>>97351041Amazons? There is no place for four mammary glands on that picture.
>>97350505I think the question is whether people are talented enough to gen more than a cycle of three or four characters, which many here are. They're what make these threads worth coming to.
>>97351606You're starting from the wrong end. Everyone here gets as best pics as good are their tools. And unfortunately free genning models are not only heavily censored (Bing mostly), but also apparently getting dumber. So you're either get better quality pic focusing on some specific element (like character), or blur of colours which was supposed to be a complex scenery, with the model ignoring at least half of the prompt.
>>97351651Are you being intentionally obtuse? I'm talking about genning a wider diversity of character designs. Character-focused gens are fine and I never said otherwise.
>>97351666>>97351606I do have a wide variety of characters. I just dont advertise who they are. And I also post one-offs that arent OCs or even characters too.

How do you actually design sessions? I've been a Bookcel for so long that I forgot what it means to design a 4+ hour session, especially first sessions of a campaign.
>>97340689They do! They actually do. We’re all grogs at this table, and the youngest of us know what they’re getting into. Pathfinder 2e has shortcomings and they’re aware of them.
>>97339121>Pathfinder 2e, level 1Okay, far from what I tend to run so input is limited on my end sorry. My understanding of it will be entirely based on pf1st ed and that era of 5 room dungeon combat style gameplay. You've got a few tones like >Nostos, Pothos and a fairly cohesive world but need to tie that into the characters and gameplay. You might have to deal with a few contrivances to get the game going like >everyone starts knowing each other from the battle of xyz where magic was of apocalyptic or at least disastrous impact Have a world reference document that's fairly short everyone can read ahead of time, make characters together, run a short rp where they all discuss how they got to know each other as memories and ties from a previous experience. Might be able to do something where they're all travelling in a wagon to encounter 1, everyone gets to describe a feature of the world or a note about features you describe. You're going to want to be contextualizing places and history as you go without making it too much of a lore dump so might be able to off load some of that to the players by having key features and events, then asking them to locate their characters in relation to the events, or their predecessors.
>>97337129Yeah, he's kinda missing the point. I've found the best way to organize sessions is kind of a hybrid of node-based dungeon design and script design for a show. You figure out the start to the episode/session, where the characters are and their environment and (if necessary) what instigating event you need to stage to kick off play. That can be anything as simple as rumors of a dungeon in a D&D game to having a man burst into a bar with a gun. Even wild narrative-focused games still want your episodic hook, so if a PC wakes up on the White House lawn buck naked with a cell phone and a revolver, that's where you're coming from. You then map out a timeline of events and places that come from this starting point. Major beats, landmarks, characters and items are the name of the game here. You can always go back in and fill up detail, but you want to basically sketch out these spaces with room for more. One of these nodes is your climax, where you think players are going to go and where you want to put the most effort, for a lot of games this is going to be the big combat encounter, so you want to have as much to work with there as possible (if you only draw one battlemap, this is the one to draw). Then you go back through, reorganize these nodes and add extras; either as random encounter interruptions or as alternate paths. In play you don't need to use all of these, if the players don't go to the bar you made, you don't have to force them to go, you can use the bar later in another session, or maybe they'll even double back. Ultimately you need to be flexible, and if the PCs don't go to your big planned finale? Play it by ear. If you've played enough games with them you should have a pile of notes you can improvise with. Everything is reusable, and if the players haven't seen it it's new to them, so it doesn't matter if the ship map you made for fighting the undead pirate king in a hidden grotto doesn't get used today, it will be used tomorrow.
>>97336156Detail out important NPCs, looks, personality, one or two underlying goals or secrets that might be interesting to hint at or be potential plot hooks. Ideally these can all interrelate or be at odds with each other. If we're in a dungeon, pre made descriptions for rooms. Statting out and setting up encounters, traps and especially trapped encounters. Try and make things more interesting than D10 goblins in a bare room. Time crunch, or side goals for party or monsters are key.Multiple plot hooks, but not necessarily detailed solutions for them. A few that lead back to the "main" plot that moves the campaign as a whole forward, but lots of random shit the players might find interesting with multiple ways they can be introduced. These can be side plots or tied back in as they unfold and how I feel. Everything from cheating spouses to ancient artifacts and secret entrances to fabulous vaults.Cities/towns get a few paragraphs of detail. What they're known for, what the people are generally like, interesting features. These things are often not just dumped on the party, but kept for me to inform my improv.A stack of premade random NPCs I can pick through if the party asks about anyone I havent' made specifically. Names are important and hitting up FNG for a name mid session is jarring, even if its just a blacksmith or whatever. And thats about it. Takes a few hours from scratch, and is probably more than many can get away with, but having details that may not be relevant to the party but help me get into "character" of the world is really helpful for me personally.
