Welcome to /wbg/, the thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art. Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have, cunt!

What races fit 16th century-inspired world from the standard D&D roster? The more I look, the more it seem like traditional races don't work. The ones that work are humans, half-elves, gnomes (Rock & Forest, perfect for scientist, and inventors), Tieflings & Aasimar (Excellent for the religious conflicts of the era especially if you make both feared), Changelings, and Dragonborn (Byzantines, Janissary, Ming). Everyone else, need works or be removed to remote localizations in the world.
>>
>>97263793
I have only played the first two games and read The Art of Dragon Age books, but Orlais is more Italian to me (from the Renaissance period) or maybe Baroque France, I'm not familiar with that period.

Anyway, in the artbooks Ferelden is also basically dark-age Scandinavia + Britain, (although in the first game it looks more high-medieval).
>>
>>97264051
Dwarves definitely (take a look at the Empire in Warhammer FB, it is one of the best representations of The Holy Roman Empire in the 16 century). I would say wood elves, but only if they stay in their woods (mystic Schwarzwalds).

This is a general for everything 3D printed relating to /tg/ from sci-fi, fantasy, historicals, fantasy football, and more! Share your printed minis, terrain, print fails, 3d modelling, printing advice, works in progress, or anything else /tg/-related to 3D printing.

>DO:
- Post pics of your prints be they fails or triumphs
- Keep discussion/photos about tabletop games only
- Post your resin/printer/settings for faster advice
- Help your fellow anons with advice

>TRY TO:
- Remember that this general is monitored by GWendolin and her lawyers
- Not make a new thread until old one dies
- Not encourage namefags, tripfags, fumefags and coomers
- Not spoonfeed
- Not war over Filament/Resin consoles

Thx for the suggestions Anons
I only used presupported Stationforge minis, didnt do anything to the files. Dropped em in Photon Workshop and sliced. The software had to "repair" most of the files and wanted to support them again. Clicking No worked for minis...
So i think i probalbly need to learn a lot more about how to prepare files for print.
As soon as i was printing vehicles walkers etc the falls happened.
So ist would be smart to hollow out a solid bigger model, add drain holes and then support it myself... Does that soud right?
Also wtf is a raft in the context of resin printing
>>
>>97264000
raft is the small platform the supports are standing on iirc
>>
>>97264000
I would at least layer through a presupported file and do an island check (or use a utility to do it for me). "Presupported" isn't really a guarantee that the creator(s) have actually tested to see if the file prints correctly.
>>
>>97263664
Standalone
>>
>>97263664

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

nothing spectacular and it's pretty bad if compared to proper literature
but it's still above the median quality in /tg/ inspired fantasy overall, I don't think it counts as an accomplishment though
but if anyone can tolerate such schlak at all they will be fine with DS novels as well

Hopefully the proper thread this time

Is there a compendium PDF of AD&D 2e in a singular book? Not needing all the book text, looking for something that is all player options, optional mechanics, equipment, and errata and expanded/fixed rules from all the splat book content but all written in one place. So a PHB that also has proficiency rules, fighting style, etc. I dont want to use 20 books and a wiki to look at all options and mechanical updates.

Trench Raiding With The Lads Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?

If you don't typically interact with modern decks then I'd consider looking for a community that plays TOSS format, or if possible, Branded/DIFO format. Those are ~2019 and ~2021 respectively, where TOSS is dominated by 4 decks while Branded/DIFO has a better spread. Only problem with TOSS is that it falls under Master Rule 4's restrictions, so a lot of communities that run it will also have those restrictions (they are not good and force you to use link monsters if you want to touch your extra deck).

Anyway, Branded/DIFO is a good halfway point since it has some of the old design philosophies in motion while moving towards newer design choices, and TOSS is alright if you want a solved meta to help break the ice for you.

After about 8 years since I last DM'ed a game, I've been asked to run a session.
Unfortunately my books - adnd, 2e, 3e, 3.5, 4e, and 5e are in storage two states away.
And i prefer physical copies. Thanks to critical role and the movie DND books have gone up in price which is weird.
>4e books are ~10-15$ now.

Is it viable to run 4e in 2025? I don't remember hating it and I still remember some home rules to streamline combat to speed it up a touch.

3e was as deadly as you wanted it to be. Plenty of shit could kill you outright, DMs just became pussies about doing so.

Note that this isn't a defense if 3e because it had a frankly retarded amount of problems.
>>
>>97264210
3e had shit that could kill character easily enough.
Older editions had stuff that fucked with the player. Level Drain was what Vampires and such used that actively made PLAYERS dread even attempting to fight something with that ability. You might be doing a one off adventure and now you got months of work to try and recoup.
>>
>>97247917
4E's encounters being hard feels earned and it's a lot easier to dial in on the difficulty that'll push your party to the limit without killing them. 3E encounters being hard feels like I got slapped with bullshit and it's very easy to overshoot and accidentally TPK the party when you try.
