>>97372244That's a good start. I'd personally prefer a modified AGOV/Fire King SD format, but I can see that being enjoyable.
>>97371746How is https://www.pricecharting.com/? Its search function is easier.
>>97371609If you have Slay the Spire, you should see how the Yugioh mod for that works. There are a lot of decks you can pick from that play out differently. It's not a fighting game in the more strict sense, but it might be good food for your brain.
I really hate dueling Edison blackwings
>>97371609I don't think that stunning the player if they lack a card for a combo is the right course of action there. Especially if you're trying to make it like a yugioh combo, the activations would be illegal. If you want some games with card-based mechanics that you can pull inspiration from, >Touhou Hisoutensoku/its soku-style fightersThese ones are fighting games where you'd cycle through a deck of cards that you construct before each of the matches begin, where they can either be activated as buffs for the characters' standard attacks, act as supers, or generic effects. Supers used the cards "in your hand" as a cost, and you couldn't put cards back "into your deck" until the round resets. Given that you're making a MOBA, if you use a system based on this, I'd just make it so you're using a pre-determined set of cards for each character that you can tweak with the shops after the match begins. That way the players have time to edit their builds pre-match, and also allowing them to edit them at the shops when they respawn. Make it so that you can run out of cards and have to go back to resupply to refresh your deck.>Duelist of the RosesThis one was an old Yugioh TTG on the PS2. Basically you'd draw 5 cards each turn, and you could arbitrarily discard/destroy cards in your hand, using a first-in-first-out system. It's easier to just look up gameplay to wrap your head around that system. Then there's the DBFZ mod that the other anon mentioned
Necromancy Edition>What is Trench Crusade? An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.>What Trench Crusade is notTC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.>What's the QRD on the background? The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.>How do I get started? All the files are free online:https://www.trenchcrusade.com/rules/Comment too long. How does it stack up against Gammaworld and GeneStorm?
>>97368569It's a Palladium system game, so it's janky as fuck. Palladium TMNT is ancient and weird and from an era when we still hadn't fully worked out "balance" and "ease of handling" as system concepts. Balance was for chess and ease of handling was for cards.
>>97368569It's weird as shit they thought this had anything to do with TMNT
>>97370511A weird, post apocalyptic future filled with mutant animals would totally fit in with the original comic.
>>97368569Didn't we just have this thread?
>>97368569In short: It doesn't. Don't know shit about GeneStorm, but GammaWorld has a better setting and a wider collection of different editions, each with their own collections of splats and supplements, for you to enjoy and tailor to your tastes, on top of generally being better games with better settings.Palladium's/TMNT&OS's mutation mechanics seem really cool at a glance, but when you really dig into them, the variety of options isn't that good and generally don't make very interesting characters.

>>97368634Along with the awesome art, thats a really clever premise for and organic shield. It sounds like you're saying the moth forces and electrical current through the fibers to temporarily make them rigid and incredibly resistant, almost like an organic-thread take on non-newtonian fluid. That kind of reminds me of when capcom brought japanese ecologists to try to explain how their monsters would work in a grounded setting.Rajang specifically, they talk about something along those lines. It was for some MH anniversary, but I can't for the life of me find the video though.Anyway, love the work you're doing anon and seeing more posted
>>97369572Thanks! The actual in universe explanation to how the fibers work is a bit more esoteric and tied to the "magic" system of the setting, but the functional aspect of it is that the fibers can be in either a mobile/flexible state where they can move around and bend, or become rigid and gain tremendous tactile strenght, allowing them to withstand great amounts of punishment without breaking (though they are not invulnerable, just extremely resistant to physical forces that would otherwise shred them in their motile/flexible state). The fiber blades and ranged applications of this tech also utilize this flexible/rigid state alteration principle for how they work, plus the element of heating up the fibers to cut trough materials. Essentially, a fiber blade can be a flexible and moving whip like cord at one moment before suddenly attaining a hard, and rigid cutting edge/tip that heats up enough to just cut trough flesh. This process does consume the fibers though as the intense heat burns them which is why fiber weapons often have spools of these fibers attached to them from which they can draw more. The ranged fiber weapons in turn just project a thread of fibers at rapid speeds at targets, and become rigid near the moment of impact, the momentum of the fibers then pushing this rigid hot spike of fibers trough the target. Some even lose this rigidity just after the impact, unfurling in a violent fashion inside of the target, the still heated fibers making a mess out of the innards of the target.

>>97372488I've seen a miniature painting service work out of a container like that. But no shops. One shop I loved was a tiny tudor attic above another shop crammed with boxes of miniatures and somehow a gaming table. Looked like a warhammer fantasy terrain piece with old, crude and bending wooden beams everywhere. They moved out of there and became big with actual floorspace before covid I assume fucked them
>>97372499>>97372524I sure wish they were a little more accessible. I feel like I'd be more inclined to join one if I could just walk in and check it out. Oh well I'll just keep painting for solo games.
>>97372488I've seen exactly one store like that, and it was a friend of mine's hairbrained scheme with the wife of a friend of his. We all told him wasn't going to work and we all knew they weren't just business partners, but it lasted about two months, then her relationship with her husband improved or something and they ran out of money to keep the store open. They got maybe a dozen customers total, including friends and family. It had a weird hallway outside of their unit where all the other industrial offices had been dumping their old furniture as they moved in and out, so it was a surprisingly nice space with a random assortment of tables, chairs, and even couches. But it was also in a huge warehouse type building.

>>97372713There's the old West End Games D6 system. WEG is loved by many here, but I've seen anons say they find it a bit clunky by modern standards. I don't see it, but I will say it's very number crunchy. A classic, but not everyone likes dice pools.More info:http://d6holocron.com/downloads/wegcore.htmlThere's the Star Wars D20 system published by Wizards. The Saga Edition is the latest edition from 2007. Would be fairly familiar to people used to D&D's third edition. Here's a wiki for morehttps://swse.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars_Saga_Edition_WikiaAnd just because it popped up on the front page of google, a pdf of the core rulebook.https://www.theberserker.net/berserker/sw/rule_books/SW_Saga_Edition_Core_Rulebook.pdfThen there's Fantasy Flight Game's systems, Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion and Force and Destiny. They're very cross-compatible so they're often lumped together as just FFG's Star Wars. In contrast to WEG's crunchiness, FFG is a bit light and fluffy. I personally enjoyed this, but I do recommend having plenty of house rules. For example, it's designed to be entirely theater of the mind and its weapons have range bands (e.g., Engaged, Short, Medium, Long, etc.) that are meant to be abstract. My group crunched those down to feet (Engaged-30 feet was Short, 30-60 feet was Medium, etc.) so we could use minis during combat. I find it a good way to keep track of where everything is.And I like to turn players loose on a map and say "go, explore."It does have a gazillion extra books, and most are out of print. The links in the OP should still have PDFs of them all.Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

>>97364794>Why would one need to steal the lycanthrope's power to shift between man and wolf?Because a lycanthrope is neither man nor wolf. A werewolf is a hellish beast that's some twisted fusion of man and wolf. It's a separate thing and that's why you need it's pelt. That's the hard part since werewolves turn into a man (from what I saw) when they die. You'd need to somehow skin that thing alive. I'm guessing that with the right pelt and proper ritual you could shift into other creatures, I'd need to ask my superiors to get a confirmation. Making pacts with evil spirits and other such things allow for many terrible things.