Don't write a plot, write situations. Figure out npc motivations so you can react flexibly to player decisions.Judging from my dungeon crawling sessions, players can probably chew through 10-20 situation prompts in a 2-4 hour sessionSo what you can do is, determine the locale. Write up 10-20 situations. Let the players and situations interact with each other. i.e. if players make a loud noise in room 13, determine how that affects the situation in adjacent rooms. Let enemies act naturally, don't make shit fight to the death for no reason. So if something successfully flees, it alters the situations as it flees or it even uses knowledge of nearby situations as a bargaining chip for survival.
We have all experienced the coming and going so GMs, Players and games; and then left holding the bag too start all over again at Square One. If and when you have to start over from scratch how and where (online) would you start I'll look for groups and games? There has been numerous reasons that would force someone to start all over again be it scheduling, life, work, people changing.
>>97349305I've had a to move interstate a few times for work so I've got used to finding new groups. In my experience heading to the local uni and seeing if they've got an rpg club is the best option, followed by searching some variation of 'tabletop rpgs in [city]' on facebook or re**it. Is it better to have fully anthropomorphic beast people in your settings or just humans with like animal ears and tails?
>>97350929I think the issue is deeper than that, although the slight change there helps, the way they were made to move and act combined with the scale of the world clearly was meant for them being more so either literal cats, or very slightly cartoony cats, and even if they were full furries it would look wrong.
>>97350929You don't even need an "anime" style to make it work, just any non-realistic style at all improves it vastly.
>>97348181I’m not so paranoid as to think that every depiction of an animal person is furry. None of the examples here scream furry, they’re simply beast folk that wouldn’t look out of place in any fantasy setting. You are seeing furries where they don’t exist my friend
>>97350808Also the human face is literally just copy-pasted onto the CGI head. That adds a few more notches into the uncanny valley.

>>97348020Much of the magic you see in Slayers is a lot of blasty magic, due to what the mc uses (She uses almost exclusively black magic, which is derived from demons and is offensive spells).
>>97349349>By the way, Warmage is actually the strongest character in the game in the early levelsIf you pump Int, yeah, but that has diminishing returns, especially since it is close to being a MAD caster.
>>97303082>>97303293>>97308901Never encourage someone to play 5e, it will cause them to pick up a lot of incorrect assumptions about how TTRPGs work. In addition, it is very hard to get someone to play 3.5e who has already played 5e, since playing 5e slowly takes away the spark that makes you a true TTRPG fan and turns you into just a 5e fan, or even worse someone who thinks that "5e is too hard/crunchy/lethal".
>>97326127>>97326600This is what a warhammer looks like IRL, it's not a cartoonish cylinder/brick on a stick which wouldn't even be able to be swung by a human, it's literally a hammer made for war.

Is it possible?I like scifi as a genre because all the new tech that show us, but in terms of aesthetics, always looks like shit.Do you know any scifi RPG with good aesthetics? Even if it's just concepts, draws or artworks.PD: If someone is going to say 40k, I admit it has cool things, but I don't find it pleasant.
>>97347719The reason why a lot of Scifi doesn't have good art, is because a lot of scifi is about new shit. It's own shit. Not tropes and motifs and such things. That makes good reading material, but does not lend itself well to the visual medium. The reason why settings like 40k, but also Dune, Star Wars, Alien and the like all look good, is because their design is always done in consideration to, if not pre-existing icons, tropes or motifs (monastic robes, angry faces, bloated insects, Space Knights, First rate ships of the line, the nazi's, the Napoleonic era etc), then they're designed clearly to evoke physical and emotional reactions by their shape, size and details (Sexual violence, predation, gorillan brutality, the unergonomic harshness of industrial technology, noble enlightenment, inhumanity, Everything about the new Dune movies). It's also why the early concept art for Dune all looks mid-to-shit (don't lie, it does). Because most of the time the fine details of what the character would have, were more important than what the character evokes, and you couldn't pick out a Sardukhari from an Atradian.TL:DR If you want your scifi art to be aesthetically pleasing, be less autistic, and ask what emotional impression you get.
