The Bone Temple is a kino Gnostic movie. Think about it. Samson is like Adam (he's even named after a Biblical figure), he's brought out of a state of nature into a state of humanity by Dr. Ian Kelson who gives him a "fruit" (anti-psychotic medication in the film) that lifts the veil from his eyes and suddenly he has knowledge of what he really is. Dr. Ian Kelson is even called Satan in the movie, just like the serpent in the garden was. But he also is sacrificed, similar to Jesus. Jesus and the serpent are one and the same in Gnostic myth. Samson also reminds me a lot of Enkidu in the Epic of Gilgamesh. He even looks like Enkidu (and anyone with knowledge of history knows that the Epic of Gilgamesh inspired the Book of Genesis since Enkidu = Adam).
>>217395742Promised land from 28 Years later is the MOST kino song I’ve heard, it’s fucking unreal. Young Fathers have smashed it and laid out the entire thesis for the trilogy in their work.
>>217412832Jimmy himself was the one who spent the entire movie making white people die horribly thoughbeit. He gets what he fucking deserves. Samson was receptive to treatment so he was spared.>>217412850Well, I don't think that it could have been made exactly as-is, but when watching this it struck me that the majority of the film could be shown to someone who hadn't seen the first 28 Years Later and they'd have no problem following and enjoying. Really the only major question would be "how do spikey and kelson know each other". I think instead of a 2 hour movie that is basically just a prologue to spike's journey outside (the insane jimmy saville power rangers gang ending of which probably nuked interest in this one), it could have been a duology. Basically a 2 hours 20 minutes film which is just the Bone Temple but with the first film's story condensed to half an hour or 45 minutes.
>>217412249Yes, that's the point of the post. He's still infected so he can't get infected twice. But the symptoms were treated and that's why he had a semi-lucid moment. But psychosis meds wear off eventually if you don't keep taking them.
>>217412967I think the parts with Kelson taking notes will become important, I think Samson while lucid will read them and find out what anti-psychotics he needs to take so he doesn't go crazy again. His kid is still with Spike's dad so Samson definitely isn't finished in the story. I think this falls in line with the "you VILL take the meds" themes of the movie
>>217413037I agree I think the next movie will have a Cilian/Spike plot and a Samson/Island plot that meet up somehow but idk if any of the island actors from the 2025 movie have signed on for the next one yet

>>217412309>Na'vi live 30% longer than humans and age more gracefully>Mo'at is clearly showing her age>Neytiri is only 18, her sister wasn't much olderProbably an oversight, but if not it suggests Na'vi stay fertile for at least the better part of a century.
>>217412942Again, if that was considered a form of immortality then why don't we already see it happening irl? Old wealthy people would lobby to change and open up human cloning laws so that they could clone themselves into younger bodies. Every weirdo who gets their body cryogenically frozen would go the cloning route instead. Likely answer: it's understood not to be a form of immortality, and there's little reason to do it if you simply have children who can inherit your stuff

Who's the most handsome/beautiful director that wasn't an actor beforehand? I always thought David Lynch was very attractive

>>217412782I mean, how much can you blame the guy when George WAS that companypart of the reason he was so far up his own ass creatively was because along the process of building that company he kept hiring nerdy ass people that worshipped him like he was a god and spending every day surrounded by themLF/LA were weird ass companies, closest comparison I can think of is fucking McMahon in WWF, he WAS that companyhopefully not having that centered around him will make Filoni better, respect other people's contributions way more than George didthere's way more hope in him hiring the right people and collaboratively fixing it than him doing it himselfnot holding my breath though
one thing that makes all the sense in the world I don't understand why nobody has done is make the fucking EU a cartoon serieshow many fucking seasons of that shit is already plotted out and sitting therecall it legends don't make it canon whatever who gives a shit just do it, mindbogglingly stupid not to espectially when fucking Hamill would and could do it on his deathbed
>>217412963>respect other people's contributions way more than George didwhy would you respect people's contributions when they hardly understand the thing you've created and their contributions are dogshit? reminder that most people think star wars is just world war two in space. dave at least understands there's more nuance to it and the huge samurai influence as well as flash gordon shit. dave also has flavors of george's autism, which is why he was handpicked as the disciple. it's not an uncommon practice to hire people that have a vested interest to see your product grow and your ideas expand, but when they themselves have no idea how your idea functions, they're very useless apart from sales and marketing.
>>217413069>why would you respect people's contributions when they hardly understand the thing you've created and their contributions are dogshit?fuck the dogshit I'm talking about the good bits from the writers>when they themselves have no idea how your idea functions, they're very useless apart from sales and marketing.how it functions as what, exactlyGeorge changed his mind about what was happening a bunch over decades and every time he did, the timeline of when he intended that changed with itthis was never some 6 film series all about Anakin until he decided it was in the 90's and he wanted to do prequels
>>217413069forgot to mention george was that company because he handled both business and creative decisions. the split between furloni and this tranny lady is going to be a mess, on account of they've already effectively been in these positions for the last several years and the ip has had a steady nosedive in those years. it won't get better unless there's a serious change in direction and control of quality.

>one show good>one show embarrassingly amateurish and badIt's that simple. Most people wouldn't give a shit about a black lady Inquisitor if the character was interesting. Instead she was a stupid character played by a bad actress in a horrible show no one wanted that retcons and shits on the OT and PT.

>>217412897I more meant Picard rather than trying to turn himself into an action hero in TNG and the movies. The tragic childhood cliche isn't something exactly new and while Stewart had strong feelings about his mother, I don't think he would ever pitch a version of events where his mother was just mentally ill with the abuse his father inflicted on her just being all in her head.
>>217412673>Stewart directed like two episodes of TNG and they both fucking sucked.A Fistful of Datas is dumb fun and I'm tired of pretending it's not. It even predicted people modding characters into video games.
