>I won the game in the end, but it was pretty clutch due to my Ghorgon going down to 1 wound from his greatswords (after a charge into them with it and my razorgor), and after falling back in good order (rip piglet)
Oof, you must have had some rough rolls on that. The pig by itself can route greatswords with good luck. Guessing no primal fury at minimum, but still, thats rough.
What was the other spell you rolled if you remember?

Earther ramparts, not really the best spell for beastmen since cover won't do much when I want to move up close and personal

On an obj game it does have a strong use case against armies like empire with large unit size. A single spell turning off rank bonus is pretty amazing when you want to be charged.
Hard to say which spell I'd drop in your position... How many times did you get the mystical pathways off?

Everyone I know who watches Fatt Coville videos is a fucking terrible GM. I've never fully watched one and I am widely considered the best GM out of all 3 groups I'm part of. I am regularly requested to run campaigns. People borderline fall asleep in the games others run. There's also no tension because they know that these Coville acolytes will fudge rolls until all PCs survive the battle.

If you're a good GM, it's an inmate talent you can hone over time. You're born that way. If you aren't, then no amount of shitty advice is going to make up for your lack of talent. It just is what it is. This idea that everyone should "try" DMing is retarded. The idea that anyone can be good at it? lolno. Its like some fat divorced on who suddenly decides he's gonna become a famous author. Fat chance. Most people fucking suck at GMing. Hell, most of them suck at playing, but at least in that case the game depends less on them.

>Maybe Fatt Coville isa good DM, but his hordes of Patreon simps that blindly copy his stupid ideas, rarely are.
He's not. He talks a big game and loves to say things that sound intelligent, but in practice he runs games with a lot of blunt force railroading.
>In videos: Be flexible! Improv! Put the spotlight on the PCs since they're the stars! If they come up with a cool idea, just use it! Player choices matter!
>In practice: Talks over the players. Spews obnoxious drawn out exposition dumps instead of player-NPC interaction. Gets annoyed when players don't immediately follow the exact things he planned from start to finish for the entire campaign. Whenever they go outside of his plans, he just forces them back on rails. Cutscene narration as often as possible.
>>
>>97252486
>Spews obnoxious drawn out exposition dumps instead of player-NPC interaction.
This is happening in our game right now. It sucks because our GM is usually great, but the module he's running is really terrible.

I've been told the standard D&D character is now a human female fighter and the fighter section has had gender neutral language replaced with she and her to accommodate the fandom
Do all the boys who play really just want to be girls? How do we make them want to not be fighters or humans? Why aren't tieflings the most popular?

1 is basic combinatorics. There's 8 options for the first school, and 7 options for the second. That gives 56 total pairs, but it's actually 28 unique pairs as Abjuration/Divination is the same as Divination/Abjuration. That gives 26 remaining after Enchantment/Necromancy and Conjuration/Divination are spoken for.

2 you're gonna have to just sit down with an excel spreadsheet and start coming up with words.

NTA, I like Blight Dragon, works nicely.

Here are some I made on the fly (pun not intended):
Equinox (Evocation/Abjuration)
Stygian (Divination/Necromancy)
Eclipse (Necromancy/Abjuration)
Empyrean (Evocation/Conjuration)
Phantasm (Illusion/Abjuration)
Scourge (Transmutation/Necromancy, and yes this is a Warcraft reference)

I’ve been reading the ASOIAF books after reading the Dune series, since I like the great house culture of it and it reminds me of Battletech.

If the Great Houses of BT were in ASOIAF as noble houses, which kingdom do you think each would fit in with?

I’m think Davion in the stormlands due to their militarism, Steiner in the Reach kind of because of their high standard of living relative to the others but also because they seem more pragmatic than others, maybe Marik in the Vale since they tend to mind their own business and be forgotten.

Which kingdoms do you think match which BT houses?

Steiner would be the Stormlands, I have no reason other than it makes sense to me.

GURPS with After the End I guess but I confess to never having read AtE.

Given the heavy focus on resource scarcity, brutal high cost combat, and an emphasis on creating warbands, you may have a hard time finding an existing ttrpg to fit kenshi. For a similar setting I wound up just making my own system.

Basically just start with what's important to the vibe you're going for and work out from there.

