I don't have the specific edition you are asking about, but here's what DA20 says about hunting.
>>
>>97180257
Presence spam and expecting the blood bond to just make her compliant. The chronicle was a bit of a hot mess since it was my first time running one but it lasted a few months so id say it was mostly successful until the toreador player did everything in his power to tank the game. Pointing out plot holes, anti metagaming, subtle remarks to tilt me, etc. I did write up a way for her to reconcile with him but he ultimately rejected it.
>>
>>97180614
>expecting the blood bond to just make her compliant
As it SHOULD.
>>
>>97180614
The thing is, presence spam + blood bond SHOULD work until he neglects feeding her some blood and then it stops working or something. You were kind of being a fag by doing it so fast. Tbh though I don't blame you because the toreador sounds like a fag too. I think you should consider dealing with problem players like that in the future by talking it out with them instead of letting it go on. I'm sure he somewhat meant well, but I can see how it can get annoying. My two cents:
>tldr you were both being fags but your guy sounds like a pain to deal with
>>97180569
>to a minimum of three
Surely they mean a maximum right? Is this retardation on my end or lack of proofreading on their end?
>>
>>97180569
WoD/DarkAges/Core/2nd Edition is the address in the mega file if you want to find it.
Thanks though, that was exactly what I was looking for. If herd background just increases the dice pool you have for 'successfully hunting,' how does one conceptualize a failed hunt amidst their own herd? I cant imagine a vampire would tolerate refusal to feed, nevertheless amongst their herd. In my current Chronicle, this herd lives in a farmhouse above their vampire's subterranean laboratory, so how do you fail that? Guess they are just out at the tavern that night? Too sick too feed off of? Any failure I can dream of though is more circumstantial than any failing of the character.

If the players and DM trust each other, yes. If everyone is fair about it, yes.
A player trying to pull a Bill&Ted where they just happen to be carrying a set of ogre-sized manacles upon encountering a BDSM-loving ogre is a step too far, but a reasonable "Since my character has been writing love letters every night, he would have a bottle of ink that I forgot to put on my character sheet. Is it okay if I squeeze that into my bag?" is hardly the place to draw a hard line of "NO, YOU'VE BEEN WRITING THOSE LETTERS IN EITHER YOUR BLOOD OR SHIT, YOUR CHOICE."

Post franchises you think should be or should have gotten tabletop RPGs or war games.

Considering how wild the 90's was, I'm legitimately surprised this of all things didn't get one, frankly.

There was never an official Ultima RPG, that I'm aware of it. There were two fan versions though, but those came out long after the franchise was mostly forgotten. Ultima was huge in the 80s and most of the 90s, with a very long series of 9 games plus half a dozen spinoffs. Probably never got a tabletop version because it was considered competition by TSR in the 1990s and its popularity was fading even in the video game realm.

Yeah it's just a cool little thing you get to do as someone with European ancestry. Just look up your last name and its heraldry and you'll usually get some sort of coat of arms.
>>
>>97180634
I did this for my Bretonnians for whfb. The best part about having a common last name is getting to have a selection between the Irish, Scottish, and English versions.
>>
>>97180634
Depends on the name. A lot of names that are place derived will have that, but a lot of trade derived names might be a little looser, like fletcher or smith. Guess you could use a guild coat then I suppose.

EXPEDITION is a ~1880s era, Jules Verne-inspired retro-futurist, underground blood soaked adventurescape.

I'm going to assume each 45 pts Tarantula is armed with a 20 pts. Half because the average of its weapon options (15/15/15/20/25) is 18, half because twin las is an appealing option, but mostly because I just wouldn't dare throw tacticals at volkite turrets lmao
>so unless your Tacticals are wiping one out in their own Shooting phase and one in the Assault phase
1.- 10 marines move into position. Two turrets React Auto fire with Twin Lascannons, resulting in 2 deaths
2.- 8 marines (no Fury) do 1.8 HP to the far-away turret, killing it.
3.- Third Edition allows charging a unit different from the one you just fired at. 7-8 tacticals charge the close turret, attacking it with Krak grenades. They do about 3 HP to it, killing it

How many players do your current game(s) have?

