>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

Wolves/dogs/ravens

I've thought about this less but having access to animals was my original plan for the animist, to have him be able to throw blood-markers at range and support beasts in a 3-6 inch aura.

I also debated giving the skinwalker a shape shifter ability to turn flying or move faster but he's already an 8 inch moving ignores terrain guy.

i think i'm leaning more native sterotype than native authentic or native mythical. i want to delve a bit more into native myths but i tend to turn up the great peace maker and dividing the white, red and black serpents.

i think they could also use a woman in the elite slot because natives tend to be matralinear societies (at least the ones i looked at). the peacemaker's earliest ally being a woman (this is the confederation)
I'm very not tempted to make it sioux v Haudenosaunee as heretic v faithful.
i might need to break out the history, but i feel like the natives are gaining aid from the europens because either via their own myths/hell feels it can act openly here but they're allowed alot of autonomy to practice their traditions.

Amerifat's are truly the cancer of the internet.

I made a fucking Māori TP warband, with fanfiction and homebrew.
I made them because the historical premise of good ol' Tangata Whenua VERY far from home to try and rescue nature from those who destroy her sounded cool.
I made them Trench Pilgrims because it made sense, and I respected the lore of the setting.
And I then made minor tweaks to weapon permissions and gave them a weaker, but cheaper 'icon armour' that was a Moko. They can't take rifles or machine guns, but they get slightly better polearms and cheap E-tools.

No problems, and the few remarks I got were wholly positive for the premise, and the homebrew.


But amerifat's can't into homebrew, the same way they can't into kitbashing.
They NEED official material about their 'land of the free to get capped in the skull for driving lol', in the same way they NEED official models to buy from the official people, so they can play the game.

It takes half an hour to write some homebrew or fanfiction. But instead they just post shit like "What about America?" "What's happening in America during all this?" "When are we getting an America faction in this gaem?" and hope someone else might do it for them.

Have you tried looking up? Sure, it isn't blue because of a blue pigment, but there's nothing in science about it not counting because there's some other mechanism behind the colour. That's rather the paint maker’s perspective, as he looks for stuff to grind up and put in his paint.

If you need to go into a dungeon, opening the door is pretty much a necessary step of the game. That's why you don't put that behind a check that can be failed.

The first and greatest golden age was during warmahordes, confrontation, at43, malifaux, peaking with X wing, then ending when Guildball died.

Second era was the Kickstarter era, which produced games like infinity, kingdom death, and lots of 3d prints. It was more boardgames than anything though. Died in COVID.

GW used to be retarded, completely unbalanced, crappy models, erratic release schedule. Iirc there was a period where it was 2 years between marine codices and Orks hadn't been updated for 6 years. Now they've addressed a lot of the issues and more, will be very hard to unseat.

Leda and her allies managed to make it to Enir-Ilim like you, even if you were the one taking down the toughest threats.

Fia's five supporters are considered a boss fight.

There's plenty of mortal champions capable of quite a lot: Vyke, Gideon, Bernahl, Sellen, Ansbach, Finlay, Lhutel, Juno Hoslow...

...But at the same time, there are also good reasons why you are the one ultimately claiming the throne instead of them.

Yeah I feel like this is the best option to be honest. Players can get very emotionally involved with the NPCs in their PCs sphere and be very protective of them. I've learned this first hand when trying to bring character background NPCs into the adventure, you have to be very careful with how it's handled. You can't ever present a character with a fait accompli over an NPC they feel ownership of.

The punchline isn't so much the wife stealing, but really in making the goal time sensitive. And making it clear that they could have done it fast enough and it's their own fault for messing up.
Have the questgiver give them the usual spiel that they need to hurry, for who knows what terrifiying things may be happening to the poor damsel. They'll dismiss it as the usual narrative melodrama. Then tempt them with sidequests, or choices where the easier path takes fair bit longer. It usually doesn't take much to make them forget the primary objective is on the clock. And keep track of time, even if they don't. Especially if they don't. And when they finally get there, give them the rundown and show them the consequences. Have the damsel explain that after first few weeks she lost all hope and gave in to dark temptation, or have the ruffian gloat that she was particularly stubborn and tough to break, resisting much longer than his other victims, but he had the time to work on her.

I've done this multiple times, though with different timed objectives. Never had the players turn against me for it, usually they'll start squabbling among themselves who caused the delay. Who wanted too many rests, who was the coward that insisted on easier but longer path, who was the cheapskate that insistent on trekking instead of hiring a carriage. Sometimes they get hostile against the questgives, take their reward by force. And then squabble among themselves all the same. You've got all the tools, you control the stage, set it up and make it feel like they did it to themselves. Takes a bit of effort, but the payoff is totally worth it.

I've spent the last year, studying, and designing a custom Arthurian set, originally intended to be based on Le Morte d'Arthur (like how P3k was based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms).

However, as I continued to study, and look into different (and some obscure sources) this turned into a much more wider net.

This set, which is no where near finished includes
>Welsh Triads and The Magnibong
>Pre-Vulgate Arthur traditions
>Vulgate/Post Vulgate/Lancelot cycles
>some English/Welsh fairy tales
>and even a bit of the Victorian Arthurian revival (especially for art).

