There was some stuff going on with their machines and cloud storage or something a while back. If you're having a death battle, seeing someone attack someone you like would probably lower their opinion of them. So some characters should try to single out their target from their allies to quickly eliminate them without too much fuss. Other characters might be more brutish, and openly attack those who they don't like.