How much is too much?

What's the smallest group you've been with? What's the biggest?

For me three players is the comfiest. I've ran games for two, and there was this time the table had 12 players. It was a complete shitshow but it was fun giving the GM a headache.
>>
>>97179894
>How many players do your current game(s) have?

6
>What's the smallest group you've been with? What's the biggest?
2 and 6

I find four is a good number almost all of the time, so I try for five players in a lot of my games. That way, if one person cancels, you still have four, and if two people cancel, I still feel like I can run.
>>
>>97179894
Depends on the game as for the first question. For the second, I think the best is 4 players + 1 GM, and the minimum/maximum for a good time is 3 to 5 players.
>>
>>97179894
I have two games each with 4 players. I do concur that three players is the comfiest. My smallest "group" was 1 player and my largest was 12. None of them went well.

Smallest is 3 until we got a 4th. Biggest is 6, but someone dropped early on
>>
>>97179894

In between campaigns now.

Too much: greatly depends on the game. The Final Girl would perhaps take ten. Generally 6 is already a big stretch.

Smallest: 2. Biggest: 12, I think.

>~ The Scarlet Queen of Hurts
>Vamp of Vampires, Baddest Vixen Under the Sun and The Artist Formerly Known as "Red"
That is one way to introduce oneself. I don't know when to expect it, but Scarlet's embrace should be imminent, given her tattoos and piercings are gone. I think she gained a few pounds of muscle.
In short, she was a blood doll we rescued from the Sabbat, with a fascination for evil that she expressed in music, in what Boy Toy identified as an "avantgarde blackened death/doom metal one-woman band." I found teaching her to be far more challenging than listening to her, eventually we settled for the bare minimum overdrive when using the guitar in my classes and for somebody to else to instruct her on the drum and bass. As for singing, I won her resistance as soon as I showed her how long I can hold my lowest note. I was also charged to play as a Prince in simulated debuts, given my intimate knowledge of the Ventrue and expertise in acting.
Boy Toy noticed Scarlet's near-complete collection of De Sade's writings so she gifted her his copies of Georges Bataille's Story of the Eye and Erotism: Death and Sensuality, not too long after I saw her march to his room armed with strap-on, flogger, cane and a borrowed black fox, the same coat Mother wore last time.
When Mercury Lamp was assigned to teaching Scarlet manners, she gave her a present: a teddy bear covered in bandages, scars, burns and is missing an arm and eye, when you pull on its string it cries from its good eye and implores "Mommy" to stop hurting it. They immediately became friends.
Another clue that the embrace could be as soon as she says is that uncle The Devil Wears Me has been working on a very striking black gown that no Harpy would touch. She told us many times she hates both "NSBM" and "RAC", but this didn't stop her from being an avid reader of his books on the Holocaust, mainly those on female Nazi party members and concentration camp guards translated from German and Polish.

>Are we not freaked out at least a little about all of them? It is a fair thing to worry about though, shit is going bump in the night more than anyone is comfortable with these days.

Oh, see, there's 'well, I am reasonably worried that one of these nights a really powerful vampire might shit itself out of a crypt and eat me'. I'm a clairvoyant, I can see shit, I had a really fun time during the Week of Nightmares, so I'm reasonably worried, you know.

And then there's 'HE'S GOING TO SHOW UP ANYTIME NOW OH GOD OH FUCK', which is the level that guy operates on. The fact that he's been running around freaking out about it for well over a century, apparently, with no Nossie progenitor to speak of thus far, seems to not sabotage his utmost belief in that it will totes happen sometime soon. I'm yet to figure out if he's doing something to delay it, or he's just demented and mentally unwell. Both, maybe!

A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
