I NEED MORE
Do more factions hang out with the kids of Godbeasts like the Stormcast do? I feel like that should be a bigger part of the setting even if so.
>>97390317That's like fyreslayer's whole shtick. And I gues technically SoB too.
Con/Health is a conceptually boring stat that should at the very least be looked at>Don't play DNDyeah I included health retard
>>97345443Wound-based death spirals only being appropriate for specific campaign genres is why I generally prefer Injury-based Health. Instead of taking losing a numerical value of HP or taking increasing penalties that murder your rolls, I'd rather your actions become more restricted the more injured you are. Injured Legs? Halved movement.Injured Arm? Can't use it for most actions.Injured Head? Lose your Reaction or equivalent.Injured Eye? Reduced perception and ranged attack distance. And so on and so forth until you succumb to your injuries. Gradually narrow down the options instead of just making the PCs useless because they fail everything due to penalties.
>>97376376Of course pointing to a system where they're independent doesn't prove anything. The fact that people choose to do that when they're not being forced to proves it. Did you not read any of my posts? Why do you continue to assume that they're being forced when no one said that they're being forced, and there's zero evidence to suggest it? It's like you're replying to some invisible third anon whose posts only you can see.
>>97348376No it's not. GURPS is just health numbers.

>>97370711>In the sense that He be ALLOWED to look upon His differences from any other actor and declare His actions a distinct set called "Miracles"That’s still akin to the human going up to an ant hill and declaring themselves god to all ants, while another human looks at them in total disappointment. “We’re not gods. We’re people!”. Dropping a piece of candy on the ant hill is a miracle. And don’t come at me with any of that “There can be only one (1) God!” bullshit because I’m just not having it.

It's like dead internet theory, but I like to call it One Autist Theory.I'm one of those people that thinks /tg/ is generally bad now, but imagine if everything about it is really just one outrageously cunty individual? Me, you, most everyone using the website is sane and normal, but this one disturbed idiot is anonymously pulling the weight of dozens of users, and we all think we're arguing with each other when really it's just one outrageously stupid asshole. It's almost comforting to think there may only be one stupid cunt on 4chan.
>>97389428Insisting "magic" and "miracles" always be associated with "wonder" to the point of calling ANY attempt at drawing clear objective boxes disingenuous does, in fact, prevent the writing of game rules for the two as distinct objective phenomena.>>97389515No, it's the equivalent of humans approaching a species of parrot or corvid that is somehow conversant and declaring their faculties better than the birds' "sapience". In both cases there is a a logical class with a logical difference in means of action that demands words to describe it. Just because there is not a demonstrable extant member of "god" or "miracle" like there is for "humans" using "sapience" to distinguish their faculties from those of parrots or corvids does not remove the necessity to preserve the meanings of those words that fulfil said demand.

HtVAnon fresh from another session. Offscreen, one of our Slashers, Jao Saao has evolved from a Ripper to a Scourge. As an Avenger who kills abusive men, she has killed enough and gained enough infamy that social memetic magic now dictates much of her existence. The PCs were intrigued to note that everybody in town seemed to be talking about her, despite her being inactive for several weeks at this point. No killings, no crime scenes, no nothing. So why is everyone talking about her? They visited a womens support group, where she'd been known to hunt for victims, and found instead women supporting oneanother in grief. Several of the people there maintained their murdered partners innocence, while some others were slightly more conflicted in their relationships and feelings. This meeting was gatecrashed by another relation to a victim, Jao Saao's first kill as a Slasher. Pic related. She went off on a rant about how every woman there was now free, thanks to divine intervention on behalf of this mysterious guardian angel. The PCs eventually tailed her home for several days, and ascertained that she doesn't seem to have any direct contact with the Slasher. She's just a bit mad, and a huge fan. While this is happening, Halloween is slowly approaching. Kids and Teenagers around town are dressing in costumes far earlier than normal, and many of these outfits seemed to be based on the real Slashers in town. The PCs got the address of the guy selling these outfits and paid him a visit. He recognised one of the PCs from a newspaper clipping, and offered to pay her for information on Jao Saao to make more authentic masks. She punched him in the jaw and left.
>>97390162disparates never made sense as a factionmore of a wastebasket taxon than the fucking tal'mahe'ra
>>97390241 Meanwhile, Steward, our resident homeless Union hero, was spreading rumours that Jao Saao's hammer had been spotted being used by a homeless guy near the old animal pound outside of town. A previous crime scene, it was abandoned after the Bodybagger drove a bin-lorry into the front of the building. The PCs planned to bait the area and ambush Jao Saao. The PCs had noted in a previous encounter at the nightclub that she was obsessively devoted to it, and became visibly distressed when disarmed and separated from it. They were unsure if she had a magical connection to the hammer, or if a decoy would do. In the end, they settled on a decoy. Lenny trapped the building with bear traps and set torches up, and the group sat and waited. After midnight, Jao Saao arrived to claim her hammer. Steward made a convincing play of wandering about holding the decoy, pretending not to notice her and retreating inside the building, luring her into the trap. Blinded by a need for her beloved hammer, she walked right into the trap. Two shotgun blasts, two rifle shots and a longsword slash ended her with absolutely zero retaliation. It was almost anticlimactic on my end, but the PCs used their knowledge and set a perfect trap. It was incharacter for her to blunder straight into it, and that's what happened. Only Steward noticed a figure watching from a nearby field, as the group loaded her body into her car and split up. The body was taken to the morgue where Minayo works, marked as a Jane Doe and signed off immediately. All in all, the session was a lot of fun. Next session will be halloween, the Changeling will be properly introduced and some conflicts of interest will arise. At the end of the session, Lenny's Player asked if I was familiar with Skindancers from oWoD. He mentioned that once they catch his Werewolf quarry, Lenny might feel it appropriate as an honorific to bathe Duncan in the blood of his father's killer. Which sounds like fun for the whole family.

