It's Da PDF Share Thread!

STEP 0:
<----- That image is not a PDF, it's an image, at least for now. Check the 4plebs link below to find the PDF.
PLEASE READ DA FAQ BEFORE REQUESTING OR SHARING.
It will answer 99% of your questions about this thread. If you haven't read it, we will know.

STEP 1:
Please exhibit good manners. Threads start sliding off the board after a certain number of posts. More posts wasted on being rude means fewer posts available for sharing.

STEP 2:
Request, share, stay awesome!

>create a system
>it's good
>but have a huge ego and expect the system to become popular through word of mouth
>do 0 PR for the system
>do Pikachu face when the system tanks
Literally the story of every new indie system in the last 20 years. What's wrong with people in this industry? Does this industry only attract retards or what? It seems that way because only DND has created an official online service, while the rest believe that Internet is something secondary in the 21st century.

First - have a normal online store and online service for the game, it's the 21st century for fuck sake. Second - don't make the bare bones system, most people dont have time to make monsters, NPCs, campaigns, adventures, econters, etc. for a new game, these are the tasks of the authors. Never stop making new content. Third - try to conduct an advertising campaign to the best of your ability. This also includes novelizing your setting, literally all the big players on the market are successful solely thanks to tons of books written about their universe and other multimedia. If you want to make miniatures, also include miniatures ready to play out of the box, don't listen to stupid faggots who built their entire identity around miniatures. I'm not saying you can completely ignore them, just have common sense and give people have a choice - those who just want to play should buy ready-made miniatures, those who want to do everything with their own hands should buy bits, it will increase your audience. And if it's all too hard and too much work for you, then change your mentality and tell yourself that as long as your project is making some money, you're successful. Or even tell yourself that you're successful simply because you released your system, who cares, it's your life.

>Gordon Remzi
Who?
>>
>>97821411
The hobby principally attracts hobbyists, who are more interested in the process of creation than in monetizing it. You're assuming ego and expectation of popularity because you're assuming that the goal is "success" as you've defined it, rather than simply to share what they've done.

If DND was realistic then literally all adventurers get hunted down (by professional adventurer hunter soldiers) and hung at the execution block for being outlaw bandits.

Nobody likes vigilantes in all of history (OUTLAWS!) and adventurers are basically just bandits because they make a living by killing people and looting bodies...

DNDs where adventurers are hated by everyone and hunted down like witchers are extremely based.

The Adventures Guild in the village? Arrested and draft conscripted into the baron's Penal Battalions!

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

Hard disagree.

I dont need to explain this, but you need a playerbase to play a game, not 5 people from different corners of the world saying "this game is cool" and then not playing it and going back to Warhammer because noone is even playing the game.

You have lots of games that just come out and then the creator moves on, noone plays those games. This thread belongs on /awg/ with the rest of the games noone plays but simply acknowledge exists, yet dont play. I thought the thing that made TC stand out was that it was actually trying to do things that clawed out of that mire, now youre arguing that it should be there.

>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.

The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,
Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenos Rampant, Xenotactics...
...and anything else that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread.

>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG by R. Talsorian Games, set in a (then) future inspired by film noir and the dark science fiction films and books of the late 20th century. It focuses on simulationist gameplay and lethal near-future combat.

Cyberpunk RED is the latest edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG, set after the devastating Fourth Corporate War. It focuses on more balanced, streamlined gameplay and is currently supported by R. Talsorian Games.

how did I know I was talking to someone who would bring up linear frames? yeah if you spend a chunk of euro and humanity you get better. combat cyberware makes you good at combat in the cyberpunk game, news at 9. it's hardly minmaxing lol. is this the part where you bring up martial arts + linear frame?

>>
>>97822215
Sure but 2000 eddies and like 28 Humanity is nothing on CC. Keep in mind the corp deal gives you 1500 to spend on Cyberware. It's the single best piece of gear in the game. Lets you DUMP your Body while also maxing it out, massively increasing your survivability and opens the gateway to the strongest combat options in the game.

It's the same issue as LAJ and Bullet Dodging, it feels like a mandatory thing you have to pick for your build with little alternative.
>>
>>97821908
Oh yeah. It's been so long, I forgot the corebook's layout. That's certainly the first problem anyone will encounter.
And even if the core rulebook was actually well edited, because we've had dozens of DLCs, the rules, the bits, it's all scattered without rhyme or reason. Pathfinder's bloat is manageable thanks to the online databases, but R.Tal would never provide anything as handy as Archives of Nethys.
>>97822024
My problem with the balance is that char-gen characters are impervious to street level enemies unless the PCs have horrendous luck over multiple combat rounds. Sure, you CAN escalate, but then you're no longer at street level.
My personal quick-and-dirty fix is LAJ to give -1 penalties, so the bullet dodgers are at Kevlar's 7 SP.
Another balance problem is that opportunity cost of NOT making an attack are high enough that other Actions aren't really used unless they're absolutely necessary.
I don't have any quick fix for that. I was toying with letting people attack once with a ROF2 weapon and do a minor action like opening doors, but I never got anything concrete.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

A vampire is a vampire regardless of game system.
That said it's more fun to all be on the same page when it comes to setting and tone, so using a game system that is explicitly written to play as vampires for a vampire game just makes the most sense.
There are very low odds I would find a group playing a system built for dungeon crawling to convert the whole system to fit everyone being vampires in a modern urban environment.

Welcome to /2eg/, a thread dedicated to all things 2nd Edition D&D related - including settings, lore, modules, and derived systems (Alternity, Buck Rogers XXVc, For Gold and Glory, Hackmaster, Myth and Magic, and more).

Since 2e draws heavily from earlier editions, older modules are welcome too. Other media derived from AD&D (such as Infinity Engine video games) also has a home here.

It's what you play, not how you play it. RAW or homebrew, as long as your table is having fun, there's no wrong way to play.

There's a surprisingly complete 2e fan wiki for rules stuff, it's excellent for quick reference:

> I posted here >>97819768 # about gold for XP and how 2e changed it.

Not particularly convincingly, though. I listed out a specific module published during the vaunted “first decade” and asked you how it would actually play differently in practice if run using 2e, which mechanically, it can be as printed with no actual work on fhe DM’s part needed.

You spoke vet philosophically but you didn’t actually answer my question at any point, which wasn’t about gold for XP generally, it was about how the change in XP rules from 1e to 2e affected that specific module.
