>Death is a natural part of the lifecycle, one which christianity has essentially nothing to say on because it just goes on about the afterlife instead.
Christianity has a lot to say about death though? Jesus was pretty clear that death sucks and is unfortunately inevitable for all living things. That's why he emphasized the importance of living a good life because of how precious and limited one's time on Earth is (also, perhaps more importantly, no one really dies; if you are a good person you won't even really die, and a bad person will suffer the true death and go to Hell). I don't get what you mean about the afterlife, every religion devotes a huge chunk of its scriptures to discussions on the afterlife and what it takes to get the good ending.
>>
>>97404547
>I don't get what you mean about the afterlife
As you say:
>no one really dies
The act of dying is not emphasized in christianity because the goal is essentially to not die (which is nonsense).
>every religion devotes a huge chunk of its scriptures to discussions on the afterlife and what it takes to get the good ending.
No.

How could gnosticism come from christianity if christianity has no pseudo-gnostic elements, anon?
I'm not saying their textual interpretations are correct, but they certainly have plenty of things to draw from in the bible.

Why did the Emperor suddenly get all blinged up? He used to be a rotten corpse on a life support machine. Was it satire on how Gangsters and conmen use bling to impress idiots?
>>
>>97406611
Bling is used to indicate status by everyone who isn't a jew (because they're hiding it) or a protestant (because they gave it all to jews).

Trolls are a lot like Ogres in the sense there's so many different versions of them. Do violent animals, to smart enough to talk but very dumbly. To being hurt/turned to stone by sunlight to immune to sunlight. Often times they can just be giants or small giants.

I do like the new AoS trolls GW has made ut they've gone into the 'long floppy ear' troll aesthetic your pic also does.
WoW trolls being blue warhammer trolls but with longer trolls and are jamaicans with voodoos magic is the worst type of troll ever conceived

What do you think is more poplular? A roughly translated japanese game that is barely updated or two games who are constantly updated and which get feedback from the thread and the dicords. Yes you can play all the various systems in the OP but most of the time is just a couple of plays then you look form something more concrete. You often see people asking questions about the other games but they then realise that either they get no answer or that there isn't much to do

Tried to play ONE game of standard

get put on the draw
opponent has turn 1 elf
I have tapland
opponent sits and does nothing until my end step then its just a dig spell
I have a tapland, he digs
opponent turn 3 he casts kona, omniscience, like 50 spells and win the game
wahoo bing bing what a game

turn 3 omniscience in standard we really fucking needed that great job wizards
>>
So which cards have any practical impact on standard you guys think? So far the only big ones from what I can tell is MAYBE theres enough BS to make rakdos goblins a thing, but probably not. Moonshadow can probably fit in some black decks. And bitterbloom in dimir, maybe. This set feels kinda weak. Which is to say it feels fine but there has been such unfiltered BS recently this set feels weaker compared to them.

The Paladin has been POISONED! He will instantly die with no antidote. A Thief holds out the antidote and pours it all on the floor. 'Drink if you wanna live.'

The Paladin gets on his knees and licks the floor. He's feeling better already. But when he tries to kill the Thief, he finds out he has fallen. He just lost all powers!

Why did this happen? Simple. Honor is the soul of all Paladins with no exception. Without honor, there can be no Lawful Goodness.

There's nothing more dishonorable than getting on your knees and licking the floor like every dog.

That's the parable of the Paladin and the Thief. Remember it well.

In Japan, there was once a poisoned Samurai in a similar situation. A Ninja poured the antidote on the floor. Do you know what the Samurai did? He stripped out of all armor, took his Daikatana, and did Harakiri right there. His last words? 'I will never lick the floor like a dog.'

He died with great Honor and became legendary for it. Now THAT'S a Paladin!

>But it's not honorable to die!

Naw, you are describing PRIDE, not HONOUR. Samuri were prideful selfish cunts, more Lawful Evil than Lawful Good. A true Lawful Good Paladin is humble and selfless, he doesnt care about what others thinks of him, as serving and protecting those he has sworn to do is his main aim. a True Paladin would lick up the antidote so that he can continue to selflessly serve and protect those in need of it. Try to avoid the eastern stories as their selfishness seem to be confusing you about what true honour is. Read about the knights of the round table - Lancelot is one exanple, he rode in a cart (a shamefull thing for a knight) so that he could rescue his kidnapped queen. That's how you play Lawful Good Paladins, sefless and prideless sacrifice for others, not self obsessed narcasistic japanese nutjobs.
>>
>>97406501
100% this. A paladin would eat off the floor, sleep in a barn, walk instead of ride a horse, all that and more if it meant someone in greater need gets better treatment. To be Lawful Good is to relinquish the lavish and ostentatious willingly.
>>
>>97401429
The asian concept of honor is literally "You mildly embarrassed me! Kill yourself!" or "You mildly embarrassed me! I'm going to strangle a defenseless child to death" with no inbetween.

Asians have no honor. They just lash out at anyone that hurts their feelings like a spoiled toddler. Know what we call that? "Pride", and it's been considered a sin since ancient times.

