I agree. I couldn't care less about intellectual property or artist's jobs. In the end, the thing that really bothers me is how uninspired and boring it all looks.

Though, to be fair, human beings can make art that gives me the same feeling. The artwork used in a large share of mobile games comes to mind.

Personal problem, Mister Daddy issues.

Politically, I don't think it's a strongly partisan issue, it's a strongly personal issue for Trump. Some sort of bailout is reasonably likely no matter what government we have, but a Trump bailout will cost us more and preserve more bad operators, because if you give the man a few million dollars, you're his friend.

I was diving in the archives and discovered this thing that /tg/ made a long time ago. Catgirls + an underwater world. It looks like the project withered away and everyone involved left this board ten or so years ago.

So, how was it? Did it ever get off the ground?

This. Chan culture always comes in waves every 4-8 years. The Last cycle was in 2020. Even now Anons on other boards are still doing great things. Board Cultures wax, wane, and wax again.
>/g/ is continually making homebrewed music albums in their /dmpg/ threads as well as continued work on other /g/ projects.
>/g/ also works closely with /v/ and /vg/ in making game engines for /agdg/.
>/v/ keeps doing /v/ The Musical and the Vidya Gaem Awards.
>/v/ and /vg/ under /agdg/ continue to publish games with several anons going on to become successful devs who work for popular indie games.
>/trash/ has a thriving writefag community that continue to this day post stories.
>/lit/ has several recently published books under their belt and dedicated generals for writing as well as threads dedicated to posting OC short stories and flashfiction.
>/co/ has several self published webcomics under their belt an still has a thriving OC community.
>/k/ is still trying to get big meetups going again after nuggetfest crashed and burned.
The future is what we make it. Be the poster you want to see on this board.

I might have image #3, or at least I think I remember seeing on the wikis. We might have to break out Waybackmachine to grab some of these off of the old wiki. 1d6chan's page isn't a complete copy IIRC.
>That pic has a different hash. The image dimensions are the same, though.
Not surprising. I ripped that one from one of the PDFs I have. It might've gotten changed somehow when it was incorporated into the PDF. That might be the only way to save some of these ancient pics. Like pic related.
>This is the first time many of these images have been posted here in over ten years.
It's weird. I'm going to sound like a complete boomer but it really feels like all this was yesterday.
You really don't know your in the good times until they're passed. This is also really goes to show how much the internet has lost in only 10 years as well as how hard of a job historians and archivists will have in the coming decades and centuries.

Weird, I read five nations but admittedly mostly focused on Karrnath so may have missed it when I went through Thrane.

(Also not one of Keith's books so unsure how he'd vote, though IIRC she was a compromise position only created at WotC's insistence so players could potentially get an NPC True Resurrection, so maybe he doesn't really care)

If it's regular or severely slippery it's either a flat 10 or 15, +5 if charging +5 if downhill, The See Text in the saves section seems to imply it does calculate like a save and scales off your casting stat though so maybe it does, though the charging and downhill definitely still apply.
>>
>>97398517
Cheers.
One of the things I like most about the 3.x era was that WotC were more willing to create whole new classes with whole new sets of mechanics, compared to the 5e style of "take an existing class and bolt a new subclass or option to it"

Sure, it was hit or miss, but I'll take misses if they're flavourful and mechanically interesting. When everything is shackled to a base class it's harder to actually explore.

Genuine question as someone that's played 5e for 8 years, played 3 campaigns of PF2e, and played OSE.

Is PF1e playable? Like can I pick up and run it semi quickly? How do I run it so me and my friends play it in the most playable state? I want something that runs well on foundry and is like a normal dungeon crawling game.
>>
>>97399548
I don't expect all options to be equal, so the fact that they buffed it, Chalice, and Mirror at all is already a win. Thaum doesn't really need anything. The Psychic stuff is inexcusable and makes me worried for Runesmith and Necromancer. All their releases for like the last year+ have felt weirdly half assed and filled with errors or things needing clarification. 90% of the Draconic Codex spells could have used another pass either for clarity or being unprintable garbage. Then they don't even put out errata? I'm more surprised when things end up being good these days.
>>
>>97399355
So like...does Paizo just hate Mark Seifter and anything he worked on? I don't know how you can view a class that E V E R Y O N E has complained about in some way and fashion, and think it needed to be NERFED in multiple ways. They couldn't even give it a triple focus point refresh as part of the core progression, it's still a feat.
This isn't even page space concerns, the Psychic was always a numerical issue over a design one (albeit Unleash Psyche could use a rework). And you made the numbers worse?? Do they just think that 2e needs its own 1e Shifter, a class so painfully dysfunctional and never can get anything good??

