Due to how Fumiko interacts with people, she may give an aloof and mindless air, but she is probably the second smartest member of the Fujiwara-Senki, and one of the most self-conscious and aware. Lets see, there are a couple main focuses:
1. Shapeshifting
2. Hunting
3. Cooking

I wonder if that could be focused down more to give more info on two of them rather than splitting the focus across three.

Things I like:
1. Survivalist guild is a pretty good choice
2. Being "Hunted" and Hunted seems like fun options for the kinks section

Things I'm unsure about:
1. Not knowing her original race when her design is so distinctive it feels like it should play a part somehow
2. Two traits about cooking but I dont really understand what it means that she is a good cook despite the looks. Does she just cook really strange ingredients but they turn out tasty?

frightened is one of those "penalizes literally everything you do", being frightened reduces your attack, your AC, your saves, everything. Something like No Cause For Alarm is kind of ass, but if you have an ally who is frightened 2 or 3, using something to reduce that by 1

You have correctly identified that most of the time a lot of the more situational +1/-1 shit is stupid and lame, while the stuff that applies to the most common checks (or just the most shit in general) is usually what ends up good. Bard's being able to just slap a +1 attack on the entire team is evergreen.

I can believe that the degrees of success can make those small modifiers more impactful in practice than my common sense would gut-react for d20 rolls (since I know objectively it's more complicated than "+1 = 5% more likely to succeed" and probably more like "+1 = 20% likely to bump you up a success level"). Unfortunately this is still paizo and they love printing endless dogshit, which makes how generally fun and solid the foundation is really frustrating. Very manageable from the GM side though, and if you have a consistent circle you can probably accumulate optional rules or houserules to taste. I don't think you have to play RAW to understand how things work for when you change it, but doing so drastically reduces the time it takes.

A bit on the Free Archetype deal, it isn't necessarily the fault of the classes or the class feat system, moreso on the archetypes themselves. A lot of Archetypes just function better as supplements to a class than replacing such, stuff like Herbalist, Scout, or wide variety of organization archetypes like Hellknights. Blame Paizo for undershooting the power level, but it just feels better for everyone to let people express themselves more, especially as several classes do just have must-have feat picks.

There's definitely a lot more of Column A than Column B, but you are working with Paizo. They do love their stupid Mystery of the Druids ritual for paltry buffs, even in this system.

A maul (crushing) always gets a *1.5 wounding modifier to the neck (note that in GURPS 'damage' is the amount of damage rolled before deducting DR, 'wounding modifier' is a multiplier applied after DR, and 'injury' is the loss of HP after applying the wounding modifier; mixing this terminology up is common, but can result in confusion). Correct, because a maul deals crushing damage, whatever penetrating damage gets through is multiplied by 1.5x.

No, a "Major Wound" is any HP loss that's greater than half a character's total HP. Which forces a stun/knockdown roll, roll vs HT or get stunned. Major wounds to the face or neck impose a penalty on this check, and a major wound to the skull an even more severe penalty. All a critical hit does by default is automatically hit a target.

You're thinking too literally, a non-lethal blow (making the HT save) could just be abstracted as a blow that isn't solid enough to really aslpode someone's head. Plus, it's really not worth the trouble of dealing with a weapon capable of so much damage that also bypasses a core mechanic like HT saves vs death.

yeah I was trying to do something more generic. this is my first try at doing this type of thing so I want to do a little of everything. maybe have a woodland on one side, a farmhouse on one corner, a little urban area in the center that would be good for defending, an open field area with maybe a couple craters. hell maybe even a river if I can figure out how to use the epoxy stuff

The Mega trove has Hoplomachia in the "Perfect Captain" folder. Ancients folder has Macedonian-Punic Wars set from Crusader.

I have "Hoplite Warfare", it's mentioned in the screenshot the fella posted, and it's follow-up "Hellenistic Warfare" . Bought them in the 80's and I doubt they've aged well.

I'm a total luddite when it comes to computers but will give scanning them a go, if you're interested that is ; mind they're 40 year old.
