I think I want to make a Loyalist EC force.
What's a good livery? Leaning toward Death Eagles
Also unsure if I want to make them actual EC or some flavor of Blackshields
Should I go pure jump infantry?
>>
>>97360235
>Should I go pure jump infantry?
A core formed by a Master of Descent and their custom detachment is very attractive for both gameplay and modeling. Follow it up with a Delgatus for some extra elites or some massed assault squads/destroyers.
>>
>>97360235
Terran emperor's children were known to use white so that could work, and as anon mentioned the master of descent detachment let's you take a Praetorian command squad and 2 prime veteran assault squads so you can have 3 squads of jump pack elites that can all challenge.
>>
>>97360302
Master sergeant is only once per detachment so instead you can take a logistical slot for an extra assault squad or take veteran veterans to get really stuck in
>>
>>97360235
Jump infantry are very viable now, even more so for EC. With their high set up move (part of charging) it is very easy to deny enemy units their chance to react, overwatch, or volley fire.
Praetorian command squads with jump pack and assault veterans are real scary, and with thunder hammer and combat shield will kill many times their own point cost in terminators.
There's also palatine blades with jump packs in the legacies rules.
Destroyers with jump packs are a huge force multiplier, and assault marines are a neat harassment unit to deal with troops, shooty infantry, and tanks with weak rear AV.
Would advice to also bring a few squads of despoilers to have some Line 2 in your army.

Best? The space one from mutants in orbit.
Worst glitter girl. Of the real ones, the black markwt non glitter "shodow boy" is truly the worst
Here is the crazy SA one
>>
>>97353752

Triax 2 Fat Boy and Hell Angel seem like strict upgrades for their specialties. Taurus seems like kind of a joke but I once played a character using the chassis for the extra gun mount, putting a classic boom gun on one shoulder and the Silver Wolf particle beam on the other (presuming dual fire-linked classic boom guns is too much for it to handle).
>>
>>97353752
I think the republican glitterboy mark 3 deserves some mention as technically the worst, as its just an augmented EBA suit. So it is thus the weakest stat wise and its built in weapons are the lowest damage.

I mean when you fuck it up like Altered TCG did it's kinda hard not to? Card games can take a lot of money to produce. Bushi has stockholders to please and values to pump, it's just pushing product any way possible.
Meanwhile Little Troubles is just chugging along for the love of the community.
>>
Honestly independent card games are the future for people who actually play games instead of just collecting, it's what keeps me working on my game.
>>
Finally started putting pen to paper on my 9th set, and I think I may have created the worst card in any game ever.

Wheel Gator, Evil Fanged Heavy Tank
150 Power
Trigger: When you take damage, both players add their hand to the bottom of their deck, then charge that many cards.

For clarification "charge" is put those cards into a pile you draw all of next turn. So it empties both players' hands, then they draw up to their old hand size at end of turn.
>>
>>97358446
Isn't that just an activated ability?

What happened with Vanguard? I used to play back before the second reboot.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?

Has anyone fucked around with the War Pilgrimage of Saint Methodius? I like the idea of having two anchorite shrines, but having them be kitted decently and having a decent surrounding force is tricky. This was a list I mocked up on new recruit, I'm open to any recommendations. I figure you definitely want at least one shrine to have an autocannon but it is mega pricey

Trench Pilgrims - The Engines of His Holy Wrath - [700 Ducats]

# ++ Warband ++ [700 Ducats]
## Configuration
Campaign Rules: Enabled (Learned Saint, Reroll)
Warband Variant: War Pilgrimage of Saint Methodius

## Elite [182 Ducats]
Castigator [70 Ducats]: Flail [5 Ducats], Trench Shield [10 Ducats], Molotov Cocktail [5 Ducats]
War Prophet [112 Ducats]: Sub-Machine Gun [32 Ducats] (Bayonet Lug [2 Ducats])

## Troop [518 Ducats]
Anchorite Shrine [215 Ducats]: Autocannon [55 Ducats], Sacred Geometry [10 Ducats], Hallowed Anchorite [10 Ducats]

Your issue isn't that it's not possible.

The issue is it being game 1 type army. While your armies can be on paper considered extremely strong. (Such as the Anchorite) but you have such limited models on the board.

In a game you'll likely not be able to secure locations. Some armies (Like the Grail) can have up to 12+ models in one army.

Does that make sense? I say have 1 Anchorite Shrine, and adjust the costs to give yourself more pilgrims.
>>
>>97360201
Anon, I'm so sorry the longer I look. The worse this army looks. No offense.

>War Prophet
You need to ensure this model is a bit heavier. Invest in at least standard armor. You should be running the Anti-Tank Hammer.

>Castigator
The way you're running them is wasted. Give them a Punt Gun and some armor as well. The Shrine doesn't need the Punt Gun. Also try to get some armor.

>Shrines
Limited yourself to one. You're starting your warband. You can ALWAYS buy another down the road.

Trench Pilgrims aren't to be slept on with their Anti-Fear mechanics on their Iron Capirote. Just give them some bolt action rifles and some Bayonets.

