I finally figured out why I have no memory for the generations, besides using an old Graphics Card. When I host, it must be done in a browser, and it defaults to FireFox. If I use Chrome, memory is reduced sharply, giving me more VRAM to use.
Tell me, is there a way to skip using a browser entirely and just have a UI?

Everything in this set is boring so far.
Convoke is an extremely fucking boring mechanic and completely out of place in most colors, ESPECIALLY blue.

But whatever, These are fine. I'd prefer boring over whatever the fuck Aetherdrift was.

I think white is the color it's the most out place if we think about it as giving your creatures a mana ability.
1.Green is the best match
2. Red it is now in pie
3. Blue only makes sense on non creature cards.
4. Black needs an additional cost
5. White doesn't make sense at all. Improvise is a better fit for it.

I figured mostly no one but me will look at them so it would be silly to splurge for 1st editions since it's something I don't really care about.
There are also instances where I didn't use the highest value card I had since I liked another print better, for instance I have the 1st edition MFC Dark Paladain (The one that accidentally uses the SY2 art instead of the correct MFC art) and didn't use it because I think it looks better as a secret rare
I do have 1sts for Shinato, Last Turn, and Thousand Eyes Restrict, which is kinda cool but that's about as far as I take it

I like the idea of decks mostly based around archetypes as long as the card effects aren't too complicated.
I guess I would stop when Kozmo was released because the monsters did one effect based on their archetype plus their own (simple) effect. More than that, and it gets too complicated

you have 1 good 5, 1 okay 5, and 1 not very good 5 so its pretty easy to add in some there
your 4's are tight
3's isn't that hard as u have 1 great 3, 1 good 3, and 1 bad 3

at the 6's the ace is great and regular tigervespa is pretty good but a bit too situational, the rest suck, so its pretty easy to make space there too if needed.
a new tamer would be great as the current winr is a dogshit card

yeah you need to run 8 options (4 royal base 4 proto form) but there is still plenty of space in the build you can make, especially if the new stuff lets you cut down some of the numbers of other things

This.
It already happened with the comic industry. People thought it was an investment, so they bought and bought. The whole thing was a speculation scam, the industry for it collapses, and now comics are shit and collecting them is self-evidently retarded unless you're just an older millennial and you can't let go.
MtG is in the exact same place, except its collapse is just slightly more delayed. Trying to make money from is blisteringly stupid unless it's just a hobby. Buying and selling cards is fine if you pretend it's the adult version of "trading card game," but expecting it to be a career or even viable in the near future is psycho. MtG is obviously on its last legs, has been for a while.

>gameplay
For Centaurs, you should be able to use them as mounts when not in combat if they're lightly armed & armored. I think you could ride into battle with them and fight on their back without overburdening them, depending on your loadout. Squeezing into dungeons and caves might be a bit of a bitch, and your centaur companion may find themselves too cumbersome to accompany you in certain locations. If people in wheelchairs can make do, I'm sure a transmog potion or a shrinking potion might solve the problem.
>fantasy settings
They're more at home here for sure, like having a horse. Some taverns may give you a hard "no" for your centaur companion, but I'm sure regions that are steeped in centaur culture or adjacent ones have accommodations for their unique anatomy. If nothing else, they could help carry your camp supplies and other provisions.
>loadouts for fantasy
If you're not riding them, I think they can be pretty well armed and armored- think tower shield and a mace/flail. They also make good spearmen, so I think they'd be comfortable wielding a halbard and similar pike-style weapons. This would be with them wearing plate mail cuirass for the human portion and chainmail curtain over their horse hind quarters, or perhaps some specially fitted Gambeson. Other plate sections could be fitted to their horse body as needed. Archery and crossbows seem like they'd work for ranged options. I've not considered them using magic, but having a fairly mobile spellcaster seems cool as well.

I like the idea of them being a vanguard artillery regiment. Have them move quickly to secure high ground or other defensible positions. Here are some weapon systems that a 5-man centaur team could carry into the field and deploy themselves.

>Or perhaps steampunk?

