Except Eru apparently set it all up to happen that way it did, and even nudged Gollum off the cliff and into the lava at the end. So OP is technically right, Eru was never going to let Sauron win, it was all in his control the whole time.

He quite literally said to melkor "cope and seethe, you can't make shit up that i have already thought of first" after the song of the ainur, it's melkor (and sauron) fault for not listening.
>>
>>97228499
I don't even think it's the act of wanting to create things for himself that makes Melkor evil. Aulë created the dwarves without Eru's knowledge and Eru still accepted them into Arda.

The problem is that Melkor made shit like orcs, dragons, and disease when given the chance.

Eru Iluvatar was a dick but only because he sang a bunch of aggressive and destructive bullshit into being around Tom Bombadil's otherwise peaceful realm.

It does seem like they are massively simplifying levels. In the sample deck they provided, no spirits have more than two levels: https://battlespirits.com/pdf/standard-early-access_deck.pdf. It looks like now all spirits have a level 1 and a "True Release" state which is level 2 for all intents and purposes, but nothing beyond that.

I think the Leonidas is a great all-rounder with its stealth armor, but for flexibility to take on other BA and larger targets you really only have the option of the David.

Black Wolves are tough though for BA, with reactive making them resistant to the normal infantry counters, and the ERSPL or LBX gives them damage enough to keep mechs worried. The JJ is really just to get them a TMM, but it can also get them down from vantages if you had time to set them up on buildings or cliffs.

I bought minis for both for my mercenary company since I was planning on using them to babysit conventional infantry; there's pros and cons for either.
>>
>>97224296
>>97224309
Not really no, an IS Regiment is at least twice that number, arguably three times.
>>
>>97222448
Mechs can still jump with BA riding on them but vehicles cannot. Look at the phrasing of the rule, Mechs and Vehicles are two distinct categories of units.
>>
>>97228270
That is exactly the point I was trying to make. The original question all the way back at the start of the thread was “can Omnimechs run and jump with Elementals attached” and the guy that answered “no” missed the fact that the rule he cited said vehicles can’t jump, but it didn’t say mechs or units. Just vehicles.

Dexterity for aiming, strength bonus for damage. Also, the bigger bows (with higher damage) have a minimum strength to draw them.

>Do you see it getting better or worse?
Depends on your point of view. The lore won't get any better, primaris garbage is here to stay and it's unlikely that prices will ever go down in a meaningful way. GW has figured out that manufactured scarcity drives FOMO sales and there are too many whales and scalpers for the practice to not make sense. I don't see them ever changing the rules to get rid of IGYG and the game will always be steered by tournament fags. Scale creep isn't going to be rolled back so the abundance of high model count armies are still going to be cumbersome to play. I don't have any issue with CAD made sculpts in principal, but the chunky cartoonish style we have now isn't going anywhere which is sad. The "diversification" may halt as the zeitgeist changes, but it wont be rolled back.

On the bright side, they did bring back the old world and it's cheaper than 40k. 30k being converted to plastic is cool. A lot of old sculpts being redone is hit and miss, but the new eldar and necrons look great; I love that necrons got an expanded model range.

What kind of fantasy monsters are you into? I like original abominations, standard humanoids/mythological creatures/giant animals are boring to me.
>>
>>97228517
I like thinking about how fantasy monsters would affect the world around them. What would a world with these kind of abominations look like?
Probably a whole lot fewer people living behind palisades, a much better trained levy that uses mostly long spears/pikes. Trade occurs with heavily armored and escorted caravans, making it much more expensive. The existential threat of these wouldn’t obviate political war but there would probably be some concession to deal with these beings. Holy orders that can kill these beings would be lauded. Plate armor would probably be more widely distributed by holy orders. The church would likely have substantially more authority.

It’s the opposite. I don’t care that much about the lore but i likewise don’t want to play against some ballaching metafag which is the majority of people i’ve met in KT so far. To claim that you just want to “throw some dice” is absurd when metafags are the least casual players you can go against.

My last game had my opponent go over the entire meta leaderboard status of the top teams and how the newest dataslate could impact the upcoming this and that other fuckin tournament. Who gives a shit.

>>97216044
I’ve never met the latter in my life in any game. I would find a /yourdudes/ autist pretty annoying i’m sure but i’ve yet to even meet one to make this observation.

