Which magic item does your current PC want for Christmas?
>>97233519I try not to visualize it because visualizing it usually sucks. Realistically probably you carry it in your hand or affixed diagonally to your huge backpack, and you pull a strap to drop the entire backpack as soon as combat begins.I like using houserules which make carrying capacity dramatically reduced, which solves the issue. You either carry the pole in your hand, or on your cart/mule, or you don't take it at all.
What's the Christmas equivalent in your setting?
>>97234251define encounters so I can judge you
>>972356031st encounter: Skeleton Guardians that guarded the entrance to the temple2nd encounter: Ghosts that were intangible in either light or darkness, forcing the party to either produce light, produce darkness, or position themselves to be able to damage the respective ghosts3rd encounter: Skeleton Guardians that detected the party, and barricaded the door behind them to allow lesser skeletons to arise and begin arming themselves by picking up weapons and shields while the party had to find a way to either bypass or muscle through the guardians4th encounter: Zombies eternally stuck in a chow hall. No combat with anyone, but still drained health as an undead ogre chef happily gave information if they ate his “slop”. The ogre was so happy that someone actually willingly ate his food he exploded. The zombies cheered, went outside, and perished the moment they reached the edge of the temple’s undead zone.5th encounter: Shadows and a Spectre.6th encounter: Boss fight with a ghost atop the temple’s bell tower.Forgot the fact that the party’s long rest got interrupted by Hobgoblin scouts that tracked them down. They dealt with them, got some info from some context clues, then got their rest.

>>97235496Honestly, it kind of failed as a lore dump episode, as the werewolf stuff was just dry recital of stuff written in a book with D offering occasional comments, interspersed with a much more interesting story about a Stolen Moon in which the actual Garou was of tertiary significance. No one came away from that episode excited about the Garou, they came away from that episode excited about the Stolen Moons.
>>97235517I feel like the Stolen Moon plot will come back, if only because it seemingly comes out of nowhere.
>>97233301>drunk dudebro poets.Anon, that would make most Toreador obsessed.
>>97235478>but I also think a werewolf pack is very much not a 2nd arc hunt without significant powerups to the cast. That's why even D is waiting for the coalition boys, he says as much in the episode. They're not going to be running 1v1s with the werewolves, they're going to be relying on a small army of backup hunters, not to mention I imagine at least some of the Arcanum cast is going to be helping. Depending on how many people get sent, we're talking having the werewolves outnumbered 5 to 1. That's actually favored if the hunters have silver. honestly, they kinda undersold how quickly you can drop a werewolf with a silver bullet unless they have one of the very specific gifts that lets them soak it outside of breed form. Also, and I really don't wanna have to rewatch that episode but I'm pretty sure that the Nails were just ambivalent towards local supernaturals (because they're hypocrites), rather than explicitly in league with them. They certainly didn't do much to save the green-clawed one. Also is Matilda actually popular or is it just horny from furries and musclegirl fetishists? Because we don't really know her the way we know Kevin, Guy, etc. And god, don't get me started on M*ge. I'm hoping that NWG would be enough to keep it out of HtP, as a major force at least. >>97235496What are you talking about? 1.1 is 45 minutes speculating about local legends. 1.2 is a little over 30 with limited Tremere lore. 3.1 is mostly character work and setting up the kevin B plot with a bit of basic info about ghouls, 3.2 is character work and a prophecy, 3.3 is a character intro, 3.4 and .5 is more B plot, and 3.6 was a shitpost with some character work.

>>97235383>You can't fix yugiohs problem without just banning entire mechanics or starting over and making a new gameI don't see that happening. Especially not a new game. There's not enough support in the West for two games (even if they brought it over Rush Duel would die on the vine), and they'd never outright jettison or restart the original game. And, again, resets alone do not guarantee a good game even when they're regular; they just help mitigate mistakes and can aid in preventing things from spiraling out of control while still encourzging players to buy new cards (which is what matters). I haven't played Rush Duel and know little about it, but Konami will still be Konami and I'm guessing Rush Duel reflects it.
There is no point to using MtG as a measuring stick or reference when Duel Masters exists and is objectively better in every single way anyway
>>97235530Personally I think another issue is the minimum deck size is 40 it makes combo decks ultra consistent
>>97235615No, Konami printing redundant quantities of archetypal starters makes combo decks ultra consistent and combo piles that need to play several bricks or garnets like Branded or Earth Machine end up being more consistent at higher deck sizes because they're less likely to open with a dead card in their opening 5 while still having 22+ potential live play starters to draw. This obviously isn't the case with every archetype as not all of them are printed with the same quantity or quality of combo starter, but there's a lot of once-meta or forever rogue decks that are gasping for more consistent starters. Rescue Ace would probably best be played at 50 cards if it had 1-2 more archetypal names that lead to full combo without a normal summon due to the 4 soft garnets it plays for Turbulence's quad set.If anything, I think cards like Pot of Prosperity proportionally gave more value to decks not personally blessed by John Konami than the decks that already have ample starter/extender density and better things to do with their ED.
>>97235614Mtg, Pokemon, yugioh, metazoo are the only card games I've actually played. I've heard good things about it but all I really know is that it exists and mtg characters show up in it