Badly. We're talking Maxim gun/repeating fire age so cavalry charges (centaury?) are losing their edge fast, and more than anything the later 1800s are when polygonal forts and especially trenches are becoming the thing in warfare. Because explosive artillery can kill a human as fast as an horse... and horses are actually worse getting down/up in trenches than naked apes. Not to mention, taller, heavier and clumsier.

Still, we're not already in the age of cars (and trucks and so on). Horses are obviously needed for the gap between the railway/port and the actual frontlines - I personally wouldn't use them as beasts of burden, but I suppose their higher load could help units. In general terms I can see them as rangers and colonial/undeveloped areas personnel.
>>
>>97312792
>We're talking Maxim gun/repeating fire
Perhaps. But I don't think they'd be overly common depending on groundedness. (Ball and Cap) Revolvers existed during the Civil War, but your average soldier still used a musket for economical reasons. So it isn't all bad until the canister shots come out.
>Horses are obviously needed for the gap between the railway/port and the actual frontlines
This makes sense however if we are talking steampunk then we may or may not need to consider the possibility of zeppelins and perhaps even airships as a whole. Which even if uncommon they'd be an absolute night-mare for centaurs, both to board and to fight against.

I think it'd be interesting to see how Centuars would behave in an everchanging world. I think if we are willing to suspend some disbelief we could use their size and speed to have them be a portable artillery.
>>
>>97313164

>Revolvers existed during the Civil War, but your average soldier still used a musket for economical reasons. So it isn't all bad until the canister shots come out.

Problem is here machine gun nests, not revolvers.

>I think it'd be interesting to see how Centuars would behave in an everchanging world. I think if we are willing to suspend some disbelief we could use their size and speed to have them be a portable artillery.

Those things were HEAVY anon. Like, four draft horses were needed just to tow the lightest of them.

Rolled 70 (1d99)

Ghosts are the most common form of undeath. The souls of those with unfinished business, they haunt the earthly realm and scare mortals. Most are relatively harmless, but some like poltergeists and wraiths despise the living, tormenting them relentlessly. The Exorcists and Imams of civilized lands claim they were never mortal but were actually Demons. Tribal Shaman and Witch Doctors believe that most ghosts can only be placated through sacrificial rituals, longing for the joys of life they lost in death.

>>
Rolled 20 (1d99)

The DND races USED to be their generic fantasyland selves but now? After some unnamed disaster, they've now closer to the source material:
>Dwarves: the GigaChads of old have withdrawn to deep mines where they stash gold and hide in the veins of the Earth. Some earthquakes have been attributed to them with stories of miners breaking deals or stealing Dwarven gold being commonplace in mining towns and mountainside villages. PCs will know them as clever craftsmen but a complete pain in the ass to deal with for they take offense to ANYTHING, adventurers are advised to be wary among these proud creatures. (German Myth Dorfs)
>Elves: elves have largely gone extinct in the mortal world, but the elves of the fairy lands are still alive. If anything, they've prospered with the decline of the Elfen kingdoms, crossing over to stalk the deep woods of the world in search of new playthings. Elves are childlike for they lack empathy and have taken many to Fairyland where they never return. PCs will know them as terrors that shriek in the dark forests and misty bogs, children of two worlds yet natives to none. (The Fairy Queen)

>>97308033
The Golden Emperor managed to solidify his Empire but had a lot of difficulty producing a male heir. His best generals split the Empire amongst themselves.

>>97299248
Come on.
>>
Rolled 41 (1d99)

Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and Haflings aren't around. Instead, you have minor races filling in the gaps like say:
-Vistani are out stealing shit and kidnapping kids.
-The Caliban work as ditch diggers and undertakers and Walmart employees.
-Thri-Kreen have hives in the deep desert.
-Illithids secretly rule the world.
-Red Caps make damn sure humans stay out of the Fairy realms.

Hey there

I've decided to start a West Marches-style campaign on my LGS. It sounds the perfect style to run for a public setting w/ rotating players, but I myself have never DMed one

Any experiences, tips and advices regarding DM-ing/playing West Marches style games?

Or general tips for running games on LGS ?

