>>97222836hymn to tourach unbanned could work since it feeds two of the most popular decks in pauper (terror and madness)they won't do it because it would kill literally every other deck except for maybe jund wildfire
>>97222225High Tide was the single best example as to why powerlevel shouldn't be the only motivator behind bans. No, I don't want to watch you have a 30 minute turn and not even be able to concede because you can still faceplant at the finish line. Your deck takes forever and it often doesn't even win lmao.
>>97222955I would just want to build mono black discard.
>>97222970Sincerely playing against high tide was some of the least fun I’ve ever had playing magic. At least when affinity is raping me I’m feeling some sort of emotion, even if it is indescribable rage. Going against high tide in MTGO meant either a game where nothing happens at all or a game where I pass turn for 25 minutes and wait to see if I lose.
>>97222985you also have counterplay against affinity. against high tide you either snipe a couple of them with duress or you hope the opponent bricks

>>97222835I used wooden skewers and store-bought alligator clips to make mine. I still haven't solved the best way to attach the clip to the stick though.
>>97222835Bonus tip: you can make a stick holder out of any old corrugated cardboard. Just sandwich a bunch of pieces together, they don't even have to be the same height. Alternatively, I believe some companies sell cardboard cat scratcher boards that work perfectly for holding the sticks.

It's really fucking wild all Heavy type armour does is grant a psychological advantage. It could worsen breaching by one, for example, seeing as the edition is against rerolls. This would've meant Saturnine armour wouldn't need that specific caveat about self hits worsening their breaching just because; it would be explained by their Heavy typing

Does anyone else feel like the Byzantine Empire is the closest thing human-kind had to an Elven civilization analogy during our actual history's middle ages? Or am I crazy?Even the part where their highly advanced culture was eventually wiped off the face of the Earth and forgotten in most normie perceptions of history.
>>97222207I remember reading some schlock spiritual novel (maybe The Way of the Peaceful Warrior?) that put forth the idea that the Mayans had disappeared as a civilization because on a societal level they attained spiritual enlightenment and ascended into a higher plane of existence. Maybe the Mayans were elves.

One of the most prolific 'writers' half the scenarios are bad is called lovecrafts cat herder and leddit does NOT like that.
>>97221949The Dog is good - simple notes and basic structure with some evocative optional stuff included. The one about the Hungarian Emperor coming back as zombie Napoleon would probably be cool if it was a full scenario instead of chopped up to fit the word limit. This new captcha is pretty good fun.
>>97221949it might be a bit 'cheap', yeah. on the other hand, if it results in a complete and functional scenario then I'm willing to forgive it. (at least as long as they're relatively uncommon novelties) >>97221974that was my impression of that one too, it's a cool idea but needed (and could support) more fleshing out to really do it justice. definitely a cool setting for something.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. >>97222721>That's fair, that's fair. We should probably warn you though, OSR games aren't very romantic by nature. PCs die like pigs hap-hazard all the time.To die in search of something romantic is even more romantic

>>97222508As a side to the aforementioned disneywood problems, the original Wormskin Zines are well worth looking at and using various parts to add to your campaign. They have a lot of useable material that has a more earnest approach and tone than the newer stuff and more direct use with b/x.

I can see your taste, but I can also tell you have talent. Just try to keep your fetishes in check and you are welcomed (even though I am curious myself)
>>97221426I don't particularly like trying to 'correct' people, especially since i'm not really a drawfag, but, just in my own experience, for example, if it were me, I probably wouldn't draw women with the face folds and wrinkles. They make them look a lot older. I tried removing it, and lo and behold she looks like 30 years younger to me.Of course, it's clear you've got a good 'skill base' so the potential is there.
>>97222206Yeah, face details are tricky, requiring a lot of practice with line thickness and balancing a shade color with a solid border. I'm still ultra noob on shading myself, so for my own morale I've been trying to hold off on expressions like big smiles that my autism tells me would absolutely involve creases and dimples and the likes.
>>97221426All drawfags are welcome here as long as you're not a dumb asshole or spamming fetishy stuff. As for unasked for critique... lines are a kinda way jagged. I have the same problem and some advice I got was to loosen the pencil/stylus grip and cut back on caffeine. Also tracing or practicing with stencils over and over again can help stabilize your muscles as they get stronger.
Requesting a fiend patron. In a warlock only game where the main gimmick is that the party is on a journey to unseal their respective patrons in exchange for a place int the new world they seek to create. The other gimmick is that all our patrons fucking hate each other.I chose the fiend patron, a wendigo looking freak the has an ancient beef with one of the parties celestial patron. In order to piss him of more, my patron has taken up pretending to angel with holy intentions to steal followers and potential pact makers from the celestial.

>>97220297>it's fun to imagine all the pretty clothes my character can wear.Actually true. I don't know if it's just the fashion culture, but guy's clothes feel more samey than a lady that's offered eight types of necklines, a myriad of pleat styles, or even just an opening in the dress to flaunt back or hip. Yes it's fantasy, you can give men ruffles and codpieces and tights and patterns like you can't really find in current year factory production fashion, but then you risk being a homo fruit for wanting to play a member of the Swiss Guard and not a knight in plate armor where the most variance is in helmet shape. My sorceress for example was designed with the idea of her fire magic making her naturally warm enough for minimal layers while wanting to have flair, and that accidentally reverse-engineered a belly-dancer outfit. A sash-supported top for lots of skin exposure, but tied with excess along with a long flowing dress skirt and veil capelet for accentuating and allowing for freedom of movement.

>>97221946I get you, it IS fucky and memorable, especially for a one-shot where Corruption consequences don't matter barring some very specific rolls. But it also would make me very wary of the GM invalidating character choices in the middle of a campaign like that. Spending XP to be good at X thing just to be told anti-X happens because Chaos would be a frustrating experience. So personally, I'd need that "I wouldn't do that in a campaign" said out loud by you, if I were your player.
>>97221791They have natural children for the bragging rights and prestige. Ironically the nuclear family sans picket fence is the Commorrite Dream, the sign you made it, because you could both fuck another Comorrite, wait out the lenghty Eldar pregnancy, and raise that child without anyone involved getting murdered by each other, by rivals, or by an otherwise uninvolved conspiracy you just happened to get caught in.
>>97222284oh understandable. For sure, you have to do it with people you know and who trust you not to be an asshole. We have been playing a while already, and 3/4 players I've known for years.
>>97220239>>97220243To be honest, in the DW campaign I'm in, I would have totally thought that was cool. I get people saying "bah! 10 corruption points is so punishing!" but the limit is 100 and even in a long deathwatch campaign, it will take forever for it to matter. I slightly agree with WP success punishing you for having high WP but I think it would give away the hallucination to easily for what it is.