Abhumans are starting to become pretty popular thanks to Mossa and, to a lesser extent, All Tomorrows so mutant spam is going to become pretty prevalent. Which is fitting as they're one of the most interesting parts of 40k that the authors never do anything with.
>>

Kek
>>
>>97253086
I'm more interested in the abhuman part of it. See retards like >>97252723 believe everything outside of the product placement threads are off topic and need to be banned. But abhumans are:
-1.) Apart of 40k canon from the very first edition.
-2.) Are on topic both from a world building perspective and a gaming perspective as Kill Team now gives you a beastman squad.
So if mutants and post-human subspecies like the freakshow from All Tomorrows and the Morlocks from the Time Machine become popular, they are not only on topic but an interesting plotpoint. The generals are just going to get spammed by Ratling porn.
>>

You should ALWAYS cheese every encounter. If you EVER end up in a situation that even remotely resembles a fair fight, just run away and wait until you can rig the situation to your favor.

Use your fucking brain. Even if it is highly improbable for you to lose a given fight, statistically speaking, you'll still eventually croak if you keep taking those bets. Don't leave it up to chance. It's easier than you might think, you just need to use your noggin. It's not a video game. You can do whatever the fuck you want.

Just the other night my party ran into a melee monster in a narrow ass room that they for some reason decided to ram their dicks into until someone died. When I suggested that we retreat for a bit and lure it into the room with the big ass statues so we can all just climb them and shoot it to death, they looked at me like I just escaped from the looney bin. They all died of course.

None. I don't care about retarded primarch or legion slop but letting then touch things I actually like like mechanicum would be even worse, because they'd ruin the mystery and techno-occultism for character drama, or worse, romance.

Then what are you doing in a Heresy thread?

BL never wrote a decent reason for AL to sabotage both sides, for starters.

I'd like more Geno Five-Two Chiliad. A mortal army with gravity pikes, grav speeders, centipede crawlers, psychic lieutenants, space indian commanders with six mechanical arms...that book barely fits the 30k setting and it's so out of the way that the Old One Hundred might be better represented by Militia rules than by Solar Aux (or the non-existent Imperial Army codex).
In fact the other regiments are very different and interesting too. The "Razorbacks" or whatever are covered in spikes like that picture of Ancient Bearhunting armour, and Outremar is there to highlight how weird the other guys are.

Idk if the Lucifer Blacks show up in any other book with as much prominence as they do here, but I'd like to read more about them. They impression I got of them was Helldivers with charnabal sabres.

How do you think plastic injection works?
Do you think TOW is supported by a discovery of ancient WHFB stock in a secret forgotten room of the Nottingham warehouse?
>GW place the mould in a machine
>Plastic is injected into the mould, rapidly cooled, and then a sprue is ejected
>GW collect the thousands of sprues produced each day and process them in warehousing logistics
>GW swap out the mould for another due to limited plastic injection machine capacity
The mould is place in storage. It does not degrade. They have several of each, they have the files to commission more, and each will produce millions and millions before it degrades in quality.

The idea was for mollog to be the general, the dankhold to be like a raidboss monster, and then 2 units of squig herd to act as a nuisance. Chorfs, seraphon, and sylvaneth all have made big monsters works in spearhead. Discountwise the box would be good but nothing they haven't done before (assuming mollog would be a standard underworlds price), at 37% off. Pointswise it's actually a bit on the weak side if anything, assuming mollog is costed the same as a dankhold (which is very generous) it ends up at 560. Current gitz box is 610 for example.
At the end of the day this is just a bit of fun brainstorming, I don't think it's likely for them to give mollog points any time soon, but now I'm thinking this could be a fun homebrew.

I understand that. In spite of this getting repeated time and time again, the fact remains that they discontinued older things once they do not have a large backlog to sell off. They do not start producing old molds, not because they cannot in most cases, but because there is additional overhead to having additional product lines that don't sell well. Do you understand that?

So they stopped selling Mollog, and do not currently have interest in holding warehouse or production capacity for this unit. Whether or not molds deteriorate is irrelevant, what matters is the relative opportunity cost in producing a new product when their goal is to rid themselves of that product line entirely. By your own logic they'd be happily producing their massive Warcry selection, but instead they rotate products because maintaining a stock of a massive range is more expensive for GW, which is clearly reflected when warbands only a few years old get squatted.