For those unfamiliar with West Marches style, here is what google have to say about it:
>Player-Driven Exploration: Players decide where to go and what to explore, venturing into unknown territory from a safe starting town.
>Rotating Cast: A large pool of players participates, but different combinations of adventurers form parties for each session, preventing the need for a single regular group.
>Sandbox World: The world is a sandbox, with the map and plot emerging as players discover new locations and rumors, rather than being dictated by the GM.
>No Fixed Schedule: Sessions occur when players organize themselves, often on a voluntary basis.
>Low GM Prep: The Game Master (GM) focuses on creating a world and potential encounters, responding to player choices, rather than crafting complex plots.
>Self-Contained Sessions: Adventures are often designed to be resolved in a single session, with storylines evolving over time.

Basically, I've been studying more about hexcrawl / hexmaps

I started off listing the types of biomes I would like to feature, and how movement would work on them:
>Plains, desert (arid) & beaches - 3h / hex
>Forest, hills - 4h / hex
>Jungle, swamp - 6h / hex
>Mountains - 8h / hex
This is assuming a party can normally walk 8h a day (so it means that in one day they can cover 2 forest tiles, almost 3 plains tiles or a single mountain tile)

I also created a little system to generate maps. Pic related is a sample (might actually use), which I started off at the X (the concept is that players are part of a shipwreck, X is the main camp)

For coast line:
>Picked a random place to start the top land tile
>Rolled a D8 from there to see where the land goes
>1-2 southwest

You like them because you're a shill/paypig, you only and always like whatever the fuck is the newest thing GW puts out, you'll be on to something else in 6 months, probably not even thinking about necromunda.
>>97311904
Enforcers are for the upper spire and hive city, Helmawr very specifically does not give a fuck about lawlessness in the underhive as he WANTS the gangs down there doing there thing as proxy wars for the houses, all of the stories written in necromunda that demonstrate enforcers only ever show them as being down there for very special circumstances like when a squad went down with a Blank to hunt down Mad Donna as she was setting a dangerous precedent for the nobility.
So, enocuntering them once or twice in a campaign for a special reason is okay, but having someone run a squad as a gang is bullshit.
>>
>>97312769
I'd ask how badly you got trashed by enforcers last campaign, but that suggests you've actually played, so...
>>
>>97312769
The bottom levels of Hive City and the Underhive are porous and there is no clear boundary between them. It makes perfect sense for Enforcers to be around (especially since Nucromunda shifted the focus to extremely well-equipped paramilitary gangs who will have stakes in the City, instead of lowly gangs of malnourished thugs).

That doesn't take away from their unfortunate popularity and appeal to contrarian pests, of course. They may belong in campaigns but I would personally sigh at seeing them in any group of fewer than 6 players, or seeing multiple players using them.

So I got my hands on some old-school chimeras the other day and I've been wondering if they're really as bad as people say they are. These would be the first monsters I'd be adding to my collection and I'm curious if I should even bother figuring out how to make adapter bases so I can use them in TOW or if I should just stick them on 50mm bases and call it a day. Chimeras, yea or nay, and why?

You can intentionally deal non-lethal damage with any weapon, you do take -4 penalty to hit, IIRC.

Has anyone here tried the Slayers D20 System?
Specifically I was wondering how well the Magic system in that would work in an otherwise non homebrew 3.X game.

It's basically a skill roll stamina system. Roll casting check, if fail take non lethal damage based on spell level. Can make it lethal damage for bonus on casting check. That sort of thing.

Would it be safe to use in 3.X? Maybe make it it's own class variant

It will probably be easier to mitigate the downsides of it with D&D materials, but due to the writers flagrantly misunderstanding the setting, the spells also tend to be weaker than they should be (for example, Lina at one point uses Summon Monster to conjure a bird, and the Slayers d20 writes this up as a discrete bird summoning spell). I think it should be safe enough.

I was thinking use the vanilla 3.X spells with the casting mechanic. I guess with still needing to learn spells you are still limited

I actually decided to open up the book and take a look at it again instead of griping about The Bird Spell. Yeah, it still looks pretty cool to me. Kind of like a wizard retooled around skill checks. It struggles a bit with long-term effects and variety, but has a cool vigor effect and nifty item crafting. Unless you do a bunch of custom spell research, I'd say it's almost compares better to the warlock than the wizard. More favorably, perhaps, but then the warlock isn't as good as the wizard, so that's fine.