>>97338525Infinity has my vote, space knights are a little silly but it simultaneously avoids the pauldroncore of 40k and dull NASApunk
>>97347751It's not like you can't have a mix of both old and new in a manner, see Stargate for instanceAlso idk how you can say Dune "looks good" when every visual interpretation of it looked way different. I like some depictions and don't care for others
>>97337980What is "good aesthetics" to you?Is it Star Wars or Star Trek? Destiny or Warhammer 40.000?Mass Effect or Starfield?Dune or The Outer Worlds?Titanfall or Starfinder? Avatar? Killzone? You gotta give us something here, anon. Do you look for Science Fantasy? Sleek and modern? Realistic? Gritty? Over the top, stylized and exaggerated? Depending on your personal taste, each of these can either be visual Gigakino or total shit.

What is the counterculture of 2020s, that could be used as the basis for a contemporary countercultural tabletop game?Take the World of Darkness for example, which was so grounded in the the counterculture of the 90s that it comes across as dated and strange today. How would you update the World of Darkness so that it better represents the counterculture of today?Nightmare Mode: Talk about more than just politics. There's more to rebellion against the status quo and the prevailing social norm than who you vote for.
>>97351585This took all of 15 seconds of googling anon. I like the granularity of distribution here. Look! Your point that Africa is big still stands! Good job!
>>97350789China is going to suffer a population crash on its own, partially because of pollution ruining its fertility and partially because of their lopsided demographics. Africa being a polluting place is also an illusion caused by the fact it exports so much of the developed world's trash. Per capita, most individual states are no more dirty than say, Germany.
>>97351585This one uses a similar colour coding to the shit map initially in question so I think is a better flippant response to you wanting some sort of last word bullshit, but its from 2016 so its less good although likely still accurate enough.
>>97350673Environmentalism is the red-headed stepchild of politics that both sides like in theory but disagree with the fine details (heavy corporate regulation for the right, heavy minority regulation for the left) so it ends up ostracized into its own thing. >>97351327Im suprised, is that the reason many tribes got sent to legends because they weren't that good? Also as for chosen i feel they should have some marauders to absorb ranged because of their movement and quantity?
>>973511734th edition really illustrates that they need to clean house. the battletomes in 4th are driving home the point that rose and his team in 3rd edition were just riding off the coat tails of 2nd editions design, and when actually allowed to make their own edition they made possibly the most soulless creatively bankrupt husk of a warhammer edition the company has ever seen across all of its franchises. i tried to give them the benefit of the doubt with the indexes because it was meant to just be a temporary holdover until the tomes, but then when the tomes started coming out and were just as if not more stripped down and unimaginitive than the indexes, it really showed that this was the vision, and i dont think theres any saving this design team. they need a clean slatei mean for fucks sake ironjawz army rules arent even a third of a page. every subfaction is a 3 line paragraph and half of them are recycled across multiple armies. they trimmed artifacts and traits down to a meager 3 per army and they still cant make them goodand i swear to god if i see once per (army) on another standard army filling unit like what they did to blightkings and thunderers im fuckin marching down to nottingham myself
>>97351426No, that's because those 'tribes' were actually originally part of a sidegame called warcry. The gist was a bunch of chaos warbands fighting over glory, showing off some chaos stuff that's not just the big four. But obviously that makes it more niche to use in aos itself, so there wasn't really a point to keep producing all these kits when StD players likely only wanted one of them at most. The game also got soft-discontinued in the meanwhile.Anyway, not all of the boxes are gone though. Lots of the non-chaos warcry warbands (which came later) got fully integrated into their respective armies, like the hunters of huanchi who are in the second seraphon spearhead. Same story for the nurgle or khorne warcry guys.