I avoided the Italian and German romances entirely, and tried not to include weird outliners except when needed. Outside of art, nothing is sourced from the 20th century or onward. Also all art is public domain.

I'm mainly posting here for feedback. Some will be art recommendations, flavor text (especially sourced) will be always welcomed.

Thoughts on Twilight 2000?

I've been wanting to run a gritty setting akin to S.T.A.L.K.E.R (the anomalies and artifacts I can add on my own). I've been considering Delta Green as a system, but T-2000 caught my eye and seems interesting.

I play it and its a pretty strait forward system (if you are playing the 4th ed year zero engine).

It's pretty easy to convert the game as you need it and if you need extra stuff for making your own home brew go look for the Year Zero open source document and on Drive thru rpg some people have created flow charts for how to do things in T2k

While I enjoy 2.2, I'm not sure if it is the superior fit—it's a bit too simulationist imo (even if your concept of Stalker is influenced more by tacticool mods like Anomaly/GAMMA than the OG trilogy).

Despite how gritty stalker is as a setting, it's really classic adventure stuff when you think about it; just post apocalypse dnd. You have bandits, magic loot (artifacts), cults (monolith), roving monsters (mutants), taverns complete with odd jobs and quests (100 rads), dungeons (labs) made by evil magicians (the group/ccon), and even a fucking adventurer's guild that exists to profit off of it all (free stalkers).

I'm not saying to run it in any d&d or d20 system, of course. Just thinking outloud. Stalker is presented to be a complete gritty shit-eating simulator, but the whole premise is very action-adventure-like. Newer t2k editions may represent this better.

Looking beyond t2k, I'm curious about what other systems would best represent these competing themes. I've actually been working on my own (barely playable) stalker system from scratch since playing the trilogy, but handling this push and pull between survivalist wank and adventure is an issue for me as well.

I am 99% sure there are a tonne of fan systems for running stalker. I've seen content for them on the TTS workshop for years.
They've always been in russian but I am sure translations exist.
AFAIK they have shared DNA with the CYOA stalker threads that used to exist on /v/ and /vg/. There was a common drawn item set that they all used.

By the time the party sets out, they are fully in the throes of a mushroom trip, and the whole world has become animated like a rankin bass christmas special, with the landscape and monsters resembling sweets and treats. As the face the mountain, it is now a massive mound of whipped cream, dotted with giant green gumdrops, and the scent of filth from the mountain now smells like grandma’s cookies baking. In possession of a bottle of the magic potion coerced from the mayor by the frenchman, they march up the mountain. They traverse a rough terrain of cookie crumbles and brownie boulders, before coming to a slot canyon leading upward. They move up cautiously to the edge of the slot, with the thief using his boots to levitate up to peer over the walls, and as he does so, he espys atop the canyon wall a big wad of vanilla ice-cream wad giant-sized humanoid stuffed into a cake cone, wearing peppermint armor, and wielding a candy cane scythe, and buttermint boulders. He engaged the thief with boulders, missing, and the valiant noble Lord Arik moved up to gain his aggro, succeeding. The party took cover and started climbing the canyon walls up to the giant, while Arik stayed down and forward, as bursting through the ground came seven masses of yogurt-covered pretzels, twisted into the shape of monstrous lobsters.

The ice-cream man was in fact an obese stone giant wearing armor made of centipede chittin layered over human hide, and wielding a scythe of bone dripping with blood. The giant threw a couple boulders at Arik as he fought the pretzels and the party climbed up the canyon. Arik pulled his horn of valhalla and summoned five 5HD ghost warriors who wiped out the pretzels. As the party climbed up, the giant positioned himself near the edge, and using his scythe did sweeping 3x1 attacks into their lines, causing great panic. Soon, they felled the giant and his lobstrosities, and move through the canyon.

After another hour, they came to the near summit, and faced a 100-foot-tall cliff of peanut brittle. Choosing to swiftly ascend, the thief lashed a rope to the bard, and began levitating alongside as the bard pounded off spikes climbing upward. At the top, there was a plataeu that narrowed into a cave opening that looked like a massive cornucopia overflowing with massive sweets like tirkish delight, gumdrops, jelly babies, flan, etc. The bard and thief decided to ignore them and spent time hammering in a final spike, when, failing surprise, turned around to see the deserts surrounding them. In desperation they both jumped, with the bard’s boots of levitate slowly loweiring them. They waited for the deserts to drop over, but to no avail. A turn later, they are reinforced by their MU, Anti-Pally, and Assasino, arriving via a giant walking christmas tree-walker

Tiefling lineage is the result of a highly aggressive retrovirus. This virus performs Horizontal Gene Transfer (HGT), splicing non-human DNA into the host. The "cloven hooves", "horns" or "tails" aren't magic; they are atavistic traits triggered by the virus rewriting the skeletal blueprint during puberty.

"Tiefling" isn't a race, but a condition. It’s hereditary because the virus integrates into the germline (eggs and sperm). This explains why Tieflings can be born to human parents—it’s a dormant viral load that finally "expressed" itself.
