>>97373110>>97372969Auré is absolutely right about experimenting. You'll never learn the ins & outs without seeing what happens when you use x instead of y. Just make a handful of prompts changing fabric materials to see what it makes, or lighting or styles, try out some uncommon colors like burgundy or vermillion, also know that with declarative statements you can just prompt nonsense stuff & get cool pics. What does a gnarled ultraviolet cheese tree look like? Prompt it & see. Maybe it will help you jury rig a hard to make prompt later on.

Thread dedicated to Sci-Fi based discussion. 40k need not apply. [\spoiler]How goes your sci-fi setting, anon? I am currently running a Traveller game in a homebrew setting, and am getting lost in the sauce of stellar physics.
>>97364984>bombarding their problems from orbit? How can you get anything from a location if it's just a smoking crater? Also meat will always be cheaper and more flexible than steel. You can throw a bunch of men at a problem and they can adapt. Robots might run into unforseen problems that could be overlooked. Meanwhile humans you know how they can act normally, what can and can't kill them and there's always more to throw into a problem. Sometimes even with an air of plausible deniability
>>97366921>Has an explanation in Laymans terms, technical terms and a deep lore reasonAbsolute King shit right there, I love it and would shake your hand if I could.
>>97352596Cepheus is more of a pre-Star Wars space opera. Stars Without Number is more of science fantasy by default (although you can easily turn it into something harder by mashing it with Cities).SWN has D&D levelling, but the math is closer to Basic D&D, so HP bloat is less of a problem.

I also consider a stable floor of character function important to avert just getting your balls crushed on loop because nobody got the "right" loot or build options which doesn't work with full GM dictation of available spells, but cordoning the fuckery with teleportation, long-list summons/shapeshifting, and 20 divinations bait off from assured access mechanics is fine.

has anyone given though to the state of mathematics in fantasy settings and how it affects the setting and characters in it? e.g.>tribes in not!Africa struggle with trade because they can't count past 2>how traders to calculation to determine prices, risk, etc>how well astronomers understand the motion of the heavens>how the characters think (i.e. logically, or numerically, or in a poetic / non-mathematical way)
>>97368289>There is a reason why your woke shit doesn't sell...what RPG is outselling Dungeons & Dragons right now?
>>97367777Not necessarily, which is the appeal of imagination.
>>97367640>>tribes in not!Africa struggle with trade because they can't count past 2As far as I know, this is a lot more common in South America and Australia than in Africa.
>>97367640Not in fantasy, but I did have first contact between two of my sci-fi species be weird because the first thing they did to try and communicate (no universal translators in setting) was send prime numbers to each other.Except for one species, the first eight prime numbers are:>1,2,3,5,7,11,13,17While for the other the first eight are:>2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19That's right, one of them considers "1" prime and the other doesn't. Basically the former just don't mind the fact that all of the theorems involving prime numbers have to say "except for 1". The latter think that they're *lunatics*.So far neither has made contact with any other species so they don't know whether it's common for 1 to be considered prime or not.

Well, Sildar isn't exactly a young man, but he's close enough. Soon they'll get the chance to rescue both as they're going to be able to rescue what's left of the Dendrar family. >>97371746How is https://www.pricecharting.com/? Its search function is easier.
>>97371609If you have Slay the Spire, you should see how the Yugioh mod for that works. There are a lot of decks you can pick from that play out differently. It's not a fighting game in the more strict sense, but it might be good food for your brain.
I really hate dueling Edison blackwings
>>97371609I don't think that stunning the player if they lack a card for a combo is the right course of action there. Especially if you're trying to make it like a yugioh combo, the activations would be illegal. If you want some games with card-based mechanics that you can pull inspiration from, >Touhou Hisoutensoku/its soku-style fightersThese ones are fighting games where you'd cycle through a deck of cards that you construct before each of the matches begin, where they can either be activated as buffs for the characters' standard attacks, act as supers, or generic effects. Supers used the cards "in your hand" as a cost, and you couldn't put cards back "into your deck" until the round resets. Given that you're making a MOBA, if you use a system based on this, I'd just make it so you're using a pre-determined set of cards for each character that you can tweak with the shops after the match begins. That way the players have time to edit their builds pre-match, and also allowing them to edit them at the shops when they respawn. Make it so that you can run out of cards and have to go back to resupply to refresh your deck.>Duelist of the RosesThis one was an old Yugioh TTG on the PS2. Basically you'd draw 5 cards each turn, and you could arbitrarily discard/destroy cards in your hand, using a first-in-first-out system. It's easier to just look up gameplay to wrap your head around that system. Then there's the DBFZ mod that the other anon mentioned
>>97373068>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4wf4JJwroYHisoutensoku gameplayhttps://youtu.be/pXMZW3mi_gQ?si=jgkCb4zAw55f7nm-&t=33DotR gameplayIt's likely that neither of these will translate 1:1 to what you're doing, but you can probably extract at least a little bit of inspiration from these.Tangentially related; If you haven't played either of these, I recommend them. The soku-style touhou fighters have rollback mods available, and have storymodes available in singleplayer (the first two have them for every character while Soku only has it for a few) and Duelist of the Roses has a few good overhaul patches floating around to make it so the gameplay isn't (as) braindead easy.

Tomorrow you will all wake up to watch the show or you will be at work watching on a second tab. I want you to know I’ll be asleep and when I get up well rested (I am going to watch RoTK tonight) I will gaze upon what will hopefully be my first new army for HH. The Adeptus Custodes. I won’t lie, I don’t care about the women being added because I think 30k/40k lore is kinda dumb already, but I can understand the people who will be upset.
>>97373052AoS is absolutely following 40k down the same path. But the silver lining is that TOW seems to be heading in the opposite direction. In my mind I think GW views HH and TOW similarly. They are there to capture sales from veteran players who don’t enjoy what 40k/“fantasy”(AoS) has become. So there’s probably hope for HH.
>>97373065We've always had to pick what to ignore from the official lore to enjoy the setting or have things make sense, femstodus is just the latest addition to the discarded list.
>>9737307640k is following AoS, you got it the wrong way around. TOW is handled by the same team responsible for HH, so there is indeed an ever so slightly glimmer of hope there.
>>97373083The problem is I'm pretty sure "the same team" means it's literally the exact same people split between both games. When journals were first announced we thought we'd be getting them 1 every 2 months like old world, but now it seems for both games were down to 1 journal per quarter, and it may slow down even further because it looks like GW's trying to get LOTR on the journal model as well with that Shelob one.
