Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.If you're wondering where to start:- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.TQ: what's the best Gurps supplement based on a licensed IP (Prisoner, Deadlands, Discworld, etc)?
>>97891284Yes, it is a basic GURPS assumption that anything that can move on its own has 10 DX.>>97891574Literally all weapons.Your idea works but I think it can be cheaper since DF has this talent in pic related. What I thought about was using modular abilities:>Short List [4] and no limitations to rearranging points [5]; Trait Limited: Weapon Skills Only (-40%); Reduced Time: Instant (+20%); Focus Limited: Weapons (-15%); Requires Skill Roll: Connoisseur (-10%);This way you have a pool of points that you can instantly put into a skill the moment you pick up a weapon.I figure two slots (so you can dual wield if you want) and then about 16 "moduler points" would this weapon master to just grab any weapon and use it as a master.I suppose spending points on connoisseur would also allow him to know stuff about weapons outside of their immediate usage.I think this works out to be cheaper and not too abusive.Unrelated butComment too long. If I make a summonable ally that costs FP, that automatically gives it a 1 minute duration if I'm not mistaken. Then, if I give it the "reduced duration" until it only lasts one second, it means that I would spend a maneuver summoning it (and giving it an order since talking is a free action), then it would appear, get one turn to do the order, and then disappear right? The idea is to imitate the jrpg style summoning where the spirit just shows up, casts a spell or makes one attack, then disappears.
Any adaptations for East Texas University or similar settings for GURPS?
>>97890569This sounds autistic and retarded.>>97890791What's the point of trying to stat all this? It sounds so expensive that no one could actually buy it.

In the Call of Cthulhu 7e Keepers Guide, the combat chapter runs from page 100 to 129, for 29 pages.Comparatively:>Creating Investigators: Pages 28-51, 23 pages>Skills: Pages 52 to 79, 26 pages>Game System: Pages 80 to 99, 19 pages>Chases: Pages 130 to 151, 21 pages>Sanity: Pages 152 to 169, 17 pages>Tomes of Eldritch Lore: Pages 222 to 239, 17 pagesAnd hell, if you want to be technical, the two included scenarios that make up Chapter Fifteen go from 344 to 383 for 39 pages. The only reason Combat is that long is because it also includes healing rules, which could have easily been moved into a separate section and take up about 10 pages of the Combat chapter. Nearly a third of the chapter is dedicated to getting better from combat.

How the fuck do Callidus Assassin work? Like I know shit but how do they actually work? So what I can remember.1. Trained from a young age (though thanks to the Scion fluff it's really fucking vague, like how long do you kill your classmates at school before you go to further training somewhere else?) to be able to take Polymorphine and has to learn to bend and break their bones to reshape themselves. Painful and 99% of them are women because polymorphine works better on them.2. Can become any humanoid and gender. Including Orks etc.3. Assassins spray their bodysuit on which protects them and shit and (old fluff) requires a special substance to remove the bodysuit. But this doesn't really answer some questions;1. So an assassin turns themselves into somebody else... How does this actually work? Do they spray on their bodysuit, change into whatever THEN put on clothes? Or do they have to be naked, change shape, then put on clothes? (I swore there was a very old comic that showed when they remove the disguise of the bodymorph they're left in their bodysuit but this makes no sense, since why would, lets say, a Planetary Governor be wearing a bodysuit? Can they make it invisible and look like skin?). Or do they 'project' the clothes/armor onto themselves using tech and in reality all there is is their bodysuit?2. Can they change into smaller things like Ratlings or Squats? Are Ogryns too big? Etc. If they change into the weirder abhumans (and there are actual shapeshifting abhumans in the setting so) do they get their abilities?3. I assume they keep their fighting abilities when changed but lets say you turned into a kid or old guy, do you still get to move like you were a trained adult at the peak of human performance?Or is this really 'don't think about it'. I don't think it has even been explained like how the process actually works, fully.

It's bad enough that so many people here try to describe their activity as a game, when they try so hard to stay as far from gameplay or a game structure as possible, and focus on aspects that are independent of games.

>>97890818It's not too strong in standard meta, but it is often considered the gatekeeper deck in Genesys. As in, it's not always topping tournaments, but if you want to top a tournament you Will be facing it and your deck has to be better than it.Like this deck won one of the Proto-YCSes, and the main difference between the old points list and the current one's values is in the staples being run.https://ygoprodeck.com/deck/exosister-696765

>>97891347Exosisters does have access to a few unfair things in the form of Shifter, Kali Yuga, and Rainbow Magician. They just aren't very consistent. Shifter is an auto-win vs 95% of decks, but is at 1. Magnifica into Kali Yuga is funny, but it turns your deck into a worse Raidraptors which is already fragile as fuck. Rainbow Magician isn't bad, but requires you to open 7th tachyon + one of Martha, Sakitama, or Pax and for the opponent to have no interaction.

>>97891220I'm no expert in physics or engineering so this could be completely unrealistic, but here's my excuse:>anti-gravity vehicles emit force of some kind from their underside>force is deflected off solid objects>deflected force may bounce back into the underside of the vehicle, pushing it up even more with the same force output (then deflecting off it and potentially repeating)>closer proximity to the ground = exponentially more deflected force received>it is therefore more efficient to travel as close to the ground as possible, only going as high as necessary to avoid hitting any bumps or obstacles>floating vehicles are fitted with lower-output antigrav generators which, while having potential advantages such as size, cost, mass, and/or energy efficiency, are unable to support the vehicle's mass without a certain amount of deflected force (meaning a hard limit on how far they can be off the ground)so the difference between a floater and a fully flying vehicle would be sort of like the difference between a toyota camry and porsche 911, where the former uses a low-output engine for cheap efficient travel, and the latter uses a higher-output engine for higher performancealternatively (or additionally), there could be a legal reason for it:>for one reason or another, many people IRL seem to struggle with just driving in two dimensions in a terrestrial automobile>driving in three dimensions is going to be significantly more complex than two>for this reason, people are only allowed to fly if they pass a test proving they're capable of doing so without endangering themselves and others around them>if they don't/can't get their loicense, then their vehicle is locked in 2D cuckmode>if flying isn't necessary to get around, then most people might not bother taking the test, with it mostly just done (in civilian context) by enthusiasts or people who need it for their job
