A tigered tank with leather seats is studded leather armour.

Did you miss the part where it's a fantasy world with it's own fantasy language called COMMON which is not guaranteed to be English/French? They may not actually say "brigandine" or "studded leather" in universe, that's just what is translated to you as a player so stfu and suck it moron.

Hell, even if. Is it historically justified to call it brigandine in the setting given that it's more associated with adventurers than brigands.
>>
>>97265287
"Studded leather" is not synonymous with "brigandine". Brigandine has plates not studs. Adding studs to leather does fuck all to increase defense. There is not and has never been any such thing as "studded leather armor".
>>
Wait till you realize how prevalent misnomers are in the real world.

Do you know that the "MOSFET"s in the CPU running your shitposting machines are most likely SSFETs? Do you realize that calling plated leather armor, brigandine in universe would similarly be a misnomer because it's more commonly associated with adventurers than brigands?

Do you realize how worthless your shit fucking thread is?

I've been working on a game for about five years and wanted to share it, but I can't seem to upload pdfs anymore. Why is this? I thought /tg/ was the hub for sharing rules systems. A lot of the stuff I played while designing was downloaded from the sharethread, are they also suffering from this?

>>
>>97265261
TT is pretty consistently shown to be a really smart company despite the nonsense 'stigma' shit from yesterday. Just look at how well executed licensing beyblade is for other regions. They probably realize that trying to find a way to make the tcgs work internationally just isn't worth the squeeze anymore. There just isn't a market for that level of anime unless its heavily IP based. Plus 'rollslop' is so hot right now with fab and sorcery and other le edge medieval fantasy crap, I wouldn't see why they would bother when they're such a massive company that doesnt need to burn money
>>

Delusional. That was a whole ass thread ago, not even close to yesterday. No one's harping on that anymore, but you are inclined to bring it up.

Sorcery is fantasy, in particular one that existed long before your Dad shagged your Mom and made you. 'Roll slop' is a 'your generation thing.'

If you say so pay pig

Why were so many of the "OG" game designers insufferable faggots? It seems like the vast majority of game designers from the 70s and 80s were self-obsessed dickheads who openly hated and looked down on their customer base. There were obviously exceptions, and some like Gygax would go on to regret and apologize for it, but still, what made so many "professionals" back then such fags?

Good job conceding, retard.
>>
>>97265282
Considering you have no actual counter, good job conceding indeed, fuckboi. John Wick's stories of dickery aren't unique at all, the only differences are that he's an rpg designer who was narcissistic enough to publish a book about his dickery, and that he likely thought himself more clever than he was in reality.

Cute, but frankly John Wick's not nearly the clever boi he paints himself as, nor is he anything special in terms of bad game masters. It's just particularly egregious since he printed a book trying to trick people into emulating his style of hostile railroading.

I'm NOT a shitty DM: Roleplaying should absolutely affect the DC of a check.

>If I decide to open my mouth and spill my spaghetti that makes the check harder.

>If I come up with a great excuse that's fun or convincing, that should make the check easier.

>If the PC just walks up and says "I want my character to bluff the guard into killing himself." I'll him roll for it but the DC is 70 and a nat 20 is just keeping the guard from trying to detain him and call for back up and instead telling him to bugger off.

Being a good DM is playing these things by ear. The player should have accepted the DM saying its impossible because
1. he tried to convince the guard with bad roleplay first not RPG stats and any rolls he makes is to deescelate at that point
2. the DM is the final arbiter of the game and its not really a big deal (hints the player is autistic who has a meltie about something that's a big deal)
3. The DM could have been more diplomatic to get the game moving again, allowing him to roll, but setting the DC so high he will always fail and moving on instead of wasting everyone's time.

