What exactly is Nale expecting to get out of this? Why the fuck would you blow the best tactical advantage you could EVER have (enemy not knowing you're coming) to try and team up with a team that he's stabbed both in the back and in the face?

Because The Order isn't an enemy unless Nale makes them an enemy. His goal doesn't involve The Order. 1316 goes over the general change in his mindset.

Nale's goal is to break the last gate. The Order is the group that's going to be within spitting distance of it, and working with them openly is the best cover possible. Fighting them just wastes time and resources, and hiding from them would likely fail. Nale also has no intel on the gate's location beyond it being somewhere in the wall of doors. The Order is his best shot at information. On top of that, unlike with Xykon there's no impetus for The Order to specifically protect the gate from Nale, so even if he has to retreat they're not going to act any differently.

Cause whether he realizes it or not, Nale's still living by the same tired old tropes of the evil twin/rival dichotomy, just that this time it's the old "rivals team up temporarily against a far greater threat". And it makes sense to a degree, Xykon alone is basically way too much for Nale's team by themselves nevermind Redcloak and Oona, and considering he has no personal beef with Elan anymore due to how he can't blame his twin for his current deal it makes sense to work with someone who grasps that Xykon is the bigger threat in the here and now to their respective goals.
>>
>>97237486
>working with them openly is the best cover possible. Fighting them just wastes time and resources, and hiding from them would likely fail.
except they call his bullshit immediately
successfully lying to them is even more likely to fail than hiding
it is possible he will still manage to convince them, but it will be against some really long odds

the obvious choice is to wait for Roy and Xykon to fight and then act amidst the chaos
maybe Nale feels it will take too long for them to clash, and his tacky makeover is time-limited
>>
>>97237435
>>97237486
So it's a durkon situation. Will durkon intervene on Nale's behalf on the next page?

>A sprawling metropolis surrounded by a network of trenches visible from orbit dug by the kriegers and valhallans.
>We've also made more or less peace with the orks we were originally sent here to fight, and even made alliances with the ruinous powers, but those truces only last for one day a year.
>A day that is fast approaching.
>Candlemass brings peace, but also war to Nordica II every year without fail.
>This year however the orks have decided to convert the former colloseum constructed by khorne worshipers in the ruins of a space hulk that crashed here into an arena for a sport they're apparently calling "Blood Bowl."
>I will be attending the first of these games on Candlemass day, which is set to pit greenskins against some surviving khorne worshipers they've captured.

>Be the Hot Krampus, Lesser Daemon of Slaanesh, Disguised as the Krieger Colonel
>I check my watch, it is only eight minutes until midnight
>At which point Slaaneshmas Eve turns into Slaaneshmas Day, and from midnight to 6 am, our Krieger and Drukhari catspaws will slaughter thousands with tainted weapons that will send their souls straight to the Halls of Eternal Punishment
>Six hours of glorious slaughter!
>Many of those who will be targeted are among the most genuinely wicked souls on the planet, the murderers, rapists, the orchestrators of genocides, the owners of industries that grind their employees to a premature grave. Many of them work for us or were supported by us whether they realize it or not, for the more sins they commit in this life, the more energy they produce in the afterlife.
>Other individuals are relatively pure, but removing them will allow us to spread wickedness even further throughout next year and produce an even bigger harvest for next year’s Krampusmas.
>And plenty of others will be more or less randomly slain by the Drukhari, though there are few among the Imperials on this planet who are not drenched in the common sins of avarice, lust, wrath, or indolence
>One of my aides arrives and tells me the Felinid Commissar is here to see me
>The one who “can’t figure out” the paperwork to order pants for her regiment after almost every female member of her regiment ditched their pants about a year ago
>Ah, I guess she found out about the murder of a few of her women
>Ironically those weren’t even deaths that I arranged, but I suppose it should be expected that once someone starts ordering secret murders, a few of ones subordinates start taking some initiatives of their own
>Two gift wrapped dildo swords appear in my office, courtesy of the Slaaneshmas Fairy
>I hide them under my desk so I don’t have to explain them to the Felinid Commissar when she arrives, but I may get a chance to use them later

