>>97370230Ultimately, Kindred die painful, brutal, sudden, dramatic deaths all the time, and suffer strange, horrid, painful, life-alftering incidents just as often. It's something you get used to, and have to live with, no way out of that. Some people go too far into it, turn into horrid little gremlins who just don't care about anybody else whatsoever. And some people just focus on channeling their care into productive things. That last part is the best practice, albeit I am biased a bit because I got cooked alive recently, and my darling siblings put me back together instead of shrugging and tossing me into the sunlight. Very caring of them. The bottom line is, if you care deeply for Boy Toy, the best thing you can do is to focus on ways to actually help your family help him. Freaking out, bawling, shrieking, and acting rashly won't help. Letting his predicament get to you won't help, in general. >>97370729>Don't they have Thaumaturgy for that? There's Thaumaturgy for literally everything and anything you can think of, and more. My Sire just was always supportive of redundancy and broadening his horizons, tapping into powers beyond his own. Kind of what killed him, ultimately.
>>97370832>my darling siblings put me back together instead of shrugging and tossing me into the sunlight. Very caring of them.Family values.>Freaking out, bawling, shrieking, and acting rashly won't help. Letting his predicament get to you won't help, in general. There is a tiny glimmer of hope in this world, but if we ourselves lose sight of it, how could we ever protect it?Scarlet, we're all fighting, it's just that Boy Toy is on a different battlefield, and I believe he is just as brave and selfless as always.>>97370749>I think I can play with shadows now.Oh, my precocious, prodigious cutie pie! Weren't you going to practice with Kakophoni? That doesn't matter, only results do - besides, he has a bigger fish to fry, and so do you in my modest opinion...When you feel you're properly ready, I want you to come to my bedroom, it's been a while since I had a Lasombra - or another practitioner of Obtenebration - entertain me in private, and I think we'd both be delighted to see the fruits of your labour. Aren't you curious?

>>97370009Waiting for the box and then I get everything I want/need and start kitbashing like crazy. Still questioning the sanity of delaying ranged units for an army that's supposed to focus on defensive doctrine centered around holding a wall.
>>97371277Jesus fucking christ. Dunno why i thought beastmen had armour beyond shields. Least HW+shields gives em 5+ in melee.
>>97371191Nah I just remember conversing with someone really into the HRE a couple of threads ago, figured that might be you based on the long post and the bit about holy roman centres of learning lel.Anyway, Hochland's pretty cool. Probably my favourite imperial province, though I don't know too much about them (or empire in general). Just seems like a cool place.

>>97371315You can't just keep using molds from the 90's, retard. Problem with pewter isn't sculpting or molds, it's the price of tin shooting up periodically.
It is the year 199X. Your friends have just sent you a text message to your Nokia 3210, saying they can't make tonight's D&D game.Which of these games do you play, to single-playerly experience that classic 'dungeon crawler' feel?

Necromancy Edition>What is Trench Crusade? An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.>What Trench Crusade is notTC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.>What's the QRD on the background? The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.>How do I get started? All the files are free online:https://www.trenchcrusade.com/rules/Comment too long. >>97363592>>97364351Thanks for the continued advice! My notion with one pilgrim with a rifle is that it would be useful to have a guy that is useful for doing objectives so might be further away, but can still take some ranged shots while the rest of the force besides the Anchorite are more mid-to-close range. >>97365355>torp light cruisersThey're a bundle of fun. Endeavours can use their S2 torpedo salvos to snipe enemy torpedoes and peel fighters off of airstrikes, while a couple Dauntlesses hit like a cruiser but fold quickly when they take fire (a typical cruiser lasts about 4-5 turns slugging it out with another cruiser before it's crippled; a light cruiser is more like 2-3)>Dictator over LunarI do like a Dic. They don't support the light cruisers quite as well as a Lunar -- Lances ignoring blast markers is a hell of a drug. But it is a pretty solid little ship that works well as a battleship's escort. The Mars (a Dictator with lances on top) is kind of the default support carrier and flagship for a lot of players because it's punchy and flexible, but it also costs a lot more than the Dic. The nova cannon, 60cm lances and 45cm batteries are a hell of a drug. You can get a battlecruiser in your fleet as long as you have at least two regular or light cruisers, so it's legal with what you already have. With an Admiral and the battleship it ought to be just shy of 900 points, just enough for a squadron of escorts or another Light Cruiser. If you don't want to bother with attack craft at all, then Bakka can sort of get away with not using carriers. Which is good because the only carriers they actually get are two "named character" ships and a battlecruiser carrier with broadside lances that's.. about as good as the Mars. Better fighter supporting a proper fleet, worse as a small flotilla flagship. Also it looks ugly. This is all without getting into the weeds about Reserves and allies, but really you can get by for quite a while without bothering about all that.
For the Anon in /awg/ - >>97365703>Anyone who does inq28 got any tips for sparking inspiration and then kitbashing well?Unironically go out and look at non-40k art. Especially Surrealist and plague-era medieval art, weird-ass Eastern-bloc animation, pre-Tolkien fantasy and SF. Block in shapes and write down cool ideas. Look at the actual shapes of things instead of just the textures. Buy cheap minis and hold random bits up to them to see if something calls out to you. Pic related is a serum bottle, a trashed Sentinel, a Kinder egg and some random scrap with an old knight model and a plastic dwarf nailed to them.
>>97369941>Unfortunately the list building got made worseThat really is unfortunate because I was planning to get the core book and army list with the intent of then using them to build forces in other settings as counts-as, then the new edition dropped. Serves me right for procastinating. Is it that bad?
>>97370043I found some third party tilesets, but nothing cmpatible with those old sets. Admittedly, I'm no expert in looking for 3d printed stuff. Prices are crazy like for everything warhammer related (still mad at the price for the metal ikit claw, it was available from GW until a few months ago, you can't sell it at the same prices of a metal deathmaster snikch or queek headtaker), so I have no hope of getting a box any time soon.
>>97369375You're welcome fellow fa/tg/uy.

