This is mostly unrelated to the current "discussion", but I thought to compare the item balance in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds to the item balance in Mario Kart World and it made me realize how unbalanced Mario Kart World is. I knew it always was, but it's in baffling ways that most of the previous Mario Kart games didn't have issues with:>"protection" items that don't grant invincibility are worthless, everything that isn't a shell pierces right through them>you can't see what items other racers have, so you get stunlocked by Fire Flower, raped by Boomerang, jumpscared by Super Horn, all at any given moment without warning when you try to pass anyone>EXTREME item bloat, Coin is a worse ? Block, Star is a worse Boo, Kamek is a worse Lightning, Dash Food is a worse Mushroom, Ice Flower is completely identical to Fire Flower, and Feather and Blooper are completely useless as alwaysAnd of course there's how overpowered bagging is in Mario Kart World due to the design of the intermission tracks and how easily chainable Triple Mushroom, Golden Mushroom, and Mega Mushroom are. Both games have garbage item balance, but at least Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has a decent chance of its issues actually getting addressed.
