Well, there's TinkerCAD... Which I guess might illustrate the problem quite well.. 3D modelling is all said and done a quite complex task, especially if you want any kind of computer assistance to keep you from just putting every vertex in its place one by one. As such the UI also get either somewhat complex as well, or the whole thing ends up very limited in capacity.
And to be honest it usually isn't that bad to get started as long as you have a video to handhold you through the very first steps of figuring out how this or that editor has been structured.

Been using TH-BJD Cream Pink as my workhorse resin (I would just use the grey Tough 74 but the fleshtone is actually useful for my other hobby of toy design and as minis made with the stuff are getting painted anyway there's no reason not to use it) and it's amazingly strong and gets good detail, but I've found one very annoying habit of it is, because it's quite pale, the support-side tends to get excess resin cured onto it quite easily, which makes one side of the model look kinda "doughy". I've found setting a higher lift distance, lower lift/retract speed and longer light-off delay helps a lot, but with my current settings I'm getting really nice prints that take fucking ages to actually finish. Any advice on good settings? I'm using a Saturn 4 Ultra with a regular exposure time of 1.3 seconds and 30 micron layers, for what it's worth.

I usually here it being post-4ths that the gap becomes insurmountable by slot-efficiency of non-spell solutions, and this is theoretically simple to solve by making skills maintain a similar dynamic of lagging in momentary power for attrition insensitivity. But that'd require actually having robust skills allowed to do spectacular things, which requires either a LOT of hard lockouts or out-scaling the die to support soft lockouts to keep low-level skill-focused characters from doing high-level skill things off a high roll.

High-level Warriors were still killing machines in earlier editions and casters want to ignore that truth. In 1e, a 10th level non-specialist Fighter with non-magical equipment and a longsword would deal roughly an 1/8 of an average red dragon's hp on their own each round. Give them 18/00 Strength (or Gauntlets of Ogre Power) and they will deal nearly a quarter the average red dragon's hp in a round. With a +1 longsword, they can deal more than 1/3rd. With weapon specialization more than 1/2.

There's mods to start on different planets that change the tech tree to accommodate it. With that approach it's not inherently better or worse than starting on Nauvis. Having an initially safe zone on each planet is vanilla behavior and hunger isn't a consideration in the game so you could just say the suit has a system for recycling biomass using negligible amounts of energy or something.

Xenotactics is a great stripped down version of Infinity.
Do the Net Epics and Warmaster Revolution count as free? GW certainly didn't intend them that way, but the fan versions are technically distinct.
I think No Quarter and No Limits are WFB/40k descended free games.
There's a bunch of ultra short rules like OPR and FUBAR.
Most common I think are sci-fi skirmish games. I think Planet28 is free, and Star Breach, and probably loads more.

im not 100% sure if this is the right place to ask. but iv been trying to decide on a smaller squad type of wargame.

I liked Trench Crusade, but apparently, there is some weird drama related to it, and the player base shrank. turnip28 seems fun, but the rules look a little fucky.

I'd just like to play a smaller-scale squad game with a playerbase I don't need to pull teeth to find a game, with rules that don't have a lot of bloat, so I can build an army for my hyper fixation.

Any ideas?

There is also the absence of anything like panties or thongs. I hate those things in fantasy, especially fantasy that's based on medieval era. Closest equivalent to modern female undergarments has been invented during the renascence.

Before that the women wore nothing under their skirts except maybe more skirts for warmths. During periods some would bind loin cloths to hold up linen, but that's only during the bad days.

agreed. I think partially this comes from people getting used to cars so much, they forgot you are supposed to have pack animals to carry your stuff, not turn your garments into utility coveralls.

I disagree, Clyde Caldwell gives him a run for his money.
I don't there's one single best sexy art artist from the D&D 2e era, there were so many masters of the craft its mind-blowing. People who play D&D today have zero concept of just how far we've fallen.

Yes, a pelt is an object and mending explicitly fixes rips and holes. However, If a cleric cast "Make Whole" I'd turn the pelt into an entire animal corpse, because a corpse is an object and a pelt is just one part.

I guess for me its a question, when does the pelt as an object that's to be mended back to its original state, become that object. Surely not when its still on the animal - at that point its an organ of the animal. If the damage was done as it was being skinned, wouldn't that be part of the state to which the mending has to restore it?

Why would it? Don't forget magic is meta-physical, not physical. It doesn't need to have to be coherent mathematically or logically, it just needs to make sense intuitively. It makes complete sense for a spell to heal a pelt to be a perfect pelt rather than a perfect corpse, simply because the person casting the spell internally see "a Pelt" as a different object from "a Corpse". Don't overthink it.
