If magic is overly effective, deadly, and can ritualistically assassinate or control people anonymously from afar, then duels between wizards would be closer to rocket tag, hunkering down in bunkers, manipulation of proxies and influencing politics (perhaps even geopolitics), making direct confrontation between wizards unwise, or just horrific to behold (sorcery can be quite scary and ruinous), unless a wizard knows for certain that they'll triumph without any consequences.
>>96996644>It’s already incredibly unbelievable that these super special people (wizards) can remember so many damn funny sounding words, or remember what they even do!A regular (non-retarded) 6-year-old would have no trouble memorizing that stuff.

Hey, fa/tg/uysWhat is some inane woke stuff, you can use in your campaigns? Lately, I have come upon a gem that is Witcher 4 and amazing "Rats". They are a group of thieves that "steal from the rich and give to the poor". I intend to use that in my campaign. A group of NPCs is doing exactly that:- local baker gets robbed twice, gets out of bussiness- local moneylender too - all loans to nearby farms stop- local barrons coffer of wealth has been stolen: he is now unable to pay the guards, who are abandoning their posts and turning mercenaries and even bandits. Crime risesPCs will get a chance to find these NPCs, who are deeply convinced, they are "bringing down the system". So: What other similar bs can be applied to campaigns under "actions have consequences" chapter?
>>97087909Correct.
>>97076849Have EVERY monster use the Combat Wheelchair.because of how anyone can have one and it gives amazing advantages, like being able roll around over every terrain and obstacle while keeping hands free, is indestructable and impossible to dispel. Imagine it, hordes of mad max orcs sweeping across the plains, armies of mermen driving up out of the surf to attack coastal towns, huge giants using them to crush castles beneath their wheels....

Corrupt with evil sorcery big time as well. Big C. himself says the cimmerians fight between themselves any time and are pretty dumb for this. Also there are examples of enligthened and smart civilized rulers, at least Yasmina seem to be on the way to be a decent one.I'll add as well that unironically my fav female character in the stories is the unnamed old woman in Beyond the Black River. It's kind of a wild west of platforms, but it's so diamond in the rough. Literally, it's probably a case study for why SEO is important. The last recommendation I had for something host there was like "Bad Sex" from a friend, and I'm like > A) "what" > B) "what"> "in the butt" replyand that's my fault, but I couldn't justify grabbing it, because that's a lunch and there's no reviews or preview about what's inside on the site itself. DTRPG has those features on the store front and it makes a huge difference.
speaking of stuff found on itch.io... I found this game called "Perfect Draw"... ...by the fact it mentions Playbooks means it's a PbtA/FitD/Forge group based system... mind if anyone could give a bit of a looksie to confirm these suspicions?
>>97097613 (Cont.)NVM, can confirm, it IS PbtA... ...Card Ranker can't come soon enough...

Lets have a thread on big weapons. Any systems where this is possible? Do you prefer a "realistic" approach or do you prefer anime shenanigans? Are PCs even allowed to use large weapons on foot, for that matter?
>>97096682Fixed.
Why would anyone use ludicrously sized swords if not going for an anime/jrpg feel? I mean, I can't think of any in western fantasy. The most is perhaps Warcraft's war hammers, but I bet it's more of a case of not doing math than wanting REALLY big weapons.
>>97097497because it's cool you lame faggot
>>97097497>>97097219Western Europeans thought huge swords were cool enough to spend shitloads of money having them built.
>>97097497It's a practical weapon for anyone who's abnormally strong, and anime/jrpg heroes often have higher stats than western fantasy heroes.

>>97096734I just don't think it's as fun with the current rhythm of the game and trying to beef them up further would likely erode that more (I'd probably play it nonetheless). The retrains would be kind of broken if transported back in time, but they still all feel too little too late. Magician of Black Magic is one of my favorite DM designs though, I'll give them that. It's all still neat.

I have encountered GMs who relied on copying and pasting AI-generated text before: https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/96077242/#96077242I have been seeing this more and more. For example, I joined this one Daggerheart game. The GM has been flip-flopping between simplistic sentences and LLM-generated text.Examples:>This game takes place in the world of Dispatch—a living, breathing city where danger erupts without warning and heroes are the thin line holding everything together. I’ll be your DM, but in this world, you’ll know me as your Dispatcher. I’m the voice in your ear, the one who tracks the chaos, the one who sends you and other heroes into the field when Manhattan needs you most.>Your missions will range from capturing dangerous villains to rescuing civilians, stopping escalating threats, uncovering hidden plots, or confronting unknown anomalies. Dispatch calls don’t wait. They hit fast, loud, and unpredictable. When that call goes out, you suit up, step forward, and answer it.>Using Daggerheart’s Duality system—Hope and Fear—we’re shaping a flexible, evolving ruleset that grows with both the world and your characters. Every mission will test your skills. Every choice will shape the city around you. And as the story unfolds, we’ll refine and expand the system together, adapting it to the heroes you become.>This is a world where your decisions matter, where Hope fuels your rise, where Fear pushes back, and where every Dispatch shapes the next chapter. You’re not just playing a character. You’re becoming a symbol. And this:>► Duality Blessings (Doubles)Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>97097427Yeah sadly that's a big tellUnfortunately Edna this is gonna become more common, as lazy SoBs want to try their hand at GMing but don't want to actually put in the work to learn his to communicate in an engaging way. Online play just got DIT'd.
Did you raise the issue in the group before starting online slander?
>>97097344Yeah that's AI generated. ChatGPT to be specific.
>>97097597Yes, the GM said:>No I only used the AI to help me correct any misspelling and condescending what I’m saying. This seems to be much more than correction of misspellings, though.