The most fun games are somewhere in the middle where it’s a good clean fun game where the rules are observed but both sides remember that we are trying to simulate dudes fighting eachother and not merely moving spreadsheets around
>>
>>97222716
>both sides remember that we are trying to simulate dudes fighting eachother and not merely moving spreadsheets around
Not instigating anything, but what would this look like to you? And how would it impact the game or enhance the enjoyment of the battle? I ask because used to live in a place where our local spot tried to implement a sort of narrative campaign but it ended up just being limply implemented and mostly limited to a whiteboard map that got colored in depending on what faction (Chaos, Xenos, Imperium) won the most games in any given week.
For me, KT has fun rules and good game design so just the act of playing is enjoyable; you could strip out the flavor of the teams and it still would be enjoyable on a mechanical level. Obviously the flavor is what adds the special spice to the game, getting to interact with the factions/setting you like and all that comes with that, but at its heart KT is still a warGAME to me.

Anyone played the new raveners ?
How do they play ? are they more of a aggro team or do they just hide in their tunnel and do missions mostly ?

hard to discribebut they mostly play passive aggro. practically like traps. if som, ething comes to close to the tunnel. they seem durable but mostly aren't. so hit n run tactics are a must.

k makes sense, I assumed they were like a turn 3-4 team since the tunnel is such a big part of their power, thanks for the info

I think that D&D 2e/3.X/5e, Pathfinder, and Draw Steel's cosmologies all have major issues with scale and in-game practicality. Setting authors tend to get weird about scale whenever extra worlds are involved, and these are no exception.

These games' settings want to fulfill multiple conflicting desires:
• #1: One or more "flagship" fantasy worlds: the Realms/Greyhawk/Dragonlance trio in 2e, mostly just the Realms in 5e, Golarion in Pathfinder, Orden in Draw Steel.
• #2: A vast universe full of so many other worlds, so that GMs can feel cool about their own homebrew worlds somehow sharing the same universe.
• #3: Otherworldly planes full of celestials, demons, devils, fairies, and the like.
• #4: These planes are so vast that they influence many worlds simultaneously! We have heard since 2e about how the Blood War has spilled into and ruined many worlds. Pathfinder's Hell has "countless malebranche," each specifically tasked with conquering a whole world for Hell.
• #5: The adventures that take place on a "flagship" fantasy world are of super-great import. Their stakes and consequences ripple throughout even otherworldly planes.
• #6: The planes and their cities and hierarchies should be approachable in-game and understandable, not totally mind-boggling.

It's also a problem with numbers. 3e onwards can scale and level infinitely, but there's a point where that +1 to hit, or even +5, or +10 becomes naught but a rounding error. The Immortals Handbook books tried to create cosmic-scale D&D and had some really cool ideas, but the balance and number inflation resulted in it being hot garbage.

One big issue is that the games are designed with the idea that +21 is only a slightly better than +20 which is already in the realm of epic heroes, rather than "You're not a guy with +21 to the roll, you're one of the ten guys in the world with +21 to the roll, and there's five with +22, and one with +23, the guy with +25 is the weakest member of the Great 10 and..."

Another big problem is the d20, the bigger the core roll, the harder it is for a modifier to mean something. Though cosmic adventures are possible, the simple fact is that numbers break down at a certain point, and you end up having to do things like "My infinity is bigger than yours" or "Only paragon-tier and higher heroes can inflict damage on this monster".
>>
>>97227489
Fantasy is the last place there should be multiverse slop, all you need is one main terrestrial setting, a divine/heavenly realm, and a netherworld
>>
>>97227634
>"Only paragon-tier and higher heroes can inflict damage on this monster".
This is the norm in some settings.
>>
Multiverses and parallel timelines are the worst thing that can happen in any story for multiple reasons. Scale just happens to be one of them. These are concepts that appeal to literal retards that find the whole idea that there is more than one of a thing the most mind-blowing shit ever and genuinely believe that that makes them smarter.
>>
When it comes to worldbuilding, I use only 2-3 planes. Depending is the afterlife is canon.

Magic should NOT be rare.
It should be at minimum between uncommon and common. It should be well explained, yet at the same time it should not be given out like candy. Only few should have access to magic.
Small spells should be instant, without chants and require those depending on the spell's magnitude (not to mention specific reagents).
Magic should be powerful at least and bordering extremely close to reality warping if not being this, yet should also have the user pay the price for overdoing it.
