Anyone remember the WoW rpg?

Which is both funny and sad because literally the same company did an Everquest adaptation a few years before that and actually made a real effort to make it feel like the source material instead of just putting 3E in a dollar store halloween costume.
>>
I love how you have literal WoW ttrpg here and you will still have retards like >>96751673 calling 4e "tabletop wow" because they can't admit that 3e was the biggest jump in turning d&d into a videogame of any edition, but they grew up with it so they cant besmirch its good name
>>
>>96764302
I'm pretty sure they said that because of all of the people who likened 4.0 to being like an MMO. I know people were doing that online at the time, and I remember people saying it at my LGS.
>>
>>96764372
Yeah, and 3.0 was rightfully shat on for being tabletop diablo but the retards that grew up with it were quick to bury that, weren't they
>>
>>96763934
>Also, Night Elves associate with the Tauren when it comes to druidic matters.
Ironic, since tauren druidic matters are a result of the mmo mechanics. They had to give druids to a Horde race to even it out.

Trench Crusade General - /trench/
Let's Make A Warband Generator Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online, but are split between the website and the discord. They have all been collected here for your convenience:

Not the entire appeal of the game, but kitbashing (using any minis, not just gw ones) is a big part of it and actively encouraged by the devs.

Not all, but it's a lot. It means that most armies will not resemble each other, and it's kinda a treat to see.

Sounds like something the Ventrue's senior ghoul tells an underling if the tryst is discovered. Which would totally not prompt said senior ghoul, their underling, and the Lasombra's most loyal ghoul from being in an adjacent hallway next time. Spying on their masters fighting for dominance under the guise that they don't want the haven to come down nid-coitus.

I could use some hobby / proxy advice or suggestions. I'm planning on making TK that are snake cult themed. Problem is that apart from the Necropolis Knights there aren't other snake units in the official range. Immediately I do think I can proxy the Tomb Scorpion with a giant snake, I just need to find a good proxy model for it. I could also switch Tomb Swarms with swarms of snakes. I'm open to suggestions if anyone is aware of models that could be used as proxies among other hobby related things I could do to spice up my skellies.

Should Space Marines be made more common? These mythical warriors of only 1 million or so total spread thin throughout the Imperium does NOT match up with what we actually see, which is the Astartes showing up in large numbers to even minor conflicts and dying in large numbers as well.

The route I would take is reduce their lore capabilities to get closer to the tabletop feeling, and increase chapter numbers to allow more narrative room for losses. A supersoldier rather than a demigod, and 10,000+ a chapter so 10-50 deaths isn't a remarkable loss.
>>
>>96752015
Even though the Marines' ground performance gets propagandized to hell, their real strength is the fact they are a combined arms space force which is somewhat of a rarity in the IOM: that chapter of 50 supersoldiers has access to multiple battle barges comparable to a battleship in ability plus supporting craft.

They're mascots to their space navies, which are the actual muscle in their offensive ability.
>>
>>96759691
>but there's only about 1 space marine for every planet the Imperium has
and that is more than enough.
>>
>>96757536
According to one of the old necron codices, there are millions of tomb worlds. Multiple times as many tomb worlds as there are worlds claimed by the Imperium. Every other faction out there is a complete and utter joke next to necrons.

I imagine it's having the players actually pick a direction to begin with. Obviously you don't want to interfere with the players' decision making process, but there does come a point where caution and preparation becomes indecision and fear of commitment, and a proper GM knows when to signal the players they need to do something if they aren't actively trying to suss out more information to make a better decision.

Here are all the major problems with it IMO.
>Blocker is way too powerful and basically gives one player the ability to dictate how combat works and there are few tools to work around it. Only one player essentially gets to play the game.
>Blue has too much utility. Resting, bouncing, ping, card draw, repair.
>Blue and White have the best commands in the game to control the board and have a bigger impact than the red and green commands.
>Kira and Amuro give a huge advantage in combat when persistent damage is supposed to be a thing.
>High Maneuver is too exclusive.
>There is so much Ping that it makes anything with 1 HP worthless and makes go wide tokens horrible.
>Green Tutors are restrictive and can whiff, which makes them worse than card draw.
>Support should be able to be used during the action phase and not be exclusive to main.

TCGplayer has this at 8¢
>3 for a 3/3 is pretty meh
>Long Range only matters when it is attacking
>Doesn't have ferocity, so it can't attack the turn you play it
>Bounces at EOT after he attacks
>The little Troll support there is wants your Trolls to be damaged so their attack goes up
>This card will never be damaged because of Long Range and self bouncing
>Rogue support is a bit better, can make it so he can't be attacked or blocked, but there are much much better options

Really just out shinned in every way by other cards. Even if there is some kind of tech involving bouncing a card and then discarding it for a cost there are cards like Tiril Dawnrider, Karina of Silvermoon, Knife Throw, and Corki's Ransom which all actually can do things faster.

Welcome to the 4Chan /g/ usenet group Thread! Now appearing on /tg/.

>What is /usenet/?
Open protocols still exist and are what the internet was built on (http, irc, rss, ftp, etc). Not owned by corpos, not under govt control, and are accessible to anyone with an internet connection. They simply exist to be built upon and enjoyed by all.

Join and discuss such topics as usenet, or topics like TTRPGS, WH40K, and STUFF.

>WTF IS USENET
Literally it means the Users Network. It’s an open protocol for posting and reading messages, organized by newsgroups. It's entirely decentralized, no single server, impossible to take down.

Today it is split between, binaries and text. The binaries part is what it’s known for today: piracy. The text part is forgotten and abandoned (except for that one guy in alt.tv...), until now.

>WHY POST ON USENET
Its open protocol, you can use any client you want or build you own. No costs, no subscriptions, no money. You can sign up through your ISP or burner email address. Then you just need to install a client.

>Have Drow faction in my DnD homebrew
>Want them somewhat familiar to new players yet being different
Is this even possible? My setting is an Age of Sail world where all the elemental and other planes of existence are forced into the Material Plane and the Drow ended up in a caldera out at sea where they hastily had their spiders shit out a ton of webbing to create a canopy of webs that block out the sun. Lolth has gone silent and they aren't sure what to do now.
>>
>>96766545
The Lolth-autism is already an unfortunate big part of the D&D-like drow idea. Makes these drow about finding their own meaning and place in this world without this goddess, including internal strife and warring factions with different viewpoints. Some may want to uphold the matriarchy, while others realize that the women are far less powerful without the bitch backing them up. Some may even be not outright evil and more willing to cooperate with other races.
>>
>>96766569
I think diplomacy and trade are going to be interesting; previously they could raid the material plane nations and scamper back to the Underdark knowing they were safe; now they are only a mere boat ride distance from their wary neighbors.
>>
>>96766545
Naturally, they should make magical submarines. Trade underground for underwater, and keep raiding the surface.

Maybe instead of Lolth they discover a kraken or whatever, priesthood claim that's Lolth avatar, and they worship that, pretending Lolth is still behind them.
