heat with.

if you control space, controlling earth gets real fuckin' easy.

It's almost time for $0 tax stamps. You can finally, legally, have fun. Buy a $400 P1S from Bambu, some Pa6-cf filament from polymaker, and get to work.

Some 3dp2a guys released the FTN 5.0 suppressors recently. There are suppressors for pistols, pcc's, and rifles. Let's talk about the last one.

To start out you will need ONE of these muzzle devices:
>Breek threaded muzzle+ Castle Shield <-Best one
>KAK slimline micro flash can
>1/2x28 to 3/4x16 thread adapter

Now you can print an insert that will attach the suppressor body to the muzzle device. The breek insert is a clamshell design. Put the two halves onto the castle shield and screw on the suppressor assembly. The other two will need some epoxy.

IF you want the suppressor to be permanent, epoxy the threads of the insert and suppressor body. It'll help with the longevity and make a better gas seal.

The main body will NEED to be supported by a sleeve. You can print the sleeve, but the lifespan is shorter with a lot of restrictions. You can use a 56mm ID and 60mm OD aluminum OR carbon fiber tube with jb weld. You can also use fiberglass and resin wrapped around the tube, but this is less effective.

>>
>>64698644
The strength of the polymer isn't the only variable, and some polymers do better with fiber infill than others. It is absolutely true that CF makes 3d printed parts more heat resistant, stiff, and dimensionally stable.
>>
>>64719854
You can't have card converted to ETF. You need the ETF done at a place like copy prints or whatever. There's two companies that can do it last I checked years ago when I had my electronic prints.
