Yeah well not necessarily true, they did a lot of shitty distribution things with L5R when I was playing it, because basically they have the luxury in the LCG model to get rid of the whole idea of a "set" as in TCGs. There were expansion packs with like 1 useful card buried within a clan's pack nobody would play, so that card alone was already 10-20 bucks and you ended up with stuff you are not interested in. Good luck getting rid of them since nobody was trading/selling singles at all. In the Arkham Horror core set they also had single copy cards before the revised edition arrived. Let's just say that the LCG model sounds too good to be true, so it usually is.

also afaik the black wizard FF land doesn't work here, all you get is a bunch of 0/1 wizards but they don't see you cast a bunch of instant/sorceries since they come from spells cast at the same time. The only thing they could do is be chump blockers on turn 3-4, not sure that's worth a tapland

I think a game with something like that might work as a gimmick, though I definitely wouldn't get a set of multiple different sorts of balls for a gimmick game. For longer-term use, I don't really see your proposed system offering any benefit over just rolling dice. As they say, don't fix it if it isn't broken. Dice rolls as a resolution mechanic isn't really broken, and at any rate there are already games without randomizers and I believe some games using cards instead of dice as a resolution mechanic.

Also you do know that DnD isn't the only game out there using dice, don't you? In addition, there's no "should" for campaign length. Whatever floats a given group's boat is fine. For my group, around 20 session has felt about right.

Skills don't really have levels, they may have upgratded versions like Evade II or similar like in Yaofan's profile, those would probably go up to 10 or so, levels there are more significant.
If you mean Abilities/Professions like fishing or swordamnship then yes, I think that's how we are doing it. They go up to 100, then they upgrade to a higher rank, from copper to bronze to iron and so on, each rank being 100. As for game level cap, we don't really have one.

To interpret this reading, one has to construct a narrative and meaning out of a whole lot of quite vague signs. I did not risk making the cards tell me the narrative; I could do that, but risking it with some sort of giant Tzimisce-thing is just outside my current paygrade.

So, I will offer one possible read, taking in account what the cards say:

The beast, perhaps, is an outgrowth of THE Tzimisce, or a Methuselah which is that big and dreamful because it needed to become that. Seemingly for its loved ones. It knowingly undertook this transformation, perhaps abandonging their unlife to protect those who made said unlife worth unliving. Maybe it's a truly ancient member of the Sabbat, or its prototypes from prehistory, with their enemy just as powerful.

But now it knows nothing and does nothing. It only will act if it is given purpose. It has none; it, perhaps, outright is simply a hollow thing, lacking in personality because growth to that scale, to that complexity rendered the person a speck in their own electrochemistry.

Its allies, kin, friends are dreaming too; maybe they're in the soil, around the lake, maybe they're the dreaming Antedeluvians and other derelicts in torpor.