Hey, is that Potential Man dude still around? I think you win, won't stop your spam anymore...

>>97399624
Ehhh. You gotta learn and there's plenty of awkwardness built into the system like how Full-Round Attacks work, but it is playable. Would recommend Elephant in the Room to get it in its most playable state, and maybe shop around for homebrew like Legendary Games or Dreamscarred Press's work if some class/archetypes don't quite scratch the itch.
>>
>>97295203
"Grond" is the name I'm going with. Descended from a stone giant who was struck with a curse for his arrogance to become flesh and blood.
Half-stolen/inspired, obviously, by actual wow lore. They're a MEDIUM ancestry but have an option to be large, and another option to obviously have two-heads since that's a cool thing for them. I'm still debating whether they're large or medium, actually. Thinking of feats as well that reference them being stone-like, but I don't want to copy the dwarf ones. A trance/meditation one, maybe, where they curl up into a ball like a goron?
>>
>Anathema: Use your magic to meddle with physical forms

Like, if you throw a Fireball to burn something or Disintegrate something to dust, do those kind of things qualify for the anathema? Or just 'no (poly)morph dude' is enough?

>the next BBEG in your campaign is a coomer that goes around kidnapping and mind controlling women for his harem, and literally that’s it.

Does your party even care? Does your setting/game system even care? Assume that the BBEG is an adequate challenge and difficulty for your setting and party (whether it’s Exalted or DND or Rogue Trader or whatever, and the villain is always the right difficulty level for your party whether you’re lvl 1 or lvl 20 or a weenie or a Solar, the scale is perfect).

Basically is this guy a problem you and your crew would want to fix in whatever game you’re playing.

If he isn’t, what would it take to make him be a problem? A bigger bounty or reward? A personal friend that got turned into a harem slave?

The party only cares if they are getting paid to kill him.

As long as there's a bounty for him then they'll deal with him. Besides the party has also got the fact there's a civil war going on in the continent between two rebel groups after the collapse of the empire, so theres plenty of contracts from both sides to also turn in for gold.

Outside the continent the people pretend to care but they won't do anything about it. They'll demand action now but won't do anything themselves because thats too much effort.

It's Ananasi discussion time.

One of the things that was interesting to me about the Metamorphosis is that the Hatar have this unique aspect of not having their emotions get blunted before the changes start, and have it happen over a shorter period, which can lead to a much more chaotic change.
Similarly, the Trenere Wystra have this weird aspect where they collect stuff. Always. Without failure. Whether it's skulls, butterflies or symphonies, they always COLLECT something, it's a compulsion they have.

But they're the only two who get something like this, and I figure more of them need it. So here's what I got (with brief descriptions of what these words mean because Anons might not be familiar with Ananasi terminology):

>Aspects
Aspects are what part of the Triat your spider embodies. This is roughly equivalent to your clan in Vampire, it's who you are as a person.

>Kumoti
Aspect of the Wyld, creatives and as 'chaotic' as the Ananasi get. To emphasise this chaotic nature, I wanted their first indications of change to be much more pronounced - they'll sprout extra eyes or limbs, or so much venom it starts seeping into their saliva. It's a rough time trying to hide that stuff, but they learn to control their transformations faster than most.

>Trenere
Aspect of the Weaver, very organised and orderly, more than a little detached. Their Metamorphosis is an overload of this behaviour. They develop an obsession with neatness and order. Rearranging their bedroom, spontaneously organising every single book based on a system they and only they could hope to understand, or colour-coding every single one of their exam notes. For some, this is a natural fit - for those who were a bit more loosely wound and social, this is another pointed question about why they’ve changed so much.