>The Felinid Commissar is already on the hit list for excessive lust, and conversely because she is one of the least lustful members of her regiment and her removal opens the way for the regiment’s junior commissar to take her role, and dear Junior Commissar Tammy already works for our nominal allies the Schlick. With Tammy in charge of discipline, at least half of the felinids will fall to Slaanesh by next Candlemas, up from about 10% who have already secretly fallen
>There is nothing really stopping me from killing Kate at any time, but I kind of want her death to fall within the six hour time period for symbolic reasons
>I guess I will just have to stall her with conversation for eight minutes, actually seven minutes now, my mind was wandering for a while there
>I wonder what fate will befall her in the Halls of Eternal Punishment?
>There is lots of different punishments for lust since it is the most common sin. She strikes me as the voyeur sort though, given her inability to acquire pants
>In the Halls, voyeurs usually have their naughty bits lashed to shreds, and then locked in small cages in front of screens showing the most sexual of images. Eyes stitched open, and metal bands hold their skulls in place so they can’t look away. Touching themselves causes extreme pain, and yet, most can’t go more than a few minutes without trying, given the nature of the images shown.
>I grin wickedly just thinking about it
>Good thing Kriegers never take their masks off, since I will have a hard time keeping a straight face over the next...six minutes now

I’m running a low fantasy game, and social advancement is gonna be a thing. So the PCs are gonna be rubbing elbows with a lot of noble families as they make their way into high society. I’m just asking for NPCs and ideas.
Most of the nobility are humans, but a few are half-elves and halflings.

Read Pendragon 5e for ideas, as it's one of the best genuinely medieval systems out there and it focuses solely on playing as nobility.

Any families/NPCs y’all can come up with?

Area: The Eastmarch (that is, the border region in the east)
Family: House of Athal
Seat of power: New Athaka (minor town, 3 associated fortified positions).
Head of the house: margrave Boskas Athal
Origin: the eastmarch was conquered from the [insert enemy here] by the previous generation. The land was mostly settled by soldiers from that war. The margrave Boskas of Athal is a distinguished veteran of that war, known for having led a band of 250 men to keep the enemy from breaking through at [not Thermopylae] and thus granting time for the main army to circle the mountain and destroy the enemy forces.
Those who volunteered that day and live are the minor knights (about 70) who settled the region as pioneers. For his service, margrave Athal was pledged ownership of the lands around the mountains. He now holds those lands against raiders and incursions by the previous owners.
Economy: sheep, logging and limited mining. The mountains contain some iron, and the rivers that flow down the mountains allow for logging works and wool production alike to use river transport towards the nearby free city of [Whatever].
Military situation: the region is filled with veterans and their offspring. Few question the authority of the margrave. He has taken two fortresses, and built another at the site of [not Thermopylae] to round out the defense. While the fortresses and their garrisons are costly, the economy is somewhat bolstered by the newly forming cultivation of the land and trade with the nearby free city.
Politics: the free city is split between excitement over the economic opportunities, and the fear of such a powerful military force on their doorstep.
The original inhabitants are mostly glad to be freed of the previous owners, but have many gripes about ownership and rights as they used to be free tribes before the enemy rolled in.
The margrave lacks funding, and hopes to secure it with either the crown or the free city.

You can have one extra peasant-y peasant who demonstrates why the nobility really do look down on people who haven't been trained in the proper ways to talk and behave.

And an impoverished noble who had to let all his house staff go and is pretending he didn't.

And give them manners and airs so even if a noble became as poor as a peasant and had to sell his last estate, they'd still feel superior to people born and raised peasants.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?

Trying to fix the arcane Archer. This may be too much though. Thoughts Anons?3rd - you gain proficiency with light armor and longbows.
3rd - fighting style of your choice
3rd - weapon mastery with Longbow and shortbow
6th - enchant arrow +1
6th - extra attack, cast cantrip as 1 attack
10th - enchant arrow +2
10th - imbue arrow, magic action. Cast a spell with a slot and attack with a bow. The spells effect is centered on the arrow. 1 per intelligence modifier per long rest.
14th - enchant arrow +3
14th - Swift quiver always prepared. Cast once per long rest without a slot.