Unfortunately if you play with mentally ill or childish people it helps to be the adult in the room.
>>
>>97264603
All this post-thinking is ok
Now, they were under specific orders from grimma to actually take the staff.
So, ON TOP of the orders to seize all weapons before the king, they had an ADDITIONAL order to specifically take the wizard staff.
This setting is DOUBLE the thing you posed as absurdity, and a bluff was still called, won, and "the story changed"
If it works for Tolkien, why is your super-duper-special setting entitled to "not work or else I have to change my premade brain!"
>>
>>97265221
Oh hey! You rolled a 17
Seems like you stuck in the loop.
Refer to
>>97264253
>>97264264
>>
>>97265281
I will admit that a few times I've encountered people who tried to bluff guards with the laziest possible excuses and no attempts to disguise themselves as possible. Those times, I will outright just stop the game to explain to them in detail how and where they fucked up before giving them a chance to have a do-over.

And that's mainly because I've learned there's a difference between stupid people and belligerently stupid people. Normal stupid people just don't have the capacity to understand how other people think on their own, so having the flaws of their retarded plan pointed out to their faces isn't a big deal since they'll be happy to fix it. Belligerently stupid people on the other hand just presume everyone is stupider than they are, so if they try to stand their ground on why their plan should work regardless of the DM outright warning them, then I take it as them basically signing their right to complain away.

Uliace gasps at Andris' words and goes slightly pale. She beckons her to join as she leaves the building however before speaking, her voice trembling slightly.
>C-come along. They're almost finished.
She walks in silence, obviously hurt by the words until finally defending herself in her quick squeaky way of speaking of when she gets flustered.
>I've just... I love the flowers, trees, grass, even vegetables and pollen! Knowing why they are the way they are. And then you got that gift and I knew needed more.
She points at the flower on Andris' head. When she continues her new heritage and confidence can be heard in her voice again.
>Now I know so much. I can feel the trees speaking and hear the sighs of flowers waking. How death isn't something feared nor unnatural. I'm free. Autumn has freed me. I am part of the forest now.

Lancel doesn't hesitate for a second, charging into battle with brilliant ferocity. He slays half a dozen men before he begins to take injuries, and while he does kill a few more he is soon over powered and left slumped over holding himself up only on his sword.

The pair turn a full circle around a tree and the rear of the southerners come into view and Uliace smiles cruelly at the sounds of fighting.
>Lancel will soon be defeated, but he's not dead yet. Do we wait?
Andris wonders how she knew the knights name, but pauses as she thinks of a response.

Kill him, save him, let Howler do something to him, your choice.

A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.

it wasn't just the 1.5 kits. there were a ton of 2e kits that had some combination of insane assembly, unbelievably fragile models, weird scaling (like justice and the viks being fucked up), or just way way more pieces cut than there needed to be. there were only a handful of cases where they weren't a strict downgrade from the metals, and that mostly in the bigger monsters.

I'll grant that they've gotten better with time, but they don't get a pass for all that. It's not like they ever reimbursed anybody for all that trash.
>>
>>97264562
It's probably a question of different expectation then, the M2e minis actually convinced me to buy plastic and I actually found Wyrd's large models/monsters to be the worst of their plastics.

I got an FDM printer lately and now I'm livid because I realised how fucking awful Pajeet47's prints are. Even with a 0.4 nozzle you can print smooth surfaces with great detail as long as you go with the lowest layers possible. Scenery, tanks, scatter terrain - none of those have to look like carved wood if you are willing to use just a little bit more of material and wait for a bit longer as well. I won't even mention how much the quality improves with a 0.2 nozzle.
>>
>>97264623
I doubt jeet47fag's prints look THAT terrible in person, it's partially because the camera is picking up the layer lines far more than what you'd with naked eyes.

Because that's what we're being given and creating at this point. An amalgamation of things put together with various other things to make what resembles something cohesive but has little care put into it and is basically haphazard.
In terms of decks we used to call them "piles" IE spellcaster pile. Language evolves and a term to describe such conditions now exists so the term is used for it IE spellcaster slop.
The term can also refer to the input/new cards because they are equally haphazardly designed with a lack of consideration of how they'll interact with the rest of the game with a lack of restriction such as an archetype, type, or attribute lock.
Sure it can be cool but at some point it homogenizes things.

