They're fun. I like a mostly ranged focused faction and them being somewhat optimistic and mostly coherent is good because it contrasts with the rest of the setting. The mechs and railguns are also fun

Finally got my Pathfinders today. What am I for? Can I build a reasonable team with multiple drones or is Shas'las spam a thing? I would rather not buy another box or even extra bodies if not needed and I simply like drones.

Accepted is considered weaker since middle ages, literally, and this was confirmed by supercomputers, but top players still need to be prepared for it, since there are some traps later in the lines. QGD on other hand offers a million of fighting positions both for black and white. That's why it's so popular for both sides. Black can go for reti, indian, modern, queen's pawn, benoni... if he wishes to avoid Queen's Gambit, but every one of those is much narrower in opportunities and scope (or they transpose into a known line of Queen's Gambit), so a quality white player will be able to remember the lines and lead the match into, to him, known positions, offering him advantage.

The GM is the little brother of one of our usual group members, said member is becoming a massive that guy. In truth he was always like that as we came to know him longer, just he was HIDING it really well up to this point. His younger brother is running an all Evil campaign. The Goal? Destabilize the nation of Cheliax for a Demon cult, I belive it was in service to Lemashtu but it has been almost a decade since the game so I could be wrong. We aren't cult members, just evil mercenaries.The characters in this endeavor? A Half-Giant monk who is trying to run a mercenary company and have troops with guns, a cursed Medusa lady wizard, a neutral Cleric played like a simp, a hyper minmaxed synthesist Summoner played by the that guy, and finally me. I was playing a Teifling Eldritch Scion Magus from Thuvia. I and the GM came up with a backstory for this character to say he was an old sultan whose city state and family was destroyed by Cheliax troops trying to find the Youth Elixir's formula. This led to my character despising all of Cheliax, and most of humanity in general.1/2