When not otherwise stated, soil / rock is typically chocolate. Snow is white sugar.

Forest : Candy canes grow to the size of redwood trees, and their seeds are peppermint candies. Moss is cotton candy. Birds are peeps. Toblerodents scurry underfoot. You may encounter White Chocolate Wendigos. Coldstone is located here.

Mallowmarsh : A great morass of marshmallow substance, it collects into big piles that bunch up against the shores. Here you can find the chocodile and the vanilligator. The mangrove trees have waffle bark and maple syrup sap.

Cinnamon desert : The cacti are made of jello. Keep an eye on the sky, don't let the Ferrero Roc snatch you up. Watch your step too, those twizzler rattlesnakes don't take kindly to being stepped on. You may encounter giant peanut-brittle-shelled scorpions.

Brown sugar beach : Here you might find coconut-cream crabs and tortoises that have hollowed-out jawbreakers for shells. The fish are swedish fish.

The creamy north : Terrible and majestic, but not barren. Many creatures call this region home, including the popsicle penguins and cola bears. Most marine animals like seals, dolphins and sharks are gummies, similar to the aforementioned swedish fish. Massive icecreambergs float on the milk sea.

Happy Holidays and Christmas, whatever the fuck.

>>97234394
Nope, everything is still in its packaging, no second-hand here. Though it wouldn't hurt to check.
>>
>>97233399
Yes, it should be fairly solid. There hasn't been anything really revolutionary or major since around that generation. The big ones were collimating the light and introducing the mono LCDs. A few people were already hacking for collimation with the classic Photons and the generation after it, they introduced the mono LCDs. The collimation gave you more focused light and cleaner images while the mono LCDs lasted longer and filtered the UV less, leading to shorter exposure times. Yes, the Mars 2 can do light on delay. What it can't do is change speed for lifting and return, which isn't really a huge deal.

Do some calibration prints to dial in your settings and make sure everything's running fine. The Mars 2 should be able to get you around 2.5 seconds per layer of exposure and I suggest starting there for calibration prints. Dial up and down as needed.

Some things to keep in mind: The resins tend to like to cure around 20-30ish C/ 65-85 F temperatures. If you're operating in a colder environment, you might experience more failures and weird stuff going on with your printing results. I like to prewarm my resin bottles in warm water while I heat up the printing environment in a small tent with a fume extractor set up.
If you want a tent and can't/don't want to afford one, you can always try to secure a large cardboard box. For heating, better get something with a temperature sensor if you're going with a space heater. If you want to heat the resin vat directly, look into a silicon fermenting belt and wrap the vat with that. Some people don't seem to care about ventilation but I would recommend it. Some people also don't seem to care about skin contact. Again, I would highly recommend using gloves and eye protection. Go for nitrile gloves, do not use latex.

Shake your resin before use!

Calibration: There are a lot of options out there these days, each with their own way of reading. These are different from the torture test models.

I don't know, I'm fairly new to FDM as well and I have these stone building models with detailed floors that just fucks up on FDM. Shit like flagstones and rubble.
>>
I live in a small apartment and have 2 cats, I think that resin printing may be out of the question for me. I want to 3D print both terrain and minis. I was thinking of getting an FDM printer for terrain (Bambu Lab P1P FDM), but could I use it to print simple minis as well? I just want something for a Frostgrave warband, nothing too complicated. Will the quality be noticeably dogshit, or is it good enough for most hobbyists? If it's dire, I figure I can just rent services for a resin printer.

What's a fast, easy rule for passive attraction in D20 games like D&D? (I'm specifically running 3.5.)
I was thinking D20+charisma:
>5 or under they think you're absolutely ugly
>9 or below they think you're ugly or just not their type. With some effort or favors you could maybe change their mind
>10 They think you look average. Maybe if they were drunk, desperate, or in a particular mood... MAYBE
>15 They think you're attractive. With a small amount of shmoozing you could get them to follow you to your room
>18 They are waiting for you to make your move or may even make their move first!
>20 They want to jump your bones and are at least slightly enamored by your presence
>25+ They start acting like a looney tunes character whose eyes are popping out of their head whenever you're around.