>Faction
Kind of equivalent to your Auspice in Werewolf. This is how you go about stuff, and the role you play for Ananasa.
There's a special term for all combinations of Aspect and Faction but that seems like a bit of a faff.

>Wystra
Knowers and 'questioners' - which the Ananasi consider their right to do, even if Obedience is a virtue. They're the ones doubting your decisions and finding new ways of doing stuff.
Their compulsion is the collection thing I mentioned earlier, which is fine.

>Viskr
The 'mystics', and balancers who try to keep the other Ananasi in check. They get a few unique rituals to reflect this.
I liked the idea of giving them a compulsion to deconstruct. The Great Web is a mystery to be understood, and that requires understanding its components. They take things apart. Machinery, people's minds, small animals - they just HAVE to understand how it works internally.

>Myrmidon
The most direct and straightforward embodiment of their aspect, and not afraid to get their hands dirty to do it.

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have!

Can there be a symbiotic relationship between rats and crocodiles where crocodiles depend on rats to protect their nests from other predators (including the rats themselves) in return for protection from larger predators?

If not crocodiles, dinosaurs will do. It just has to be a big and powerful reptilian predator.

I'm struggling to figure out a 1500 tomb kings list. So far it's
>tomb prince, high priest, herald
>16 tomb guard, 21 warriors, 6 horse archers, 10 archers
>tomb scorpion
>winged warsphinx
>necrosphinx
I want to run a royal herald, because I have a cool conversion. But without items he seems meh. I could just give him destroyer of eternities but if that seems like too many eggs in the tomb guard basket. Double magic standard similarly seems overkill. Putting tomb prince in chariots seems rough since the tomb guard love my will be done, and a destoyer royal herald likes having a tanky tomb prince to eat challenges.

[Grand Inheritance]
>Auxilliary Master
Sometimes quantity is quality of its own and with this inheritance I will become even more versatile. While some one-trick pony might have his God-Slaying Slash of Oblivion that can kill gods, in time I will find hundreds of ways to do so and laugh from the top of my ivory ziggurat as he dies to that one god his strike doesn't work on.

[Companions]
>Alva, the Necromancer
I can learn much from her. Plus what kind of necromancer would say no to living in a cool-ass mausoleum.
>Iska, the Amalgamation
It would be trivial to make her an undead body of some sort, but I'm more interested in whether or not it would be possible for her to "possess" a small fraction of my spiritual skeleton. Give her a bone, so to speak.

[Events]
>Corpse King
Versatility and unassailable defence agaisnt physical harm are strengths of my methods. If anything, there's always the undefeated "push it in a big hole it can't climb out of and use magic attacks" method.

TL;DR: carve spells into metaphysical bones instead of physical ones, acquire a lot of magic and good defensive abilities. Live in a mausoleum with my necromancer and spirit waifus.

I took the bunny girl with daddy issue, an all female team outside the traitor, a mix of "I don't like you" and justifying how my build got his hands on some skills, was thinking of taking the ninja to enable the bunny, but switch to the Witch(Wanderer).

Otherwise I like the demon that work at an orphanage, could have make an all men team with the characters I like, with maybe one female(Fighter), I like the lizard killing hermit but the sword autist is nice too .

Is Warhammer 40,000 actually a misandrist/female supremacist setting? I'm just thinking about how every apparent accomplishment of the setting's major male players was actually done by a woman behind them e.g. the Emperor and Erda, Vect and Lady Malys, Angron and Lotara Sarrin, the High Lords of Terra and Morven Vahl, etc. etc.

Anon references a youtube channel pushing Nazi style modern rewrites of Anglo-Saxon mythology, so he's probably just against the Middle East and anything semitic in general.

>in a fully materialist view, he is simply testosterone.
One thing I think is pretty fun about the Touge Oni manga is the gods are implied to have these 'real', somewhat Lovecraftian forms that are often a stylized part of human anatomy. Susanoo here is the paranasal sinuses.

We take our footy very seriously. Remember, we play 2 types of rugby as well as AFL and have a soccer league as winter sports and they all make lots of money
