>>97224778They're making a Diablo-clone of Abomination Vaults, I believe.
>>97224778Truthfully, the quality of KM and WotR weren't the reason why they were picked. If it was very much a popularity contest, you'd think Owlcat would adapt Rise of the Runelords first. KM and WotR were picked because Owlcat love the IDEAS (not the mechanics, even they aren't that crazy) of Kingdom Management and the Mythic System, THEY like those APs. Those two APs were well-known for the very heavy flaws before they got turned into a video game, with KM's rather disconnected plot and WotR's Lawful Good forcing and broken Mythic mechanics. Perhaps I'm being a salty 2efag here, but I feel like other 1e APs would have been far better fits to turn into a video game, like Skull & Shackles, Ironfang Invasion, Reign of Winter (granted that one is probably better for a second game than their first attempt just to save the shock value of stuff like the Tesla coils for non-PF fans), or Hell's Rebels. All of these works better as a consistent, focused adventure with some of their own possible mechanical ideas to convert. If you want to argue any 2e AP should be turned into a vidya (not necessarily by Owlcat), I would say APs like Strengths of Thousands, Seasons of Ghosts, Fists of the Ruby Phoenix (would at least make for a GREAT expansion pack quest if need be), or even Age of Ashes if you want to keep it simple. Or of course Abomination Vaults since the nature of it being a video game would FORCE it to have larger hallways, so it would work as a good Temple of Elemental Evil-esque dungeon crawl game. The upcoming Bastion of Blasphemies also just sounds like it would be a peak vidya experience, with it shouting out Castlevania and Dark Souls inspirations already (even if picking a future adventure is cheating). 2e has good picks for APs, just like 1e. It just that Owlcat is well known for their biases on what they think is good Pathfinder content, and you should always remember that.
>>97222455Ah hell you're right, I don't know how that happened, I could have sworn I added it to the post.
>>97224844I remember a while ago, Owlcat made a tweet about Korvosa and Ileosa Arabasti, so I think the next one after Dark Heresy is Curse of the Crimson Throne which I think is a good one for a video game.Reign of Winter would go hard as an AP though.
>>97224844>>97224937I would also argue that Shattered Star would work well as a game given how Owlcat seems to love their dungeons. I feel like the Shard system could be expanded to work as a low-powered cousin to the Mythic system.

Fuwalos will be getting hit. They reprinted him in shitter-rarity to get the last dregs of money from non-whales and now they will ban him away. Then we wait 3 or so years until another Maxx-C retrain is released and the cycle begins anew.
>Ash was necessary even in decks that are on breakers not HTs just as an answer for Fuwalos >Nips semi-limit herHmmmmmmmm
>>97224836If you think about it, Ash it´s kinda like Called By the Grave in a way. Sure unlike that, Ash is very fair when used going second and sometimes it´s not even enough to stop the opponent going full combo. But if you are going first and you have Ash, you have a tool that denies the opponent Mulcharmy, meaning that Ash can secure your position Going First and go full combo anyways, much like Called By the Grave.
>>97224928And if they don't have a Mulcharmy, you have an extra interaction that can just stop your opponent from going off.

Alright, if NOT 5e, what should be babby's first tabletop in 2025+1?
People saying GURPS are good for people who never saw a ttrpg in their lives lie.
>>97222261Just for the sake of argument i did use gurps as an introductory ttrpg and worked well (one of the guys eventually even became a gm and run gurps by himself). To be fair the actual merit isn't imputable to the system itself but to me that i layed the game out in the most digestible manner incrementally introducing rules at the table own pacing of absorbing them. I genuinely believe you can use whatever ttrpg you like as introductory, the important things is the signal-noise ratio of the information conveyed. This whole thread is essentially moot.
>>97222318 I assume Is for "I never play a ttrpg and i'm planning to run a game for me and my fríends" so we're talking about learning and explaining the game at the same time.
>>97223091Well, in which case i agree with him, not that isn't feasible but kinda unrealistic to expect. They main issue in that case is that the GM-in-the-making tackling gurps will have in his hands a bigass modular system with little to no guidance on how to build a game with, conversely something like d&d is presented as-is as already full-rounded for the specific task (that one may argue to be good or not at but still). To be more precise it's an issue more specific of gurps 4e, the 3e basic set offered more guidance in designing games, including a full adventure and even a solo one.

>>97220920>>97224014>>97224027They're never very consistent on the exact size of the world. The Empire is probably the best documented of the setting, but its actual size will vary. I've seen one common map listing the Empire as only about 500-600 miles from roughly Bögenhafen to the easternmost frinches of Ostermark, while this map of Hochland (a reproduction of an older) has the entirety of the Empire's smallest province be roughly 200 miles from one end to another. If we want the Empire to be of a "fun size" then I'd say about 2000 miles from the westernmost parts of Reikland to the ends of Ostermark would work the best. For the entire world? Four times as large would be four times the fun content.

>>97222949I meant more as a character design element. Though yes, a lot of non-armor clothing stats just come down to weight, price/quality, and maybe being able to help in warm/cold/humid climates if they're not explicitly items with some sort of power.
>>97223432I don't care unless I can list them in my equipment individuallyI have one player who will buy bling for his character and list detailed clothing , but the rest will wear the setting equivalent of a t-shirt and autism jeans so it's a bit of a bummer

Why is it so common for fantasy rpgs that try to do the "Deep Lore" stuff to always default to Gnosticism or H.P. Lovecraft in a trench coat?
>>97214013>Plants are what is wrong with everything in the world. We must return to Photosynthesis.
Familiarity is important.
Gnosticism is just true!IAM!
>>97209182White Wolf's games are heavily rooted in Christian mythology and Gnosticism is basically Christianity/Judaism deep lore, so it really should come as no surprise here. But yeah, sure, I get what you're saying, seen plenty of it as well. I think it's largely because the core themes of Gnosticism are>reality isn't exactly what it appears to be >god(s) are lying to youWhile the core them of HPL is >there are forces/entities/civilisations out there that operate on an entirely different level we can barely comprehendAnd those really are kind of the most obvious angles if you're trying to write some major, plot-twist "deep lore" for your setting Another reason I see is there's probably a pretty big correlation between people who are into the concept of deep lore (and thus want to include it in their setting) and people who are into /x/ stuff (and thus are probably aware of Gnostic stuff and think it's some extra cool secret knowledge they'll be extremely original for ripping off)