I'd like something slightly more involved than this, but I also don't want to spend a couple minutes every time a new NPC shows up to see whether they find me initially attractive.
>>
>>97237744
>I want to do X every time I met an npc but I don't want to do X every time i met an npc

I want a quick way to determine whether NPCs find my character attractive, but I don't want it to be some complicated, fiddly mechanic. I've looked up how it's handled in three different lewd mechanic books for the D20 system, and it's always like, "Roll your character's Sexual Prowess modifier, which is Charisma+Constitution divided by 2, then add any feats, and, etc, etc, etc..."

The Scarlet Heroes + Randy Encounters thing does a good job, but it still requires you to generate kinks and traits for every character.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: How often do you use an official GURPS setting? Which are your favorites?

Crowbar falls on his head. Assuming a 2 lbs. pry-bar (5 HP), it seems to fall from maybe 5-6’, so 5-6 yps, doing a measly 1d-3 or 1d-2. With skull DR, this is weirdly survivable in GURPS, doing at most 8 HP and more likely 0.
Iron drops on his head. This should have similar HP to the crowbar, but seems to fall further, maybe 10’. Still only 1d-2, but this time to the face, inflicting 0-4 HP. Seems to also do 1 point burning follow-up. Again, this would be potentially fatal in real life, but is easily survivable even by a ‘realistic’ normal human in GURPS.
Steps on a nail after losing his footwear. Treating this as a caltrop, thrust-2 impaling based on his ST (so maybe 1d-3), maximum 2 injury. Probably another 1 HP lost.
Falls from maybe 6-8 stairs up (4-5’) taking another 1d or so crushing, seems to be to the torso.
Steps on broken glass with bare feet. This is basically just a cutting caltrop with another -1 damage. Seems fairly superficial, so maybe another 1 HP. Around this point, a ‘realistic’ human would be below 0 HP.
Slip and fall from standing to the ground. Treating it as a fall from half his height, that’s about 5 yps, doing 1d (potentially up to 2d with lots of HP).
Paint can to the face for 1d-1. The impact knocks him over, so he has another fall for 1d or so, then Marv falls on top of him for another 1d-2. At this point a normal person would start making death checks.
Pendulum swing from around 10’, maybe 9 yps, another 1d.
Fall from a couple of yards, another 1d-1.
The ‘shovel killer’ hits him on the back of the skull with a snow-shovel for 0-20 HP. This could mean a couple more death checks, but if so, he makes them.

So long as they have decent HT, the level of injury they sustain is survivable by 'normal' humans with no special traits. Remaining conscious and active throughout the experience is going to be much more difficult, suggesting that both the burglars have high levels of Hard to Subdue. Harry may need a total HT + HTS of 18 or better to keep going after the paint can. Marv could probably manage with 1 level less.

If we're doing Christmas movies, is there a good way to handle characters who can spawn more of their kind really quickly, like the Mogwai/Gremlins?
How about characters which permanently shift to another template, potentially one with a different point total?

How about John McClane? IIRC he only gets shot once (in Die Hard, at least), with his own handgun (a Beretta 92, presumably loaded with standard power 9mm FMJ or JHP, more likely the former given the era). It's a Hollywood 'only got hit in the shoulder, no problem' flesh-wound, so probably using cinematic combat rules to just get rid of damage, but what if you had to get similar levels of toughness without cinematic rules? He takes dozens of blunt impacts, but only a couple of them seem like absolutely brutal ones (Karl kicking him through a thick piece of wood, swinging into the side of the building). Explosions are cinematic fireballs, but mostly seem far enough away that I wouldn't expect fatal injuries from the blasts. Even shooting the movie gave Bruce Willis permanent hearing damage, so I expect that the 'real' McClane would need some seriously tough eardrums to hear anything at all by the end of the film.

>a caltrop, thrust-2 impaling based on his ST
That seems like a weird way for caltrops to work. It's not like super strong guys press down into the Earth with more force than a guy of similar mass walking similar gaits

Which do you prefer? Or is there one that fits a particular type of dragon more than the others?