Can give advice how to fuse together Fomalhaut and Yoon Suin? I will run Fomalhaut and want add Yooun Suin on far east. There are two reasons for this. First i like both setting, and second I want to add a really big city and Yun Suin with its Indian vibes seems like a great addition to the Mediterranean Greek/Arabic vibes of the main region.
>>97234955>>97234877>solo gamer wants to talk about anxiety It'll be okay. Don't prep the end, just set up the world a bit and let people explore. Explain those concepts at the beginning. They're going to have very different ideas about what's going on or the point of the activity than you, that's not a problem. No advice for that game, doubtful you'll get much traction with it here.
>>97235494I've used Yoon-Suin quite a bit. What about it were you thinking of using specifically? >Indianess The Hundred Kingdoms part is very India inspired, but wasn't a part I used at all. Its on the map but wasn't as interesting to anyone so we haven't gone there. Starting in the Yellow City worked well enough, generating an outsider's quarter with the tables gave me enough to work with and do an intro adventure. The hex content generation for Lahag was I think, in retrospecct compared to other hexcrawling I've run and read about, too crowded. There's basically an encounter every hex which themes with the jam packed jungle but felt like too much in play. >fomalhaut I've only used the Nocturnal Table and liked it quite a bit.
>>97235546What about it were you thinking of using specifically? Whole setting will be cool, but at least Yelow city. Use it as a class I city, a journey to which is a separate adventure, a place where you can take a caravan with great profit and where there is the greatest chance of buying/selling a magic item. But the problem is that Fomalhaut as a planet was a lifeless glacier 4,000 years ago until an interstellar Greek civilization arrived there. 3,200-3,800 years ago, it fell in war, after which the inhabitants of Fomalhaut slid into the age of iron and bronze. Meanwhile, Yoon-Suin is simply a fantasy setting, just set not in the Western Middle Ages, but in the Indian/Far Eastern.
>>97235466Nice ill keep that in mind, thx!

What kind of fantasy monsters are you into? I like original abominations, standard humanoids/mythological creatures/giant animals are boring to me.
>>97228517The Nemean Lion. I like the fact its a huge ass lion with nigh invulnerable skin and is intelligent. Moreso that Grappler Baki has become the baseline of what I consider "mundane" strength in a fantasy setting so pic related would be how I'd imagine the Nemean Lion to be.
>>97228517The more rooted in folklore or myth the better.I like Fomorians and hosts of ghostly riders, and evil child-stealing fairies that aren't quite elves and aren't quite goblins.I like the vengeful dead, and tremendous animals that can speak, because they are touched by ancient powers.Manifestations of untamed nature and the malice of the ancient dead.

More map campaign system thoughts: I might ditch the entire thing of controlling hexes with nothing in them to gain territory and money. Yes, in a perfect world the army I like would have all the things I want when I want them. Doesn't seem like an interesting game though. I did a christmas Jawa one shot for my star wars campaign once. They had to sneak into Mos Eisley and steal a bunch of stuff for Jawa Life Day. Ended up getting caught and had to kill a couple New Republic troopers to get out of there
Last year the players had a great time at the Whomstville Christmas Festival meeting a cast lf kooky characters and stopping the Binch from sabotaging all the eventa like sled races, figure skating, and cookie decorating. It ended with the party ambushing The Binch as he tried to blight the big christmas tree in front of everyone in Whomstville only to realize that his mischevious scheme was actually the equivalent of a magival nuke and accidentally killed everyone in Whomstville. This year the party had to go back to the Whomstville Memorial Site after reports that the Binch was seen cavorting with some unknown figures during his house arrest. The Binch explained it was his bitch of an ex-wife Gryla and their thirteen ugly fucked up kids called the Yule Lads ttying to ruin Christmas and made it very clear he wasn't involved because he was on parole. The party went down the back of The Binch's mountain where they had to fight the 13 Yule Lads, each equipped with one very unique power(Stekkjastaur made you want to fuck animals, Spoon-Licker would summon dancing spoons to fuck you up, door-sniffer would stab you with his proboscis nose if you didn't spend your move action giving him bread, ect) and Jolakastur, the giant Yule Cat that fucks you up if you dont have new clothes on christmas. The battle devolved into a mad panic to get across the map giving eachother gifts to keep Jola off of them while slowly whittling through the Yule Lads. It was a ton of fun.