>>97358187how are their thoughts on 3D printers?or using AI to help make 3D printed designs?
>>97370258Buddy. You can literally watch the loans taken out to invest in AI be piled on with new loans to handle those loans. Too much hypothetical money has been staked on something that isn't returning nearly enough, and that won't be returning nearly enough. A bunch of businessmen who don't understand technology literally bought into the hype, and now they have nowhere to go because the hype was just an illusion.

>>97370973Technically, since the top size class is just "over 300 meters", I could declare myself whatever size I am as long as it's above it, right? Like I could make galaxy sized Kaiju?
>>97371448Honestly size categories are the iffiest part of the CYOA for me. Personally I’d cap it at 200m at most, it’s quite rare for kaiju in movies to exceed those heights (vertically). But that might not be the best solution for people who want to actually make a 300m tall kaiju
>>97371399>Hybrid build>With the shit budgetYou can't do that, the shit budget doesn't allow for anything other than extreme specialization.>>97371429Not all the points maybe but definitely more than what the shit rules give. You can't make anything fun with that.

Thread dedicated to Sci-Fi based discussion. 40k need not apply. [\spoiler]How goes your sci-fi setting, anon? I am currently running a Traveller game in a homebrew setting, and am getting lost in the sauce of stellar physics.
>>97358565>How does that work in setting? Fluff-wise I mean?Only high level Hyperspace Physicists and Mathematicians could begin to explain it, and no matter what they tell you, extended study of the subject leaves a person noticeably less sane than when they began.According to them, in very simple explanations, Hyperspace travelling ships need a sentient mind in the same way an ocean-going ship needs a rudder. The rudder isn't aware of what it itself is doing, it doesn't need to move, it doesn't need to understand how the sails or engines or turbines function. Of course, that doesn't really make too much sense, but anything more takes a few years of university lectures or twenty hours of mind-numbing youtube videos, just to reach an initial understanding that Hyperspace is on some level, definitely psychic, but saying that right away to someone on the street makes the experts sound like quacks."Brain in a jar," stuff does weird with Hyperspace. The hyperspace drive turns on, does its stuff, the ship jumps away and... It doesn't reach the destination. Maybe it went somewhere else. Maybe it never left hyperspace. If, when, it's spat out, the ship is twisted, distorted. Or sometimes the ship is spat right back out a few seconds later, exactly where it entered, totally unharmed, except the, living "brain-in-a-jar," is totally gone, vanished, despite not being connected to anything beyond basic life support...The background psychic stuff is so that the setting has some rules to justify why 18m mecha are the most efficient ways of fighting, why mass AI drones won't take over, why super ace pilots are so valuable. The real deep lore explanation is that: Aliens from a higher dimension explored our realm for some purpose, they changed the laws of our reality to make their stuff work. Giant mecha were their form of astronaut suits. Hyperspace was their creation. Earth was part of their experiments.
>>97364984>bombarding their problems from orbit? How can you get anything from a location if it's just a smoking crater? Also meat will always be cheaper and more flexible than steel. You can throw a bunch of men at a problem and they can adapt. Robots might run into unforseen problems that could be overlooked. Meanwhile humans you know how they can act normally, what can and can't kill them and there's always more to throw into a problem. Sometimes even with an air of plausible deniability
>>97366921>Has an explanation in Laymans terms, technical terms and a deep lore reasonAbsolute King shit right there, I love it and would shake your hand if I could.
>>97352596Cepheus is more of a pre-Star Wars space opera. Stars Without Number is more of science fantasy by default (although you can easily turn it into something harder by mashing it with Cities).SWN has D&D levelling, but the math is closer to Basic D&D, so HP bloat is less of a problem.
>>97350282Haven't touched Traveller for years, since second edition, the quality of the book was fucking terrible and fell apart after barely any use, got it replaced. How are the editions since then?
