>>97347457>>97347638Also vouching for Battle Century, it's a very easy system to get into.
I'm getting surprisingly anxious. Saturday will be my group's first mech combat in almost 2 months. We lost one of the original players, took some time to talk through campaign issues, retconned out the prior two sessions, integrated a new player, and have been running through an "escape from captivity" arc. Now the PCs are finally on track to recover their mechs and try to blast off in a stolen shuttle. The hard part for me will be balancing the fight. The original PCs got their rides shot to pieces, but the newcomer's mech was captured intact, and will be able to perform field repairs on the other two to make them combat-capable... barely. So it will effectively be two glass cannons and one support unit. I'm thinking that some of their friendly NPCs (including the former PC) can handle stealing the shuttle, and perhaps their Mysterious Benefactor has arranged for additional repairs to be performed to their machines, granting slightly better survivability. That way I can give the team a proper fight, instead of it being a stomp in one direction or another.
>>97369553Ooh, neat. The comments seem surprisingly negative though.>It looks like it will turn out to be something other than Votoms.>Q: Is this Votoms? A: Maybe, partially.>The AT battle will only last the first 5 minutes, and the rest of the story will be about Kiriko being chased by Rottina and punishing some thugs at a soba restaurant...>There seems to be more dialogue than in AT scenes.I guess it's kind of expected since Oshii has a history of going outside the box with other people's settings, but VOTOMS hasn't exactly been thriving in recent years. Maybe it'll work out.
>>97369553I'm going to cum
>>97371332Cool, I'm glad things are actively being worked on. That being said, having so many factions almost seems a bit worrying when a lot of the existing ones seem a little barebones, and I wonder if such a small company isn't stretching itself quite thin. In the last few years I feel like Mantic really hurt itself by unveiling new games and factions all the time while leaving their core products without updates or refreshes for years on end. Could say the same thing for Corvus Belli with their endless Kickstarters as well but it seems like they've refocused themselves now.I do think there's a lot of potential in HGB that could be tapped with some marketing, documentation and quality eye-catching sculpts. Hopefully the game brings some more eyes.

For some time now, I've been developing my free game, an RPG/strategy interactive fiction simulator about a Dark Lord/Lady trying to conquer/destroy a fantasy world using intrigue, corruption, dark magic, and brutal military force.I have already sought and received your help several times, for which I am grateful.I am planning another major update, focusing primarily on the endgame. Players focused on direct conquest will have new ways to find loot—portals to crazy, Lovecraftian worlds, discovering new lands, and a magical slumber to wait for the rebirth of old enemies/the emergence of new ones (and seeing how the world changes in their absence). For players more interested in the less brutal side of world domination, the options for managing the territories of our empire will be expanded. Will you allow orcs to overrun Dark Elf cities? Will schools focus on training engineers for the army and economy, or on brainwashing them into blind obedience? Furthermore, I'm expanding the Dark Lord's interactions with other characters, including available romances. Of course, new content requires testing, and since, as usual, it's highly non-linear and dependent on player decisions (plus random generation), I can't test every combination myself. That's why I'm seeking the help of testers. Here is test version - no need for download, it is playable online in the browser, no need to register or download: https://adeptus7.itch.io/playtesting

>>97385740Hi, no, not Dungeon Keeper+. Of course SG ia one of the inspirations, but probably not main (e.g. Crusader Kings was more important). Its focus is not on on building and defending your lair (however there are elements of it), but influencing outside world, establishing cults and spy network, corrupting and cursing nations, leaders and other characters to change them into desired direction, institage wars or waging them yourself when the enemy is weakened etc. Why /tg/? Because I know that local anons helped with their ideas in creating many games (like Chapter Master) - and because I already make such threads few times, on the occasion of the previous updates and usually I got good and useful feedback.

Anyone use Ebberron as a setting?
>referee makes big 3D dungeon model>players therefore already know the entire layout>completely destroys the fun of exploring and mapping a dungeon
>>97375212How many hours would it take to build a setup similar to OPs pic though? You'd have to be pretty dedicated and really take an enjoyment in creating scenery. Its modular but you'd still constantly have to build additions to it if you actually run full on TTRPG campaigns with this level of dungeon building. My only real experience with this kind of stuff is spending a few afternoons making really terrible looking ruins out of cardboard so we could play war hammer.
>>97375291The setting up of OP's terrain would probably take 1-2hThere are no slots or whatever just magnets so it's easy to assembleDF is usually sold painted so there is no time needed for thatArchon Studio also started selling pre painted terrain, but I never used itThe painting time really depends on the terrainSome squares take 30sSome take an hourIt takes a bit longer to assembleI would guess twice as long as DF stuff?
>>97372392>Anyone who isn't a complete knuckle dragging autistic faggot will be agreeable to this. Why do you discriminate against OP like that?
>>97375291There are loads of methods for buying making your own setups now depending on price point and playability. It's not at all like it was 20 years ago where Dwarven Forge was the only option. You might be really surprised what you can do with just cardboard, hot glue, and craft paint. Add in 3d printing, plaster casting, etc, you can build a whole setup for a lot less effort and money than you might think. There is a company that has been around since forever selling plaster molds online intended for tabletop use and teenage me two decades ago thought their products were the coolest shit. As an adult with a career and disposable income I've been tempted on many occasions to buy a set of molds but I don't actually have the space or time for it.I can tell you from experience though that while full height walls (like the dwarven forge stuff has) look really cool, they aren't very playable and take a long time to set up. Floor-only tiles, or free floating walls, are a lot more practical and faster to set up. Simply lay down floor sections and whatever dressing as you go, or loose walls (with no flooring) for a free-form layout.
>>97372392>Hey, i know i can't stop you from seeing the existence of the cardstock, and the dungeon obviously can't go off the table we're using, but just play along, okay? I tried really hard on this.Very underrated tool as a DM

>>97366030They will bring back Fulgrin's perfect clone and have an Emperor's Children civil warAs for who will turn traitor ? Either Russ or the Khan
>>97366030Would any of the other Primarchs let the traitors return, though? The only one who I would believe wouldn't get trapped in the same gay baby jail as The Angel for turning himself in is Konrad Curze. Who is dead. Maybe Alpharius if he posted a 'very' convincing case of being a deep cover agent who was never actually traitor.