For Centaurs, you should be able to use them as mounts when not in combat if they're lightly armed & armored. I think you could ride into battle with them and fight on their back without overburdening them, depending on your loadout. Squeezing into dungeons and caves might be a bit of a bitch, and your centaur companion may find themselves too cumbersome to accompany you in certain locations. If people in wheelchairs can make do, I'm sure a transmog potion or a shrinking potion might solve the problem.
>fantasy settings
They're more at home here for sure, like having a horse. Some taverns may give you a hard "no" for your centaur companion, but I'm sure regions that are steeped in centaur culture or adjacent ones have accommodations for their unique anatomy. If nothing else, they could help carry your camp supplies and other provisions.
>loadouts for fantasy
If you're not riding them, I think they can be pretty well armed and armored- think tower shield and a mace/flail. They also make good spearmen, so I think they'd be comfortable wielding a halbard and similar pike-style weapons. This would be with them wearing plate mail cuirass for the human portion and chainmail curtain over their horse hind quarters, or perhaps some specially fitted Gambeson. Other plate sections could be fitted to their horse body as needed. Archery and crossbows seem like they'd work for ranged options. I've not considered them using magic, but having a fairly mobile spellcaster seems cool as well.

>You transform your appearance. You decide what you look like, including your height, weight, facial features, sound of your voice, hair length, coloration, and distinguishing characteristics, if any. You can make yourself appear as a member of another race, though none of your statistics change. You also can't appear as a creature of a different size than you, and your basic shape stays the same; if you're bipedal, you can't use this spell to become quadrupedal, for instance. At any time for the duration of the spell, you can use your action to change your appearance in this way again.
>You decide what you look like

Reminder that studies show that one in three people have at least occasional curiosity about being the opposite gender for a while and two out of three people are disappointed with their body, meaning DnD spellcasters would be freaky as fuck with switching up gender or physical attributes when they don't have to use their spellslots for combat or other dungeon crawling activities.
It's not outright stated but the norm is that any spell cast on the same place or person for a year becomes permanent
This means there's a small chance that any female spellcaster you meet might be a futanari

Writing General: 'festive' edition

Welcome to /wg/, the thread for all /tg/ related writing. Whether you're plotting your campaign, trying to come up with a character backstory, or just trying to write some setting fluff, this is the place to post it. You don't even have a campaign, just an idea you want to develop? You're welcome here. While the rest of /tg/ is arguing over monstergirl mating and which way rivers are supposed to flow, we're here to help you turn your thoughts into an actual finished product.

As the successor to the Storythreads, we're also open to /tg/ related fanfiction (D&D, Warhammer, Battletech, whatever). In fact, if you've written any vaguely /tg/-related short stories, you can try them out here. We also have flash-fiction challenges from time to time.

There's a discord for writers here
https://discord.gg/6AwKHGF

The previous thread can still be found in the archive here

I want to start some sort of writing project, I think about it all day but I can't get myself to sit down and do it. As a result, the details are nebulous and I can't make up my mind about anything. I think it's because of unmedicated ADHD, do you guys have any suggestions aside from getting medicated (not an option)?
>>
>>97401363
Decide that there will be a specific time on a specific day when you will do writing stuff.
Develop some kind of ritual and habit, and do it every time before writing.
Decide on what you will be writing today BEFORE the session starts. Write this down. It can be notes, a small list, or just some random ideas. You shouldn't have to think what you want to write before writing.
Get rid of as many distractions as possible.
Even if you manage to focus only for a couple of minutes, it's important to keep doing this. Ideally every day.

>At what point do you stop reading
When I learn what it wants to say to me, and if that thing it wants to say is not what I want to listen to.

I'm probably a monster but when I have a finite amount of time to kill and books to fill it, I'll start with a book on a page several chapters in and see what it does to grab my attention, if it doesn't I move on and the book I put down itself isn't spoiled for me in the least.

Well before a midpoint a book should have something it's working towards, so this is why I start some chapters in, that momentum should have picked up already. If the direction is there and language keeps me in, I restart the book from page 1. Next I critique the hook. I hate a cheap hook. Sometimes I stop reading after I get to the hook, lamenting the value I saw, but at least I tried a little harder with it, or so I tell myself. If it's good, I'll attempt to get to the spot where I first started. If I 'make it' back to where I started I will typically keep reading until either I run out of time or the book ends. I ended up finishing books I did this with, largely because there was a premise I liked, but others really bait me hard like "I who have never known men" A crunchy premise is worth it's weight in gold even if your characters end up doing nothing with it. I can forgive a frustrating book like that when it's both intriguing to think about and slim enough to finish within a few hours.

If you're talking about YOUR book.. give me a while to open your link, I have DND tonight but I'll give it a gander later. I'm fucking ruthless and full of weird advice so ymmv.

Question for the thread.. What music do you listen to and how does it impact your writing?
>>
>>97405175
Man, I can't listen to music at all when I'm writing.

I'd be interested in your harsh critique of my white lily story and chronicler's stuff just to see what your critiques are like and I'd like to read something of yours if you're interested in posting.

Necromancy Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