Fully-grown dragons should be treated like natural disasters. Towns and cities around areas that dragons have claimed as their territory should be ruins that were evacuated long ago out of fear, if not already burnt to a crisp. Killing one should be unthinkable - not because of morality, but because it simply can't be done. How does one kill a hurricane? A tornado? A tsunami? You can't do anything except wait for it to go away, or pray it doesn't hit.

I prefer whichever one is a part of a game, and a game whose play has fewer interruptions, and whose interruptions are shorter duration; but ideally, a game whose play has no interruptions at all.
>>
>>97237845
Okay, keep to your video games since we all know you don't play tabletop ones.
>>
>>97237838
You generally build defenses for natural disasters like the japanese.
Im sure the same could be done for a dragon given enough effort, ie if a dragon decided one day to roost right next to a large economically important city like smaug, but i dont think you'd bargain with or anthropomorphise them.

Dwarves and elves are literally synonyms. So in a sense they are.

Men who make/roleplay female characters, why do you?
Why do you think it bothers /tg/ so much?

he's right tho
The decline of births is due to women not being impregnated in favour of women doing whatever they want.
There IS a world in which that's good.
You could live in a world number 1 with declining birthrates, BUT with women like, vastly improving society. Kinda like a humanpunk take: We'll have less births, but we'll catapult humanity with our collective effort.
You don't live in that world.
You live in the world number 2, in which there is declining birthrates, and what women do with their tradeoff lives? Nothing of value. I'm sure it has value to YOU, traveling and whoring and protesting asinine causes, but that's not world number 1
That anon is right, if the women isn't pumping babies, she's of no value. She COULD tho! we COULD live in world number 1! And the women not pump babies but add value! We don't.

it's even funnier and sadder when the same guys who tell everyone online that women are simultaneously both coldly logical gold digger automatons and incompetent hysterical children who can only act on feelings then look around and act all confused that men and women aren't getting together anymore
>>
>>97226437
Don't bother trying to make a character that "realistic." You're playing a fictional fantasy character in a fictional fantasy game. Make it a mix of characteristics from characters you like.
This applies to male characters too btw.
>>
>>97236764
We shouldn't have to """get along""" with them. Women should go back to being submissive sex objects and home keepers and just do what we tell them. Letting them think they have rights or agency was a mistake.

My fantasy campaign just ended with a rally fun fight against 8 dragons. I get to take some time off as the game master, and that's hella cool.
Beyond being a game master, I'm also one of those worldbuilders that the What Game Fag hates so much, and my players have asked me for my next time running that I run in this sci-fi post cyberpunk setting I've been making for my own fun. I never planned on running it, just making it to feed my autism.
I'm happy to do so, but I'm at a loss for the kind of campaign to run.
I want to avoid cyberpunk gang warfare, but that's the only idea I actually have. I got about three months before I have to run, so I want to get ready early.
Please, on this Christmas Eve, tell me what kinds of other campaigns I could be running in what is effectively a Cyberpunk Megacity on a different planet.
If it matters, the ruleset is Savage Worlds.
If it matters, the game I get to play in until late March is Gurps Dungeon Fantasy set in Ultima post U5 but before U6.

>>97236045
>rally fun
Racing or tennis?
>sci-fi post cyberpunk
That's not a great deal to work with. Obvious cyberpunk missions are delivering data, stealing data, destroying data, or stealing and delivering data. Or anything you can do in most settings like kidnap some guy or destroy something. I'm not really sure what you're after.
>>
>>97236045

You could go for being a corpo hit-squad, though that might tend too close to gang warfare. Though it could be fun having to hunt down the main antagonist because they keep brain uploading like a cyber-lich.

>>97236126
>Rally fun
>Racing

An F-Zero kind of campaign could be pretty dope. Focus on the racing, but then there plenty of other stuff to do outside of the main events like secure sponsors, "aquire" parts to soup up the vehicles.

Could play a bunch of AI trying to escape a megacorp server rack.

Could run a campaign where you're playing a bunch of investigators, trying to track down some information, criminal, or secret megacorp project that was stolen/broke out.

Could still have a more traditional violent campaign where you play as assassins, trying to false flag some group for your faction's gain. Less constant warfare; more plan of action, coverup, and escape.
