Then you probably won't want to get to the industrial era.It really, ultimately, does depend on exactly what you consider personally weird or forced.I made a whole modern fantasy system, and then wrote a whole variant rule subset for "traditional" fantasy that changes out some of the equipment, bans certain Classes or class options, and certain Species for example. I, personally, like the "what if modern day but if technology was replaced/made with magic instead" theme. Some people can't stand it.Ultimately, it's your table, your group, and as a GM your preferences. The important thing is to pick a TTRPG that supports the tech level you prefer.

I personally find that Victorian aesthetics, and even 19th-century firearms, tend to get absorbed into the "generic high fantasy" banner.Whether it is D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Draw Steel, or Daggerheart, it does not seem to be particularly uncommon for one character to be a knight in full plate while another character is a 19th-century-esque gunslinger or pseudo-steampunk gadgeteer (or both).I should know, because I have GMed for and played in parties exactly like this in all of the aforementioned systems.Another oddly specific point where this rings true is that if someone is asked to envision a generic "noblewoman," it is a 50/50 shot on whether they picture something medieval/Renaissance-ish or something more Victorian.Victorian and other 19th-century aesthetics got gobbled up by the "generic high fantasy" genre.

Anyone know where I could get a strong training booster that is limited to stuff you already have potential/talent for?Like a mage with it could rapidly advance their magic, but not necessarily their martial prowess.I want to avoid spreading my jumper's skillset too far and prefer specializing, but if you can become a master of anything in a few weeks/months that doesent really make sense.

The idol gets more screen time than the main heroine it feels like, and I really didn't like her. Lots of episodes meandered and didn't really give us any deeper insights into the main characters or the plot. Main girl is cute and a good partner for the main character but their romance plot only starts in the semifinal episode. It just feels very empty at points, and not in a slice of life way. Nothing happens and we don't get to interact with the characters that matter as much as we should.If it were me I would focus less on the super-of-the-week early on or at least focus more on the main characters and their interactions as they go about it. Cut the idol completely. Focus more on how MC likes main girl after the trauma episode so that the conversion doesn't come out of nowhere with zero impact.But at that point it's a different show in a different genre, so I'll shut my mouth and accept that I was looking for something else and I'm just complaining that I didn't find it. I do think it durdled around too much on irrelevant things and didn't give enough attention to the things that mattered though.