Think of it as you building up the board to get your second Shrine.
>>
>>97360251
may I get a rating
>>97358809
>>
>>97358809
As I said the other Army list, Sniper Priest with a Machine Gun is utterly superior in every way. It may not allow you to pin an enemy down across the map but with your current build you have enough models to hold them in place.

Getting another Machinegun in the list or- rather your first one will make a pretty big difference.

>Grenades
I don't know who the fuck hurt you but not every single model needs a grenade, you will be lucky if you throw two in a game. Three max if your enemy is really unlucky or just not playing well.

Try to remove some of them, see how much Ducats you have left to try and invest into more Yeoman.

You have a musician. That's great, don't know what that Frag Grenade is gonna do for them in combat. Give them a pistol or something. You don't want a sitting duck.

Other than that the list seems solid. Just ensure your LT isn't too battle-damaged from engagements or you might need to retire them.

Nah, it's generally an issue. The kind of person who wants to play space marines in Necro is a problem.
>>
>>97360101
As I said, they were meant to be opponents, IIRC the example was a chaos marine (singular) as a high level opponent for a whole gang.
As for players wanting to play space marines (plural) as a force, that originated pre-killteam and I haven't personally encountered it since that became an official (tm) option.

A question about readying actions. Can you add an
>or
To the trigger. For example last session my cleric said he would use radiance of the dawn either when all the enemies were within range or at initiative 1. Can you add triggers? How many can you add because it could get silly? If you don’t use it on a trigger so you miss your chance?
>>
>>97360228
That's a DM call. Personally, I wouldn't allow it unless a player made a strong case for why they're really two versions of the same trigger.
>or at initiative 1
Well, that's flatly against the rules, which state that it must be a "perceivable circumstance". Player characters can't perceive the initiative count.

How does goblins and/or orcs being green even work on a biological level, assuming that they’re mammals? And why would they need to be green?
>>
>>97351927
In the D&D era, it wasn't settled that goblins were green as a default. People who made art or described goblins just picked whatever colour and appearance they thought was most fitting. There wasn't an equal amount of representation for each "type" of goblin, because it was done independently by many different people who didn't confer beforehand. By blind evolutionary luck, some settings, or even individual images, with green, big-nosed goblins became more popular than settings without them. This meant that the next generation of settings took a greater amount of influence from that kind of goblins, causing a goblin snowball effect. At a certain point, that style of goblin became the majority, then the default.
>>
>>97351927
How did this topic impact your last dnd session? How exactly did goblin skin color come up? Be detailed and specific.

We're going to have to come up with a phrase for the new era of Warhammer 40,000 ushered in by the Amazon TV show, DoW 4 and Total War 40k, and increased market value of Games Workshop.

nu40k isn't going to cover it. nu40k is already bad enough for many of us from headier days like 1st through 4th edition. You are going to see horrific debasements to the thing you know and love that you will still see with your eyes closed. Cain will just be Sharpe in space, so meh..

Make it a Dark Heresy show, 4 acolytes form 4 different worlds, easy to get newcommers to understand the lore, wide range of story and you can always put in some Deathwatch in the lot.

Of course, DH was in 815.m41, everyone's now dead since we're 1000 years in the future for some reason, where every Cadians is now a Black woman.

And yes sex, sex and swearing is what writers understand now, can't have a show with either for some reason. sometimes I wonder if I'm too smart for entertaiment, or it is simply too dumb for me.

I'm not against a Dark Heresy show, but if you're going to have the first 40k show it needs to be IG. It's down to earth, you can have an enemy of the season or episode, and the Guardsmen barely know anything. It's the perfect introduction.
You try Space Marines or the Inquisition, and the audience immediately has to swallow Imperial religion and "kill the mutant and witch" and normalfags will run.

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have!

How powerful do you prefer your alchemy to be? Is it basically magic like in FMA, or more along the lines of mundane chemistry, and what do you need to consider for each approach?

In a world with a firmament, how far could you see? Could you see everything if you were on a mountain or would air density and pressure and such set a max view distance?

I usually start with a story then add and subtract based on what leads to a better story. Usually this cascades into the smaller details.

I'll be honest, that sounds quite interesting to me, so I'm not sure I'm a great judge for why you're getting a tepid response. I have some ideas though.

If you're trying to convert an existing setting that people are connected with, they may be against the perceived "loss" of the old setting. I've also noticed a stigma around the concept of steampunk settings, but usually just for being "cringey" rather than anything specific. Some people also prefer settings that are more personal, and consider settings with more ship-on-ship combat to be less engaging.

That could also be why the people you talk to prefer grounded low-magic settings. Low-magic usually is also easier for people to relate to, if they just want a setting with very minor changes to their "normal". I think that's a similar reason why cyberpunk settings are also usually "safe".

How do you pitch the idea to others, is it as straightforward as this post? Sometimes it can just be a matter of a bad pitch that gives the wrong impression.

It might depend on what other physics you want to shift to get the world to be "stable". Assuming you don't do that sort of simulation: air density, pressure, general weather, and other obstructions would limit the view.

Where I live you need a particularly clear and calm day to even see 7 miles away from a mountain top. It's probably unlikely that a flat firmament world would have a day completely clear and calm across the entire surface, especially when you include the different types of weather phenomena. Though it could allow for an interesting event akin to the borealis or an eclipse, where you could see across the entire distance.