Ironically the term slop is also technically subject to being slop. Because there's no real limit to it's application it can be used wherever and on whatever. Homogenizing language and replacing many exclusive adjectives.

On the spectrum of rubber forehead aliens to complete starfish aliens that are made out of silica and breathe methane, where are YOU specificially comfortable with. Does there come a point where an alien becomes too weird for you to "relate" to in order to include them in your games as playable races?

Personally I am fond of aliens that look plausibly like they could have evolved in a different world and have no distinguishable lineage to earth life, even if they share some superficial features.

star wars aliens are around the sweet spot for me. my limit is somewhere between the original trilogy and prequel trilogy. a player can be a guy with a weird lizard head like greedo, or a big hammerhead. they can have a set of arms or extra legs, maybe tentacles instead of arms, but they should be mostly humanoid. a theoretical actor should be able to fit within a costume of the alien. i wouldn't want a player to play a wacky prequel trilogy alien like sebulba or that cunt with the long neck

The only 3 I have in mind myself are the Abolitionists, the Lost Men and La Ombre, the last 2 exists but have not been polished enough in my opinion to warrant uploading.to the TTS mod (soon, I put some time on La Ombre as well in the last 2 weeks). The unifying thread to those 3 is that they are small groups with increasingly higer concept goals, from the mundane to the metaphysical, and having made pacts with fell powers in order to do so. Way I see it, Napoleon is the least relatable anti-hero imaginable. Every encounter with him needs to be made into some sort of Hoffmanesque scene. Malcolm is a lot more relatable, but he is still fighting a nationalistic revolution that we can't really see him achieving anyways. Abolitionists would be a more relatable way to showcase a deal with the devil made on good intentions. Anyways, that was the general idea behind the three being "put together"...

Since we're on the topic, I had some ideas rattling around to dump out. I never managed to piece them together into something I liked though:
>Tubman was living in New York (State not city) at the time of the raid
>New Mu takes slaves as seen with the Morlocks, probably human ones too, maybe several Americans
>Tubman had served as a scout/spy during the Civil War and led troops
>Confederato forces are running around in the 4th layer as part of the golden syndicate too, the same layer New Mu mainly lives on
>Also Atlan exists
Napoleon semi-accidentally on purpose unlocked his powers by shooting himself, Malcolm (was nagged by his GF) sought out the Shadow Palace on the 8th (I think), so my view is that someone/thing went to the surface and offered Tubman her deal. She was retired with a family at the time of the New York raid so unless someone went out of their way to get her going I don't see her moving from civilian life to a millitary one again. I kept working over the idea of her joining the long march on her own to help free captured Americans, but by the 1870s I think it would have been more likely she would have worked to raise money instead unless some mysterious force gave her cool powers to help guide the long march.

>Stage Coach as Renault
Like the War Wagon from that one film or a more classic wooden one? Considering the US' mobility gimmick I vote for the latter.

For lost men, do you want any polishing assistance? I wrote some of the current ones and can try to elaborate on what I was going for in the case of clumsy wording.

I see people are having a hard time having fun with brawl
I would like to share my list https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mtga-bant/
I have carefully tuned this deck to a specific power level where I don't play against shitters at all but it's also not THAT bad of a deck.

Honestly going as high power as you possibly can and playing exclusively in hell queue is the only time I've ever had fun. And even then the format is an absolute shit show where players can just win on turn 1 or 2 without you being able to do anything about it if you didn't mulligan into your perfect answer. The whole format is just inherently flawed because it's a format balanced around multiplayer but only being available as 1v1 on arena.

Actually, making it 1v1 is the balancing factor. Duel Commander is much more competitively viable than cEDH for a variety of reasons including architype viability and actually being able to score an event.
