>>97391784>Ice Slick>SnowshoesI really like that combination. It's weaker than grease since it doesn't have a DC that scales like a normal spell, instead it uses the rules for slippery surfaces and uneven footing (Balance check vs Reflex save), IIRC, which can be better or worse depending on what you are fighting, but it's still pretty damn good.I think it also enables stuff like HIbernal Healing, which is pretty great, specially for a Druid.
>>97393752I play online using Roll 20 for the map, Gsheet for the character sheet, and Discord for rolling, using custom commands (made a Crusader macro), voice chat, and recording information on different channels.I only know one guy from this group IRL too. Some of the players have their character sheets inside roll 20, so they just click a spell and the attack rolls and damage rolls are all made automatically.I dislike that because it takes away some of the flexibility from hand rolling my own sharacter sheet in gsheet but it works pretty well otherwise, a lot of stuff is pre calculated as you fill it out.So yeah, it can get a little slot at the begining but after the first session it's not cumbersome at all in my opinion.
Has anyone here seen an attempt at conversions of splatbook material to Eclipse: the Codex Personae like how PF1e got ToB, MoI, and Vestiges ported over by third-parties?

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games. Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. >>97397912The latter. Hidden magic generally either involves either ass worldbuilding or contrivances on the level of "the planet is sentient and fucks with people's senses to keep them from realizing magic exists when they really fucking ought to". Or shit magic.>>97398024>A masquerade is much more common, easier to world build for since most of real history still happens, and much easier to get people to relate to what is happening since it uses the real world as reference. This presupposes that the setting is meant to be some equivalent of the real world Earth.Literally nothing stops you from doing a masquerade on an alternate "present" or past or future for that matter.
>>97398087>This presupposes that the setting is meant to be some equivalent of the real world Earth.>Literally nothing stops you from doing a masquerade on an alternate "present" or past or future for that matter.I guess, but at that point you're getting the worst of both. Like it's much harder to world build since you have to do it for both a hidden and open world and people will have less ways to relate to it.Could still be fun though.
>>97398114>people will have less ways to relate to itEh, you can have an alternate world and still have it be highly relatable. And setting something on an alternate world can free you up from having to crowbar the shit you want to do in around real world history/politics/religions/etc. It's not all downside in that regard.A good example of this done well is the Ace Combat series. It's set on a completely alien earth just to avoid having to do the stock Ubisoft ass-covering every fucking game.

In both cases, they should be deleted. This isn't a case of someone wanting a game they don't like removed from the board. This is a verifiable pattern of obnoxious spam, which is against the rules on all boards. The fact that every single one of these threads devolves into an argument like this only cements the point.

>>97398458couldnt care less, the 'culture but fantasyyyy' shit is so lame i hope aos steers as far away from it as possible. Its why warhammer fantasy is so boring, also conquest does the same thing but takes inspiration from much more interesting cultures and sources. also i am aware aos has cultural elements in it but none of it is as obvious as 'china but fantasy', or 'egypt but fantasy' such as tomb kings
>>97398458I despise fantasy and the same as with vanilla dwarfs, BoC and Cathay we dont need such concepts in this game and we are better without them.
>>97398553Do you despite Skaven, DoK and mawtribes too because those are all from fantasy, and there’s more too. Much of AoS is simply patched together old fantasy and new stuff (that doesn’t sell as well). Go play conquest if you don’t like fantasy because AoS has fantasy in its dna.
>>97398577Skaven and seraphon are both factions that fit better in a high fantasy setting such as aosDok and mawtribes are the last remaining factions which their ranges are fantasy rubbish and they desperately cry out for a refresh. >gameplayFor Centaurs, you should be able to use them as mounts when not in combat if they're lightly armed & armored. I think you could ride into battle with them and fight on their back without overburdening them, depending on your loadout. Squeezing into dungeons and caves might be a bit of a bitch, and your centaur companion may find themselves too cumbersome to accompany you in certain locations. If people in wheelchairs can make do, I'm sure a transmog potion or a shrinking potion might solve the problem.>fantasy settingsThey're more at home here for sure, like having a horse. Some taverns may give you a hard "no" for your centaur companion, but I'm sure regions that are steeped in centaur culture or adjacent ones have accommodations for their unique anatomy. If nothing else, they could help carry your camp supplies and other provisions. >loadouts for fantasyIf you're not riding them, I think they can be pretty well armed and armored- think tower shield and a mace/flail. They also make good spearmen, so I think they'd be comfortable wielding a halbard and similar pike-style weapons. This would be with them wearing plate mail cuirass for the human portion and chainmail curtain over their horse hind quarters, or perhaps some specially fitted Gambeson. Other plate sections could be fitted to their horse body as needed. Archery and crossbows seem like they'd work for ranged options. I've not considered them using magic, but having a fairly mobile spellcaster seems cool as well.

"Everything was once very perfect and good until somebody fucked it all up" is a very christian propaganda kind of mindset. Nature exists in balance, cycles, give and take. >>97398294I'm guessing that anon is referring to the completely unexpected performance that the Bradley had during Desert Storm. Absolutely no one from either side anticipated it to be capable of engaging and absolutely annihilating entire battlegroups of tanks. The Russians, former USSR satellite states and everyone else who was buying their equipment shit themselves reading over those reports. They had expected it to perform something near the BMP and finding out they could actively seek out and engage armored formations was every bit as shocking as the performance of low weight Clan mechs was to the Inner Sphere.