Rebellions in 40k usually happen on a single world, or within a very limited region, and are often isolated before they can spread. In Star Wars, the rebels are far weaker than the Empire, but because hyperdrives are easy to obtain and relatively safe, they can carry out guerrilla tactics. By contrast, the Imperium in 40k doesn’t have a rebel problem as severe as the Galactic Empire did, because warp travel is terrible and can't really do it without a Navigatorso if the Imperium ever figures out a truly safe form of faster-than-light travel, it would face horrific rebel problems all across the galaxy.
>>97352759Because the scientific method completely broke down and the art of constructing technology turned into a religion of praying for each and every nut and bolt on a vehicle. so that it takes decades to build a single tank.
>>97353716That's not it at all. It's that they are working with tech from 20,000 years ahead of our future, but with our level of understanding about tech. If you asked someone to explain why a computer worked, or give them all the parts to make one, they couldn't do it. Now imagine what the tech of the far far future will look like. Early 40k describes tech being crystalline just to hammer home what level of advanced sophistication it has (they ditched that because it looks dumb). The AdMech need their prayers not because they worship nuts and bolts, it's how they've kept the memory of how basic shit operates alive for millennia.
>>97345238most rebellion happen because living in the Imperium sucks
>>97345238Most rebelions happens because planetary ruler sucks and is overthrown in pesant revolt or planetary ruler believe he can get richer by secedding from Imperium. Chaos gets involved later.Outside Horus Heresy no big rebelion was because of Chaos, Nova Terra decided they rule Imperium now and entire segmentum followed, Reign of Blood just administratum chief turned pope decided he want more power, no chaos influence, Badab? tax issue and marines not complying with law, Huron became chaos lord after his rebelion was crushed.Rebelion on planet bumpfuck nowhere? Govenor decided that paying taxes hit his bottom line and it's not like Imperium care so he stops paying taxes, or local population have enough of govenor being asshole and overthrow him.

>>97355211I do enjoy the autism of FF14's aether and how it relates to literally everything in setting. I wish more settings and authors put that much effort in and are able to maintain the consistance that makes for unique story telling and emotional pay off of reading something from way back when and connecting it with the new data provided.
So I bought this as I really like Conan 2d20 System and I was surprised that system appears to be very rules lite compared to Conan 2d20 or WHFR 4E and a lot of rules and stuff appears to be on GM to flesh out. Usually i pay for RPG books because i don't want to figure out how much damage or to hit modifier some fancy sword has but in Dune core rulebook, its precisely that, book demands that i figure it out instead of giving me stat blocks. may be its just I'm retarded, or this system is lazy slop cashing in on movie craze?
>>97378875> How does it set up "the session." That I don’t know, I only skimmed the book before shelving it.But if I were to speculate, given the power and status the PCs are likely to poses right out of the gate, my guess would be to expect the game to play more like an open-world sandbox. The degree to which being based on status.
I asked one of veteran players at my local hobby shop/club and they said that Dune is similar to Fate as a lot of what you can do is moderated by "assets" you have, which can range from character aspects like "honorable" or "Duelist", to special knowledge you have like kompromats or special gear you have. Assets work in similar fashion as aspects in fate. They also said item i have (agents of dune) is good for initial run and getting hang of the system as its designed to ease in into using system fully. >>97378875like >>97379650 said, your PC are either heads of house or very high ranking retainers so its usual stuff of increasing prestige/power of the house, corporate warfare between rival houses (as each house produce stuff, so you want to sabotage competitors while protecting yours) and appeasing powerful factions such as sisterhood, guild, the Emperor etc.

Maybe it’s because I can’t erase the things that were in our minds when we were making the film. Now, here's where you're deeply confused and missed the context. The first sentence is him re-affirming it's not political. The second sentence is him giving a reason why it's not political (because what was in his mind when making the film was making a horror film, no politics involved).Glad I could clear that up for you, let me know if there's any other cases of basic English that confuse you.
